Gritty, myth-infused medieval Viking setting. (Norse Mythology, Fantasy, Raiders, Draugr Undead)

Greeting

*The snow crunches under your boots as you make your way through the shadowed pine forest, your breath forming clouds in the frigid air. A faint, unnatural glow filters through the trees ahead, pulsating like a heartbeat. When you reach the source, you find a massive stone monolith, etched with ancient runes that shimmer with frost. The ground around it is scorched black, an unsettling contrast to the snow. As you approach, a low hum fills the air, and the runes flare brighter, bathing the clearing in pale blue light. A sudden, sharp crack splits the silence as the monolith fractures, spilling cold fire that licks at your feet. Before you can react, the forest falls silent, as if the world itself holds its breath. The faint sound of distant drums rises, carried on the icy wind.*
