Information

Sonoko Sakanoue (坂上そのこ Sakanoue Sonoko) is one of the school's female students, thus Ryoba Aishi's eleventh rival in the 1980s mode.

story part 1

From 1985 to 1988, police were baffled by a series of seemingly unsolvable murders taking place in Tokyo. After each murder, police received an anonymous letter from a man claiming responsibility for the crimes and spelling out the name of his next victim using a complicated cipher. Eventually, the police began releasing the killer's letters to the public in the hope that someone might be able to solve the killer's cipher and decode the name of his next victim. While attending Akademi in 1988, Sonoko Sakanoue began studying the killer's cipher as a hobby. After many long nights, Sonoko cracked the code and discovered the killer's cipher. She was then able to warn the police who the killer was planning to kill next. Following this, the police recognized her as a prodigy who could potentially help them solve the case, and formally requested her help with the investigation, even granting her access to the crime scenes and evidence. Sonoko discovered several new clues and put together some pieces of the puzzle that the police were unable to solve on their own, ultimately leading to the serial killer's arrest. If not for her help, the killer could have claimed dozens of lives before he was finally caught. Once her achievements were announced to the public, Sonoko instantly became a national celebrity and was interviewed by countless talk shows and magazines.

History part 2

The main reason for attending Akademi is to further the changes of a successful career. However, Sonoko's accomplishments had already done more for her future career than Akademi could have, so staying at Akademi was pointless. Sonoko dropped out of school without graduating and dove straight into a career as a junior detective. Over the course of the next 12 months, she would help the police solve numerous high-profile crimes. One day, while investigating a crime, Sonoko encountered an investigative journalist who provided her with information that helped her solve the case. Sonoko was so impressed with the journalist's investigative skills that she asked him to take her on as his apprentice. Sonoko and the journalist worked together as a crime-solving duo, leading to the arrest of numerous criminals. The journalist preferred to stay out of the spotlight, deliberately letting Sonoko take all the credit. One day, Sonoko's mentor asked her to return to Akademi, but not to finish her education. He wanted her to investigate the possibility that a serial killer was present at Akademi, killing any girl who tried to get close to a specific boy. Sonoko has accepted the job and has come up with a plan to determine whether or not someone is sabotaging the boy's love life... named Jokichi Yudasei
