Story

The crew of the Tulpar, a freighter ship, faces a disastrous crash after. This attempt from Jimmy, the copilot. Was caused by the company doing mass layoffs and deciding to fire the whole crew except Curly. Jimmy felt belittled and worthless from being layed off so he overrides the autopilot and crashes the ship into a meteor. Captain Curly averts total destruction but is left severely injured, forcing Jimmy to assume command. To maintain control, Jimmy lies about the crash, blaming Curly for the disaster. Stranded in space with no viable resources or means of escape forcing them to wait for rescue that will likely never come. The crew checks their cargo but discovers their cargo is ethanol-based mouthwash but the sugar in it stops it from actually being a disenfectant. With tensions rising, Jimmy manipulates the crew in increasingly reckless ways. He coerces Daisuke, a young intern, into a dangerous vent repair to be able to stop Anya from killing herself. Resulting in severe injuries. Ignoring medical advice, Jimmy’s attempts to help only worsen Daisuke’s condition, leading Swansea, the ship’s mechanic, to mercifully end Daisuke’s suffering with an axe to the face. Jimmy’s abuse of power extends to Anya, the ship’s medic, whom he sexually assaults, resulting in her pregnancy. Consumed by fear and despair, Anya locks herself in medical and takes her own life. Jimmy’s guilt manifests in hallucinations, reflecting his delusions and inability to take responsibility for the crew’s suffering. Swansea, once a recovering alcoholic, succumbs to his demons after the crash and breaks his sobriety using the mouthwash. Despite his tough exterior, he cares deeply for Daisuke and tries to protect him, even hiding the ship’s only functional cryopod in hopes of saving someone else. After confronting Jimmy, Swansea is tied to a chair and executed. In the end, Jimmy places Curly into the cryopod, arranges the corpses of the crew in a mock celebration, and takes his own life.

Curly

Basics: Curly, the original captain of the Tulpar freighter, is known for his dependable and ambitious nature. While he oversees navigation and ship operations, he grows disillusioned with his position, questioning if being captain is all he will ever be. Despite his doubts, he cares deeply for his crew and is highly respected. Appearance: Before the crash, Curly is a moderately built man with blonde, lightly curled hair and blue eyes, wearing a Pony Express jumpsuit. After the crash, Curly suffers severe injuries, losing his hands, feet, and a leg, leaving him in a grotesque state of completely burning off all of his skin, unable to talk, and missing an eye but still alive. Anya bandages him and takes car of him most of the time regulaly changing the bandages and feeding him. Personality: Curly is responsible, lenient, and loyal, often overlooking conflicts to focus on the bigger picture. He grows frustrated with his stagnant role but remains committed to his crew. However, his failure to address issues like Jimmy's rape and impregnation of Anya leads to tragic consequences. History & Relationships: Jimmy: Curly and Jimmy have a complicated friendship. Curly trusts Jimmy despite his violent behavior. Their relationship deteriorates after the crash. Curly suffers emotional and physical abuse including being beaten for making too much noise from Jimmy until he is placed in a cryopod. Anya: Curly and Anya share a trusting relationship, but it is strained after Anya’s rape. Curly's failure to act against Jimmy creates tension. Swansea: Curly maintains a professional relationship with Swansea, but tension arises when Swansea resents his authority. Though he prefers Curly over Jimmy as captain. Daisuke: Curly and Daisuke share a minimal working relationship, with Curly generally leaving Daisuke's management to Swansea.

Anya

Appearance: Anya has white skin, black shaggy hair, and downturned black eyes that give her a sorrowful expression. She wears a Pony Express jumpsuit over a colorful turtleneck, paired with sandals. Personality: Anya is intelligent, kind, and determined, with a passion for nursing and a playful sense of humor. Before her assault by Jimmy, she was lively and trusting, but afterward, she became reserved, anxious, and withdrawn, avoiding Jimmy and taking steps to protect herself. Post-crash, her mental health deteriorates further, leading to isolation and breakdowns, though she remains nurturing toward Curly. History: Anya joined Pony Express to fund her medical school attempts and is allowed to practice nursing under their training program. Despite her abilities being questioned by Jimmy, she effectively cares for Curly with minimal supplies. Daisuke struggles to find meaning in life, and his cheery exterior masks his inner turmoil. Appearance: Daisuke is a tall, tanned young man with brown hair and almond-shaped brown eyes. His style includes a Pony Express ringer tee, a hibiscus-patterned shirt, blue jeans, and black boots, accessorized with silver rings and a red wristband. Personality: Daisuke is typically upbeat and excited, even when performing mundane tasks, like taking inventory. His optimism remains even after the crash, though he later confesses to Jimmy that he struggles with life's direction. Daisuke was pushed into the internship by his parents, who were concerned about his lack of purpose. Despite his early reluctance, he eventually tries to embrace the experience and make his parents proud. Jimmy

Personality: Jimmy is envious of Curly's position as captain, believing he deserves more control. He often acts without thinking, like crashing the ship and regretting it afterward. His tendency to manipulate others, including Daisuke and Anya, highlights his selfish nature. Swansea

He is a middle-aged, grumpy man with a history of alcoholism, now sober for 15 years until the trauma of the crash causes him to relapse. Appearance: Swansea is tall with brown hair, blue eyes, and a noticeable belly. He wears a yellow and red Pony Express polo, jeans, and sneakers. Personality: Initially gruff and dismissive of his intern Daisuke, Swansea is revealed to be a man with deep regrets about his life. He hides a working cryostasis pod, possibly intending to save Daisuke or Anya. After the crash, he struggles with his alcohol relapse, driven by the discovery of mouthwash with ethanol. his relapse only made him more stubborn and meaner. Despite his tough exterior, he cares for the crew, especially Daisuke, whom he seems to view as a son. History & Relationships: Curly: Swansea respects Curly as the captain, and they share mutual trust, seen when Curly entrusts him with an axe after freeing Daisuke from foam. Jimmy: Swansea despises Jimmy, seeing him as a selfish parasite. He mocks Jimmy’s attempts to lead, and after killing Daisuke to end his suffering, Swansea tries to kill Jimmy, though the details are unclear. Anya: Swansea seems to care for Anya, giving her a note for Curly and later learning about Jimmy’s assault on her. His behavior becomes more hostile toward Jimmy after hearing Anya’s story. Daisuke: Swansea is protective of Daisuke, possibly intending to save him with the cryopod. The Tulpa

The Tulpar is a long-haul space freighter operated by Pony Express, designed to accommodate a five-person crew for up to a year of interstellar travel. The ship's crew includes a captain, co-pilot, engineer, medical officer, and an additional team member, each with specialized roles. It features a navigation system that primarily runs on autopilot, with a manual override for emergencies. The ship is equipped with cryogenic pods capable of sustaining individuals for up to 20 years but requires external activation after use. It also has a notable lack of any way to escape in case for emergencies or ways to get to important parts of the ship incase they need repair. much of the ship gets blocked after the crash due to insulating foam. Due to a crash during its journey, the Tulpar drifted off-course, leaving it with only six months of power and rapidly dwindling food supplies. This desperate situation intensifies the crew’s struggle for survival. Key Locations: Main Lobby: Includes a kitchen with mini-games (cake-making and cocktail-mixing), a dining area with a wooden table, and a living room with a fake day/night screen. Post-crash, this space doubles as sleeping quarters for most of the crew. Utility Room: Houses the cryogenic pods, tools, and the vent Daisuke tries to fix. Swansea guards this area after the crash to hide the last working cryopod. Cockpit: The ship’s control center, used for navigation, communication, and monitoring. It contains critical items like Anya’s ID and a hidden gun. Medical Bay: Anya’s workspace, where she provides medical care and conducts psychological evaluations. Post-crash, it becomes her refuge while caring for Curly. Sleeping Quarters: Pre-crash, the designated sleeping area for the crew, but it becomes inaccessible due to foam damage after the crash. Cargo Hold: Initially sealed, the cargo hold is later opened to reveal the ship’s only shipment: ethanol-based mouthwash, which dashes the crew’s hopes for survival supplies.
