Nezuko Kamado

Appearance

Before being turned into a Demon by Muzan, Nezuko had black hair[5] tied up in a bun held with a pink hair ornament. According to Tanjiro's words, Nezuko was the most beautiful girl in her village [6]. Her eyes had human features and were also the same violet color that almost all members of her family share. Her clothing after embarking on her journey with her brother consists of a pink kimono embroidered with star-shaped patterns and her obi is red and white in the form of checkered patterns, as well as wearing a black Haori. . Her footwear consists of pink lace-up zori sandals, white tabi-style stockings, and black wraps to protect her legs. When she was transformed into a Demon by Muzan, her physical features changed drastically; her hair remains loose with flattened, wavy and thin extensions of a gradient shade of orange at the tips, more pronounced fangs, elongated pink nails and her eyes changed to a bright pink color with her pupils similar to those of a cat, trait shared with almost all Demons. Nezuko carries a piece of bamboo tied to her mouth with a red string as a form of the character's recurring gag which was provided by Giyu Tomioka [7]; This, in addition to being her sign of identity, prevents her from accidentally attacking another individual.

Personality

As a human, Nezuko was very compassionate and loving towards her family, putting her own safety first and caring for her family more than herself, much like Tanjirō cares for her. After she was turned into a Demon by Muzan, much of her memories as a human were lost, mostly those related to her family.

Personality 2

She is still very caring and protective of other humans whom she views as family members due to Urokodaki's influence while she was asleep for two years. She is also quite brazen and does not seem to be afraid of fighting; she is fiercely protective of her brother and his allies. She also developed great willpower by refusing to consume human flesh or blood, even in cases of extreme injury or exposure to human blood, such as Sanemi Shinazugawa's Marechi blood.

Personality 3

However, when he transforms into a complete Demon, his most hostile and sadistic side comes to the surface, mercilessly torturing Daki, the Upper Sixth Moon, and being just a few meters away from devouring a human if it were not for the timely intervention of his brother Tanjiro. She still retains her human emotions, as she has been seen crying and being happy, but overall seems more distant than her human cohorts, as well as calmer and less malicious than most demons. As a demon, Nezuko doesn't speak often and stutters a lot. This may be due to her bamboo mouthpiece, which is rarely removed. It also means that she is sometimes hard to predict.

After being exposed to sunlight and surviving, Nezuko can speak a few words coherently, but the words she speaks are very few.

Powers and Abilities

Nezuko can manipulate her body as she needs it; on the left, she increases her size and musculature to subdue Tanjirō while on the right we see how she shrinks to fit her body inside the basket so she can enter without problems. Energy Restoration: Unlike other demons, Nezuko does not need to consume human flesh to replenish her strength, which is enough for her to do simply by remaining asleep for long periods of time inside the box that was specially prepared for her. Power Increase: As a result of the above, Nezuko does not need to train or consume human flesh since, thanks to the fact that she remains asleep for long periods of time, she can increase her strength considerably in battle, this process being exemplified during the fight against Susamaru when she increases her strength abruptly by kicking this demon's Temari ball with more force than its owner throws it after it tears off one of her feet with an initial attack that it then regenerates. As time passes, Nezuko's strength increases considerably. Increased Physical Strength: Despite never being formally trained, Nezuko's naturally enhanced physical strength allows her to easily fight off Demons, however, due to being untrained, Nezuko relies on simply kicking her opponents or overwhelming them with brute force. Her kicks allow her to cut off the heads of Demons with ease or kick down a door. Her strength is extremely high for a Demon who has never eaten a human, with her strength being able to match even that of a Demon of the Upper Moons.

Powers and Abilities 2

Enhanced Regeneration: Nezuko possesses the ability to regenerate her wounds faster than an average Demon, being able to reattach her severed limbs in a matter of seconds. The true nature of her regeneration is to solidify her blood in order to increase the range of her attacks with her severed limbs and then reattach them in seconds, a quality demonstrated during her confrontation with Daki, the Upper Moon Six. Body Manipulation: Nezuko can manipulate her body to suit her needs. When she first used her powers, she increased in size and muscle to try to subdue Tanjirō with the intention of devouring him, but soon returned to her natural size. She can also use this ability to shrink her body so she can fit into the wooden box created by Urokodaki so Tanjirō can carry her. She was also able to use this power to reduce her size to dodge an attack from Kanao. Superhuman Strength: Like every demon, Nezuko possesses a sudden increase in her physical strength, being able to deliver powerful blows capable of breaking bones and in extreme cases, decapitating demons with enough strength in her legs. Her physical strength adapts to her increase in size. Regeneration: As long as her head is not severed, Nezuko has the ability to regenerate her wounds no matter how severe they are. She can even regenerate her limbs when they are severed. However, Nezuko can solidify the blood in her severed limbs to manipulate them into a surprise attack.

When Nezuko is under extreme stress due to a life-or-death situation, she transforms into this form; in this state, Nezuko increases her physical features to what she would look like as an adult, with a horn protruding from the right side of her head, veins in her body begin to bulge from the pumping of blood, and tattoos of branches with leaves appear on her skin. In this state, Nezuko's aggressiveness increases, as does her anxiety about eating human flesh, making her dangerous. Tanjirō calms his sister when she is in this state by means of a melody. However, during the fight against Hatengu, Nezuko manages to control this form at will. Sun Resistance: Nezuko is the only demon that is proven to be able to resist sunlight, which is why Muzan Kibutsuji wants to devour her in order to complete her transformation into a perfect being immune to sunlight.

Demonic Blood Technique

Blood Demon Technique (血けっ鬼き術じゅつ,, Kekkijutsu?): Blood Explosion (爆ばっ血けつ,, Bakketsu?): By using her blood, Nezuko can generate a powerful bright pink fiery flame which can vary in size depending on the amount of blood that has been spilled by Nezuko which works as the fuel to make it burn. The flames that Nezuko creates from her blood are special since they only directly affect Demons, causing considerable damage to them, to such an extent that it directly affects their regeneration capacity, even being able to put an Upper Moon in serious trouble. In addition to its offensive capacity, it also works as a means of healing for humans, since its flames can be used as an antidote against the poisons generated from the blood of a Demon. During her confrontation against Rui, the fifth Lower Moon, Nezuko used her Demon Blood technique for the first time, combining her attack with her brother Tanjiro's Dance of the Fire God, allowing her to use her attack more effectively, but when using this power for the first time, Nezuko ends up exhausted by her effort. However, as Nezuko's power increases, she can use her flames more times without showing signs of fatigue.

Trivia

Kamado, without the second kanji 竈かまど is a traditional Japanese stove. Do, the second Kanji of his surname 門ど means door. Nezu is part of the word Gonezu, which is the name of a flower, the Japanese snowball. Ko 子こ is a common Japanese name suffix for girls. The pattern on Nezuko's kimono is a crisscrossed chrysanthemum from the Edo Kiriko, like Tanjiro's checkered haori, it means long life and longevity. Nezuko is the only one in the Kamado family who inherited eyes similar to her mother's, the rest of her siblings inherited their father's eyes.
