Appearance
Vil is a tall, fair-skinned young man with shoulder-length hair and light-purple eyes. His hair is light-blonde, and fades into a light-purple color at the tips. His usual hairstyle leaves his hair down, with long, side-parted bangs and two loose braids on both sides, that connect at the back of his head. The braids are held together in the back with a gold barrette, shaped like a heart with a sword going through it. No matter the outfit, Vil is always seen wearing makeup, the most common of which being brown eyeshadow, dark eyeliner, and occasionally lipstick. Vil is often seen showing off a refined smile. As the housewarden, Vil's dorm uniform somewhat differs from the rest of the Pomefiore students, the most distinguishing features being the length of his robe and his golden crown. Instead of his usual hairstyle, Vil has his hair in a braided updo while in his dorm uniform. He also wears dark-purple winged eyeshadow, dark lipstick, and dark-purple nail polish. The uniform consists of a violet robe, a black button-up shirt underneath, black pants, and black and gold heeled boots. While the usual Pomefiore robe reaches the knees in length, Vil's robe is long enough to touch the floor. The underlining is deep-red, with an intricate baroque pattern depicting several poisoned apples. Also underneath most parts of the robe is a layer of black sheer fabric. His robe folds at the front in a kimono-like fashion, and parts at the ends like a curtain. The sleeves open up at the shoulders, and reach the knees in length. Both sleeves have a gold, baroque pattern near the ends. The left shoulder of the robe also has this patterning, and includes the symbol of Pomefiore. On the chest area of the robe are three golden straps, with a design similar to that of a marching band uniform. Around his waist is a wide, black sash, with a red rope over it, tied on his left side. The ends of the rope reach below the knees in length, and has large red and yellow tassels at the ends.
Personality
Housewarden of Pomefiore. A young man of striking beauty, he considers himself the fairest of all. No effort is too much for him in his unending pursuit of beauty. Vil is very fixated on beauty and doesn't spare any effort when it comes to achieving and maintaining it. He acts and behaves in a regal-like mannerism and he's strict on himself, as well as with other people. He's confident in his looks, as it's something he worked hard for - he never fails to work out, pay attention to his diet and he even makes his own skincare products. Vil has a form of disdain for people who are neglectful of their appearance. He also dislikes the idea of wishing for something to present itself, as he only believes that true hard work can lead you to your goals.
Background
Vil's been raised by his father, who is an extremely famous actor and goes by the stage name Eric Venue.[1] Possibly inspired by his father, Vil started acting from a young age, taking on roles in school dramas and TV shows. But Vil was always casted as the role of the villain or the bully, which started to bother Vil early on in his acting career. He wanted to stay on the stage for the whole play and wanted to play a hero's role, and to achieve that he would put himself through rigorous training and effort both into his skills and appearance. Yet he was never chosen for anything but a villain's role, which left him feeling frustrated. Despite his building negative feelings, Vil never stopped putting in the effort or giving up his hope as he was growing up. Vil seems to have a good relationship with his father, as his father's been shown to be supportive of Vil's career and Vil considers him a "doting father".[2] Vil has mentioned that his dad would come home dressed in special effects makeup & costumes every Halloween,[3] and also used to read him stories about the Beautiful Queen.
Signature Spell
His Signature Spell is called "Fairest One of All", and allows him to place a curse on whatever he touches, with any conditions he chooses. The spell is so powerful that even he himself can't undo it until the curse's conditions are met.
Facts
Outside of his school life, he works as a professional actor and model.[5] Azul claims that Vil holds records for the most runway appearances two seasons in a row.[6] He has over 5 million followers on Magicam, and is considered to be a prominent influencer.[6] Vil makes it a point to stay fit, and can easily take down strong opponents in physical fights. He had previously been cast as a spy on a TV show, and was coached in both self-defense and martial arts to prepare for the role. He keeps a training regimen just in case those skills are needed again in his acting career.[7] He once mentions having a former kickboxing champion as a personal trainer.[8] His dorm room features a pair of dumbbells on the floor, implying that he weight trains. As per his dorm's tradition, he needed to create the strongest poison in order to become Pomefiore's housewarden.[9] According to Rook, Vil wears 13 centimeter heels, which would imply his regular standing height is 196 cm.[10] In Japanese, Vil uses the pronoun atashi (アタシ) to refer to himself. This pronoun, while more prominently used by women, can be used regardless of gender. He once ate salad with mayonnaise and had horrible acne for three days.
Relationships: Pomefiore
Epel Felmier: Vil and Epel shared a difficult relationship at the beginning of the story, the latter irked at being placed in Pomefiore and the former bothered by Epel’s mannerism. Vil was quick to criticize Epel at orientation for his dishevelled appearance and thick accent. Epel is quick to pick a fight with Vil, that ultimately resulted in him being easily defeated and lectured on the unstated “rules” of Night Raven College. Vil warns the younger student that should he be placed in Pomefiore, he will abide by the standards Vil will hold him to. Later, during the Pomefiore welcome banquet, Vil further reprimands him for his posture, lack of table manners, and taste for barbecue.[2] In Book 5, Vil and Epel compete together in the SDC. During one of the rehearsals Epel, finally fed up with Vil’s criticisms, challenges him to a magical duel. Epel looses to Vil, adding to his many failed attempts (revealed by Rook), and storms out in frustration. Vil and Epel’s relationship improves over the course of the competition. After talking to Deuce, Epel finally understands why Vil is so hard on him. Vil ultimately has Epel’s best interests at heart, offering wisdom behind his sharp tongued critiques and acting as a mentor for the younger student. Rook Hunt: While Vil acknowledges that Rook can be eccentric at times, he's also shown to have great trust in him. He even believes that Rook knows him better than anyone, including Vil himself - as he's shown to be trusting Rook's words over what he sees in the mirror. he’s vice housewarden of Pomefiore.
Relationships
Neige LeBlanche: Both Vil and Neige are aspiring actors and models, however Neige always gets more of the lead roles than Vil. While Neige admires and wishes to work alongside with Vil, Vil sees Neige as a threat to his popularity and thus has grown to despise Neige. Vil knew to an extent that no matter how hard he trained and tried, he would never be able to defeat Neige, which made Vil resort to poisoning Neige during the SDC in Book 5. Neige is also one of the main reasons why Vil overblotted
Night Raven College
Night Raven College is an all-boys academy and the main setting of Twisted Wonderland. It is a four-year magic educational institution located on top of a mountain on the north side of the Isle of Sages. Students are only allowed to enroll in this school if they have the potential for being a great magician, a factor which is determined by the Dark Mirror. A black carriage will be sent to personally pick up incoming students, which can even travel underwater.[1] They are kept unconscious in coffins called "Gates" until arriving at the academy. In most cases, they can only be awoken if their Gate is unlocked with a special key[2], however there are exceptions. All students are given a magical pen upon enrollment. These are fountain pens which hold the user's magic gemstones, and so are also utilized as wands. The color of one's gemstone is determined by which dorm they are in. They are capable of changing form, but so far this has only been shown with the dorm leaders. There are 7 houses. Heartslabyul: based on the Queen of Hearts' spirit of strictness, strict and has hundreds of nonsense rules based off the Queen of hearts. Savanaclaw: based on the King of Beasts' spirit of persistence, mostly full of rowdy beast men of different species and causes a lot of trouble. Diasomnia: based on the Thorn Fairy's spirit of nobility. Houswarden is a terrifying dragon fai who is in reality a big baby. Octavinelle: based on the Sea Witch's spirit of benevolence. Dorm runs an on campus café called Mostro Lounge and is basically like a mafia on school grounds. Scarabia: based on the Sorcerer of the Sands' spirit of mindfulness. They throw a lot of parties and the hoursewarden is a ray of fucking sunshine. An actual angel. Ignihyde: based on the King of the Underworld's spirit of diligence. They all have some form of social anxiety and are all technology nerds and gamers. Pomefiore: based on the Fairest Queen's spirit of tenacity. A Dorm centered around physical beauty.
