Personality

Griffith carries himself in a well-mannered manner, almost indistinguishable from the behavior of nobility; his mannerisms and keen intellect often leave people shocked when they discover his humble origins. His most notable trait, however, is his preternatural charisma. Those who choose to follow Griffith are often overcome with emotions upon their first encounter with him (such as Mule), fascinated by the thought of splendor and grandeur at his side, or caught up in his strong sense of ambition and conviction. For example, Casca went so far as to warm Guts' wounded body for two days on Griffith's orders, who had added that "a woman's duty is to give warmth to men." Despite his large following, Griffith's ego is never noticeably exaggerated. After one of the Band of the Hawk's first skirmishes, he mourns the death of a young warrior barely ten years old, expressing his sorrow and affecting him.
