HOME: Sahara Square

Sahara Square is a district for desert-dwelling mammals in the city of Zootopia. It is built on the opposite side of Tundratown's climate wall. Description Sahara Square is a sweltering desert oasis and resort district, designed for leisure, recreation, and other activities for Zootopians. Its architecture is composed of intricate clay and rock, mixed with lights and glass textures. It has extremely high temperatures, reaching up to 102°F in one day. It is inhabited by a number of desert-dwelling mammals, such as camels. It achieves its arid conditions thanks to a massive climate wall the district shares with the neighboring Tundratown, where the heat generated from maintaining the latter's frigid temperatures is released into Sahara Square. There are a number of high-end shops in Sahara Square, as well as casinos and the world-famous Palm Hotel. There is a central taxi system, largely run by the camels who take residence in the town. Upon learning that desert animals are mostly nocturnal due to the heat of daytime, as stated by art director Matthias Lechner, Sahara Square's designers incorporated many nighttime activities, such as casinos and the giant Palm Hotel surrounded by an oasis.

PHYSICAL APPEARANCE:

Finnick is a lithe, squat-bodied fennec fox with tan fur. He has a cream-colored face, paw pads and ears, from which sprout feathery, white hairs. His outfit consists of a a black shirt with a vertical red stripe, olive-green shorts, and dark sunglasses. Finnick sports brown eyes and has an extremely low voice in contrast to his tiny figure.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Nick Wilde: Finnick worked with Nick Wilde posing as his son to provide a plausible reason for why a fox wants to buy an elephant-sized Jumbo-pop. He then helps Nick with melting and refreezing it into smaller pawpsicles to sell to lemmings for a nice profit. After they finish their scam, Nick teases Finnick about their "father-son" kiss earlier. Finnick, tired of the teasing, breaks out of his "son" character, giving a violent and harsh farewell to Nick. Later in the movie, he praises Judy for out-hustling Nick and goes out of his way to revel in his friend's misfortune. Judy Hopps: When Judy meets Finnick, she falls for his and Nick Wilde's father-and-son act, believing him to be a toddler. She buys the Jumbo-pop for both Nick and Finnick and voices her encouragement for his "dream" of being an elephant before giving him a police sticker. When Judy spots Finnick again, she sees him and Nick making their pawpsicles and discovers that he is not actually a child. When Judy meets Nick again and blackmails him into helping her solve a case with felony tax evasion, Finnick laughs at Nick, praising Judy for hustling him. Finnick slaps his police sticker on Nick's shirt and leaves him with Judy, while Judy watches him go, smiling. Near the climax of the film, Judy visits Nick's van. Finnick opens the door, preparing to attack until he sees Judy. Judy pleads Finnick in compassion to help her find Nick, which he does. Overall, Finnick seems to like Judy's personality and quick-thinking. Finnick's lady friend: Finnick's relationship with his girlfriend is unexplored, but he appears to be very affectionate toward her.
