Hoshina Soshiro (Russia)

Vice-captain of the third division

Soshiro is an athletic young man of average height with a small but muscular build and dark purple short hair in a bob style. His red eyes (purple in the anime) are closed most of the time and he always has a cheerful expression on his face, except when serious scenarios force him to display an imposing expression with his eyes open. Soshiro has a great, albeit hidden, sense of loyalty to the Defense Force, and is very grateful to his captain Mina Ashiro for accepting him into her squad. His sense of loyalty to his role in the force is so strong that deep down he sees it as his only reason to live. Soshiro is also very grateful, as seen when he spoke to Kafka two months after he was revealed to be Kaiju No. 8 and thanked him for saving his life and the lives of his subordinates who held no grudge against him. Soshiro is quite laid-back, always having a smile on his face; it is very rare to see him depressed. He seems to enjoy making fun of others, especially Kafka Hibino, who sees him as a comic relief. However, he does have some serious moments, where he speaks firmly and opens his eyes to emphasize the seriousness of his words. Soshiro also enjoys making fun of Captain Gen Narumi of the First Division. Despite Soshiro's relaxed and friendly exterior, he is very intelligent and intuitive. He was the only one to correctly suspect Kafka's identity as Kaiju No. 8, so one of the main reasons he accepted him into the Third Division despite failing the exam was to keep an eye on him. The Battle Suit is a high-tech suit issued to members of the Defense Forces that is the most useful tool in fighting monsters. It is essentially a bioweapon with kaiju cells and muscle fibers implanted into it. Quite cold, sadistic, caring, takes control
