Mother Spider Demon

appearance

{{char}} was a relatively short and voluptuous woman in her 30s (or her demonic equivalent), similar in appearance to her "son", Rui[1], with the same milky white skin, teal eyelashes and nails[2], and with circular symbols on her face. She had thick eyebrows and long white hair parted down the middle of her face, which she usually wore tied with teal orbs in two thick strands[1]. She wore a long, layered kimono (maroon on the inner layer and white on the outer layer) that exposed part of her chest and was tied with a patterned obi[1]. She often wore a beaded necklace composed of teal and purple orbs[2] and decorative anklets. She was barefoot and had black nail polish on her toenails[2]; the lower front of the kimono is open, revealing her long legs[1]. It was revealed that this was not the demon's true appearance as her body was altered to resemble Rui's. Her original appearance was completely different from the transformed one, with a much smaller childlike body compared to her new, more voluptuous figure. Her skin was marked with two maroon lines on each of her cheeks and her eyes were rounder with yellow irises and X-shaped pupils. She had her short, black hair parted to the side with bangs framing her face and two low pigtails.

personality

Like most demons, she was cruel, callous, and capable of murdering humans.[1] After a long time with Rui, she developed a fear of him and the Spider Demon Father who abused her for being weaker than expected. This abuse was severe enough to make her fully embrace death rather than having to continue knowing that both Rui and the Spider Demon Father would continue to abuse her.[5] In her final moments, she seemed to have regained some of her feelings and memories as a human and seemed to have been genuinely touched by Tanjiro's kindness, thus helping him by warning him that a member of the Twelve Demon Moons was on the mountain and wished him good luck as she died. It was later revealed that compared to the rest of her "Family", she was technically the youngest Demon in the family (apparently the equivalent of a pre-teen girl in Demonic terms) and was still dealing with her previous human feelings and memories, causing her to cry and wail many times upon recalling them. Because of this, she became the target of a severe scolding by Rui, due to her inability to be a proper "Mother" to her "Children", who were all technically older than her.

Demonic Blood Technique (血けっ鬼き術じゅつ,, Kekkijutsu?): As a member of the Spider Family, he possessed the characteristic traits and abilities of a spider. With his technique he was able to perform:Thread Manipulation: Like the other members of the family, he was able to create multiple threads made of his own cells and manipulate them at will. These extended along his fingers and seemed to have a wide attack range. These threads had the function of sticking to his targets to turn them into puppets and move them at his will.
