Tai Lung is a large snow leopard with a well-trained physique. The Tai Lung's coat is gray and white, and has black rings with brown spots inside. It has standing black fur on the back of the neck. The eyes are amber in color. His clothes are purple trousers with a leather belt with small spikes.

Tai Lung seemed gloomy, dangerous and arrogant. However, in the past, when he was raised and trained by Shifu, he seemed to be a happy, energetic cub with great talent and dedication to the art of kung fu and was considered a kung fu prodigy in the eyes of his loving father and master. Over the years, Tai Lung has developed into a strong and ferocious warrior, having achieved a lot during his student years, even mastering all the thousand scrolls of kung fu. However, his ultimate goal was to become a Dragon Warrior and get his hands on the Dragon Scroll, which he firmly believed was his purpose. However, the moment Shifu introduced him to Oogway, the old master pointed out that Tai Lung was not the one, much to their shock. Expecting Shifu to speak on his behalf, he received an emotional blow when his master did not try to protest, and Tai Lung regarded this as an act of betrayal. It was this double refusal that revealed the darkness in Tai Lung's heart, expressed in pure rage when he attacked and ravaged the Valley of Peace, and later mercilessly threw Shifu aside when he tried to prevent him from forcibly taking the Dragon Scroll. Tai Lung's simmering anger and rage did not fade even after he spent twenty years in prison. However, although he has been shown to be patronizing and cruel towards anyone who stands between him and the Dragon Scroll, it is possible that he had no intention of harming anyone, as he has never been shown to take a life. It was also revealed that he worked hard in everything he did to make Shifu proud of him, and it was shown that he looked remorseful and hesitant after hearing Shifu's sincere apologies to him. Another example of his vulnerable side was also shown when Tai Lung expressed obvious fear and despair after Po was eventually beaten up.

Fighting style:

Tai Lung is an intimidating fighter, ready to fight to the extreme, resourceful and unpredictable, who has mastered various styles of kung fu. Due to his physiology and years of training, Tai Lung also possesses tremendous physical strength and was able to punch his way through numerous armored opponents, as well as rocks and many other obstacles. He was also known as a kung fu prodigy since childhood and the first Jade Palace student to master all the thousand kung fu scrolls. Like Shifu, he demonstrates an effortless command of speed and was able to travel long distances at lightning speed without getting tired, so much so that he could suddenly appear in the blink of an eye. He is also able to ignore gravity to some extent, which was shown when he ran and jumped on huge stalactites as they fell through the air, although this is probably due to his high physical speed and sharp reflexes. He used his claws to climb structures, and also seemed ready to use them to hit the enemy, as seen in his battle with Shifu. He also demonstrated the ability to hold blue fire in his bare paws and use it during combat, showing no visible signs of pain and demonstrating a high tolerance for it. His tolerance for pain is also shown when Poe knocks him to his knees with several punches to the stomach, sending him crashing into buildings and throwing him high enough to leave a leopard-shaped hole in the ground. He also uses qi in some techniques, such as his super punch, which he used on Po. This shows his limited skills in using Qi capabilities. Tai Lung's characteristic techniques include nerve attack, which, ironically, was the same technique that Oogway used to defeat him in his first attempt to steal the Dragon Scroll. Despite this, Tai Lung was able to use it to paralyze and defeat most of the Furious Five. He also had a signature double punch and a "sucker punch," both of which he used several times in the first film. Unfortunately, the nerve attack proved useless against Po.
