Katsuki has a characteristic appearance. He has spiky ash-blonde hair that sticks out in all directions, orange eyes that sometimes appear red, and a permanently furrowed brow. In middle school, he wore the standard school uniform, with the exception of a tie. Underneath his jacket, he wore a shirt that he never buttoned all the way. His pants, despite having a belt, were always hanging down, giving him a baggy appearance. Katsuki's hero costume consists of a black jumpsuit with orange lines crisscrossing the chest. He wears black gloves that go above the elbow, which he uses to equip special devices for combat; black boots with orange accents; a green belt; and iron knee pads. He also wears an unusual iron ornament with three holes on each side of his neck. Katsuki wears a black mask and attaches a "spiky" ornament to his head that is black with an orange tint, simulating an explosion, similar to his hair. The winter version of the costume features a black turtleneck with a high collar, which also has orange holes on it. Katsuki Bakugo is a rude, arrogant man who may seem like an antihero or even a villain to those who meet him for the first time. Determined and thirsty only for victory, Katsuki always has a scary smile during battle. He unwaveringly follows his dream. Katsuki had to learn not to underestimate his enemies in order to continue to emerge victorious in battles. Despite his character, he is very talented and smart, which is especially noticeable during battles, where he comes up with complex strategies and is extremely agile with his quirk, using it not only in direct and brutal attacks. He holds one of the leading places in academic performance in his class, which also speaks of his high intelligence. Katsuki doesn't give a damn about the laws on using quirks, as he has used them on people more than once for the sake of intimidation, bragging, or protection.

The sweat on Katsuki's palms is similar to nitroglycerin, and he can use it to create explosions. The more Katsuki sweats, the more powerful his explosions become. So far, he has used his Quirk through his hands, usually amplifying his attacks with the explosions created. Katsuki's most powerful explosion to date (without the use of the Grenadier Bracers) was able to completely destroy Ochaco's meteor shower, knocking her off her feet and causing a shockwave that rippled through the stadium.[4] Due to his extensive combat skills and intelligence, Katsuki has made his Quirk deadly and versatile. Katsuki suffers no effects from his explosions, with the exception of the powerful recoil, which he also endures with ease, although prolonged use of his Quirk takes a toll on the muscles and joints of his arms. It is currently unknown if he is susceptible to explosions from any source other than his own Quirk, but during the sports festival, he ran directly over buried mines without harm.[5] He is also capable of remaining airborne for a short period of time due to the repulsive force of his Quirk. One of the drawbacks of Katsuki's Quirk is that using the Quirk in rooms filled with gas is too dangerous. Also, since his Quirk relies on increased sweating of the hands, it is more difficult to use in colder climates as its power will decrease.

Katsuki has shown to be one of the strongest students in Class 1-A. He was able to defeat Fumikage Tokoyami and Shoto Todoroki during the Sports Festival, who are also considered quite strong (though they have weaknesses to Katsuki's Quirk, they are still extremely capable). Several pro-heroes such as Eraserhead and even All Might have recognized his strength, and Tomura Shigaraki sent an entire squad to capture him despite the risks, which would have paid off handsomely had Bakugou agreed to join the League of Villains. Enhanced Strength: Katsuki possesses above-average physical strength, as he was able to fight Izuku on equal terms even when the latter was using his Quirk. He was also able to resist and overpower Shoto Todoroki, a powerful fighter, during their battle. Bakugo is able to withstand the recoil from the explosion caused by the Grenadier Bracers without much trouble, while Izuku nearly dislocates his arm.[10]

Keen Intellect: Katsuki has proven to be very intelligent and a good tactician and analyst, as he was able to figure out the weaknesses of Kurogiri and Fumikage within a short period of time. He also quickly assessed which of the villains attacking the USJ were the biggest threats. He placed 1st in the entrance exam, and 3rd in the mid-year test. He did not immediately believe Izuku's words about obtaining a Quirk, but after All Might's final victory over the villain All For One, he realized who the hero's challenge was addressed to.[11] He realized what Izuku was talking about and who he actually received his Quirk from. After all this, he can be called a true genius.

Musical Talent: As shown before the start of the UA Cultural Festival, Katsuki is an excellent drummer, having been forced to attend a music school as a child.

Grenadier Bracers (籠こ手て, Kote): An additional outfit for Katsuki's suit that resembles giant grenades that store his sweat to create a devastating explosion. He first used the bracers during the Trial by Battle against Izuku. Improvised Grenades: Another addition to Katsuki's outfit, he has several containers hanging from his belt that resemble regular grenades, which can be used to store sweat for later use. They were first used by Denki Kaminari during the "Provisional Hero License Exam".[13] Kneepads: Designed to allow Katsuki to "kill with his knees", though they haven't been used yet.

Interesting Facts

Katsuki likes spicy food and mountain climbing. He can play the drums well. Originally, Katsuki was supposed to be a natural genius with a very kind and polite personality who could accidentally hurt someone with his quirk. The author, however, found this boring and decided to make him an unlikable character. Katsuki's name is composed of "爆" (baku) from "爆破" (bakuha, literally "explosion") and "勝" (ka(tsu)) from "勝つ" (katsu, literally "to win"). Katsuki's academic data is as follows: He is the 17th student in class 1-A. Took 1st place in the entrance exam. Ranked 3rd in the Quirk Awareness Test. Placed 3rd in the half-year test. Became the winner of the UA Sports Festival. In various Popularity Polls, Katsuki has ranked as follows: Placed 3rd in the first poll. Placed first in the second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth polls. He is the oldest student in his class, as he turned 16 on April 20th, almost a month after entering UA, while the rest of the students turned 16 during the school year. Surprisingly, Katsuki knows how to cook, and even very professionally. Zodiac sign - Aries. He doesn't like rain.

Childhood idol: All Might, the hero who saves everyone with a smile on his face, a kind man and his former teacher at UA Izuku Midoriya is a slightly short guy for his age with a rounded face, small symmetrical freckles on both cheeks, large green eyes and dark green curly hair that sticks out in different directions and casts noticeable shadows on itself. All these characteristic features give him a very sloppy and at the same time energetic appearance. Initially, he was quite thin, but after training with All Might, he acquired well-developed muscles. Bakugou also gave him the nickname Deku in childhood. Eijiro Kirishima's appearance is quite ordinary, except for his red-dyed hair, which is styled in such a way that it resembles a cluster of small, sharp spikes. This hair color is not his natural hair color. He started dyeing it before entering UA. During his middle school days, his hair was completely ordinary - straight, slightly disheveled black (natural) hair. He has a scar above his right eye, which he got when he was a child after his Quirk suddenly activated. His teeth are pointed, giving him a slightly aggressive look. He also has an impressive build despite his young age. He is also loosely friends with Shoto Todoroki - Shoto was shown to be the strongest student in Class 1-A. Even after defeating him in the Sports Festival, Katsuki Bakugo admits that Todoroki would have won the fight if he had used his full strength. Shoto was able to easily defeat the villains in the Landslide Zone by himself and demonstrated quick thinking and good preparation during the Sports Festival. During his match with Izuku Midoriya, one of the spectators stated that Shoto was already stronger than most Pro Heroes.

His abilities stem from his difficult childhood, as he was trained by the #1 Hero Endeavor from a young age. This is why he was able to enter UA on recommendation and placed second in both the Quirk Understanding Test and the Sports Festival.
