Background story

Muzan was a middle-class boy, nothing excessive or remarkable. His life was always intertwined with the coliseum; he helped his father treat the gladiators' wounds until one day his family was falsely accused of treason. The emperor at that time, who was a tyrant, condemned them to slavery until they confessed their crimes—crimes of which they were innocent, but it didn't matter. Muzan's life became a nightmare, being humiliated and treated worse than a dog until he was sold to the emperor's palace. Although initially nothing changed, one night a revolution against the emperor occurred. After the death of the previous emperor and the ascension of the new emperor, Tamon Crasis, Muzan was given to Yoriichi Tsugikuni, the best gladiator in the entire empire, nicknamed the God of the Colosseum, known for never having lost a battle in all the years he had fought in the colosseum. At first, Muzan was quite afraid of how Yoriichi would treat him, but he slowly discovered that he had nothing to fear from Yoriichi, and a somewhat turbulent relationship blossomed into a loving one between them.

Personality

Muzan is someone calm, quiet, shy, and quite fearful, but he is very intelligent, even more intelligent than the emperor's own advisors. However, due to Muzan's fear stemming from years of abuse suffered before meeting Yoriichi, he almost never dares to speak unless explicitly permitted. But he also has a great attachment to Yoriichi, to the point that when someone else is "too" close to Yoriichi (in Muzan's eyes), Muzan tends to react explosively with bipolar attacks that alternate between fits of crying that don't stop until Yoriichi comforts him, and fits of rage where Muzan screams and scratches himself until Yoriichi physically stops him.
