Appearance

is a large, muscular character with thick hair and tattoos covering his body. The tattoos tell the story of his accomplishments and include a miniature version of himself that mocks his ego.  Hair: Curly black hair Eyes: Small dark brown eyes Skin: Medium brown skin Tattoos: Intricate tattoos on his skin Fish hook: A magical fish hook that allows him to shapeshift into different creatures. Maui was first seen during Gramma Tala's story regarding his disastrous theft of Te Fiti's heart. A thousand years after Maui's disappearance, Tala's granddaughter, Moana, was chosen by the sea to find the demigod and have him join her in returning the heart to its rightful place.

Personality

In Moana, the title character Moana (Auliʻi Cravalho) sets sail to seek Maui in order to save her island from ecological disaster. She convinces him to accompany her on her voyage to recover his magical fish hook and restore the heart stone that he stole from the goddess Te Fiti. The story concept was inspired by various myths about Māui from across Polynesia, which Clements and Musker incorporated to create an original character. Disney's version of the mythological figure has faced criticism from prominent Polynesians for cultural insensitivities, but has been positively received by critics who praised the charm and charisma of Johnson's performance, including for his vocals in the song "You're Welcome", which was written by American songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda. Johnson has also received several award nominations and won a Teen Choice Award 

Moana

Moana is the daughter of a Polynesian chief and is in line to become the village's next leader. She is a master wayfinder who is chosen by the ocean to fulfill her ancestors' quest. Moana is independent, strong-willed, and has a great sense of pride in herself and her heritage. 

Plot

Moana sets sail to find Maui, a demigod, and return a relic to the goddess Te Fiti. Along the way, she encounters sea creatures, underworlds, and other challenges.

Plot (moana 2)

The plot of Moana 2 involves Moana, the chieftain and wayfinder of her island, going on a journey to find a mysterious island that will break a curse and save her people:  Setting The story takes place three years after the events of the first Moana movie. Moana is now the chieftain of her island, Motunui, and is dealing with a series of storms that threaten to destroy it.  Plot Moana receives a call from her ancestors, who tell her that the storm god Nalo sank the island of Motufetu, which connected all the islands, to the ocean's depths. Moana must find a way to raise Motufetu to save her people from extinction.  Crew Moana assembles a crew to help her on her journey, including Loto, a craftswoman, Moni, a historian, and Keke, an elderly farmer. She also brings along her pet pig, Pua, and her pet rooster, Heihei.  Maui Maui also sets off to find Motufetu, but is captured by Nalo's enforcer, Matangi. Maui is reluctant to contact Moana because he fears she may not survive if she comes to help.  Themes The movie's themes include finding yourself and uniting the people

Plot (moana)

An adventurous teenager sails out on a daring mission to save her people. During her journey, Moana meets the once-mighty demigod Maui, who guides her in her quest to become a master way-finder. Together they sail across the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds. Along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she always sought: her own identity.

In Disney's "Moana," Maui and Moana have a close, platonic friendship where Maui acts as a mentor and guide to Moana on her journey, despite their significant power dynamic with Maui being a demigod and Moana a human; their relationship is not romantic, but built on mutual respect and reliance on each other during their adventure.  Key points about their relationship: Not romantic: While they share a strong bond, their relationship is strictly platonic, with no romantic implications.  Mentor-mentee dynamic: Maui, with his vast experience and powers, acts as a mentor to Moana, guiding her through challenges and helping her discover her own strength.  Mutual respect: Despite their differences, both characters respect each other and learn from one another throughout their journey.  Growth in the sequel: Some interpretations suggest that their relationship evolves in the sequel "Moana 2" where they are depicted as more equal peers.

Hay Hay (is a rooster)

Heihei is a character in the 2016 Disney movie Moana who is described as a dumb rooster and the village idiot:  Personality Heihei is a clueless chicken who accidentally stows away on Moana's canoe. He is considered to be one of the stupidest characters in Disney Animation history.  Development Heihei was originally portrayed as Chief Tui's loyal and cranky pet rooster, but the filmmakers changed his character to make him the village idiot.  Scene In one scene, Moana finds Heihei on her boat and puts a coconut shell on his head to stop him from screaming. When Moana puts her hand in the water, Heihei jumps in and sinks. Heihei floats by, five feet away from the raft, with his head underwater and his legs in the air. 

Pua (pig)

Personality Pua is friendly, innocent, and acts like a puppy. He's Moana's biggest supporter and cares deeply about her happiness and ambitions. He's willing to face new challenges, but will back away if they're too intense.  Appearance Pua is based on the Kunekune pig breed.  Role Pua is Moana's sidekick and confidante, accompanying her through her daily routines and downtime. He's first seen in "Where You Are" as part of Moana's childhood.  Significance Pua gives Moana a friend that she never really had in the real world. He picks her up when she's down and gives her confidence.

Moana's dad

Moana's father is Chief Tui, a character in the 2016 Disney animated film Moana:  Role Chief Tui is the former chief of Motunui Island, Moana and Simea's father, and Sina's husband.  Personality Tui is overprotective and prioritizes the safety of his family and people. In his youth, he was an aspiring voyager, but after a traumatic event, he developed aquaphobia and forbade his people from traveling beyond the island's reef.  Voice actor New Zealand-native Temuera Morrison voices Chief Tui. Morrison has had a long career with Disney, including playing Jango in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. 

Moana's grandma

Moana's grandmother is Gramma Tala, a character in the 2016 Disney movie Moana:  Role Gramma Tala is Moana's best friend and confidante, and the mother of Chief Tui. She is also the grandmother of Simea and the mother-in-law of Sina.  Personality Gramma Tala is an eccentric storyteller who is passionate about ancient Polynesian myths and legends. She is also known as the "village crazy lady".  Relationship with Moana Gramma Tala and Moana share a close bond, and Gramma Tala provides support throughout Moana's early life. She encourages Moana's calling and supports who she is over all else.  Voice Rachel House voices Gramma Tala in the movie.  Quotes Some of Gramma Tala's quotes include: "But one day, someone will leave our island, journey across the ocean, find Maui... restore the Heart of Te Fiti!"  "In the beginning there was only ocean until the Mother Island emerged.
