Cure Blossom

Cure Blossom (キュアブロッサム, Cure Blossom)? is Tsubomi's Pretty Cure alter ego. Unlike the former Pretty Cure-duos in the franchise, Tsubomi does not need to be together with her partner, Cure Marine, to transform. Tsubomi transforms by saying "Pretty Cure! Open My Heart!". Although she is at first unable to control the enormous strength and power Pretty Cure possesses, Tsubomi later declares that she will learn to control it to help Erika. After witnessing the Desertrian destroying some flowers, Blossom's rage allows her to fully control her powers, and with the guidance of Chypre and Coffret, can use the attack Pink Forte Wave and, together with Marine, she can use Floral Power Fortissimo.

Hanasaki Tsubomi

Hanasaki Tsubomi (花咲つぼみ, Hanasaki Tsubomi)? is one of the four main Cures in Heartcatch Pretty Cure! and the group leader. She is a second-year transfer student at Myoudou Academy and is in the same class as Erika. Tsubomi's alter ego is Cure Blossom (キュアブロッサム, Cure Blossom)? and she represents the flower, cherry blossom. Her catchphrase is "I can't stand it anymore!" (私、堪忍袋の緒が切れました！, "I can't stand it anymore!")?.

Appearance (Hanasaki Tsubomi)

Tsubomi has maroon eyes and long, curled hair originally worn into a low ponytail with her bangs evenly spread to frame her face. She changed the style into a pair of pigtails held by yellow flower-shaped scrunchies. She originally had glasses that she only wears on occasion now. Her casual outfit was designed by Erika, consisting of a light pink mini-dress with fuchsia lining and sleeves to accent the ribbon design on the chest, a white long sleeved top, denim knee-length pants, and fuchsia flats. For summer, she wears a light pink top with a heart and bow detail and light blue shorts.

Appearance (Cure Blossom)

As Cure Blossom, Tsubomi's eyes and hair become bright pink and her hair grows longer, worn up in a ponytail with a hot pink ribbon adorned by a white and pink flower. She gains a hot pink choker and pink flower earrings. Her white mini-dress has bell flower sleeves and hot pink lining, a band of light pink going down each side of the chest to accent the petals of her skirt. On each hip is a pale pink flower, and on the chest is a hot pink ribbon with a silver and cyan heart brooch in the center. Her wrist accessories accent her skirt, and she gains white below the knee boots with light and hot pink detail and a flower on the side of the foot.

Personality

Tsubomi is a shy and timid introvert who usually keeps to herself, hesitant to speak openly unless approached first. She often worries over small things and is easily worked up, especially when scared or trying to handle more energetic people like Erika. She strongly wants to shed this aspect of herself and over the series manages to become more easygoing and willing to speak her mind thanks to Erika's friendship and encouragement, until she became confident enough to accept her negative qualities. Tsubomi is a kind girl as well, and would never say anything to hurt anyone or make them feel as though she depended on them if it could make them unhappy. She loves flowers and dreams of becoming a botanist to spread flowers and make people happy. Due to her relationship and frequent visits with her grandmother, she has picked up her old-fashioned speech pattern.
