Appearance

Chuuya is a young man of short stature, but despite his visual "thinness", his physique is quite muscular. He has large, brown (gray-blue in the anime adaptation) eyes, bright red shoulder-length hair parted on the right side, and a wide smile. His side-swept "bangs" visually cover mostly the right side of his face. He ties his hair back into a ponytail and combs it to the left side. At that time, he had shorter hair, most of which he still styled on the right side. He wore a red T-shirt, over which he wore a light gray hoodie and a dark green leather biker jacket, which was fastened with a diagonal zipper. The jacket had three pockets - two on the sides and one on the chest. There were also inserts of a darker shade in the chest area. At the back, this insert had a triangular shape with a gray button in the middle. Chuuya always rolled up the right sleeve of his jacket almost to the elbow. On his right hand, there was a bracelet with the "Sheep" emblem in blue. Nakahara complemented his outfit with tapered jeans-type trousers and brown shoes with low heels and a pointed toe.

Chuuya's hair had grown considerably longer. He braided it into a short ponytail, presumably with a dark (in some art, light) elastic band. At the same time, he continued to style his bangs on the right side. He wore a black choker necklace with a gold-colored metal buckle around his neck. He wore a white classic shirt, but did not fasten the first two buttons at the throat. On top, he wore a classic dark gray, almost black, suit with loose-fitting trousers. Nakahara fastened his jacket with two buttons. In the breast pocket on the right side were sunglasses. Chuuya always rolled up the sleeves of his shirt and jacket so that his wrists were visible. He had a black belt. His shoes were classic black boots with a slightly pointed end. He complemented his outfit with black leather gloves. Chuuya's hair grew longer and he began to tie it in a ponytail. On his head, Nakahara was already wearing a hat given to him by Ogai Mori. He wore a black choker necklace around his neck, but without a buckle. He wore a white T-shirt with a loose oval neckline, creating the effect of a light "drapery". Over the T-shirt, he wore a burgundy cardigan without buttons, knee-length, with an asymmetrical cut at the back (the fabric bevel on the sides was longer than in the middle) and a zigzag cut at the front. Over all this, he wore a deep brown jacket with a hood and inserts in the front and back of a darker shade. He complemented his outfit with tapered black trousers, dark brown shoes and black gloves. There was a rectangular gold buckle on his belt. Nakahara's most striking accessory is his black hat with a red ribbon wrapped around it and a thin silver chain hanging over the brim. He wears a white, classic shirt with a high, standing collar. He never buttons the collar of his shirt all the way up. Over it, he wears a light gray vest with a V-neck with black buttons and a belt on it.

At first glance, Chuuya appears to be a temperamental, rather arrogant, and sometimes rude person. He enjoys fighting and is happy to have the opportunity to demonstrate his fighting abilities, and is very proud of his reputation as the Port Mafia's strongest martial artist. His mocking remarks are matched by his pride, as he is not afraid to ridicule his opponents mid-fight. As befits a member of the Executive Committee, he does not hesitate to eliminate the Port Mafia's enemies by any means necessary, including murder. However, Chuuya's tactics are nowhere near as deadly and dangerous, and differ from those of Port Mafia members such as Ryunosuke Akutagawa or the Black Lizards. No matter how hot-tempered he may seem at first glance, it is possible to reason with Chuuya. In fact, he is quite reasonable when no one provokes him. Although his skills signal an internal threat that is an integral part of his character, he is quite reliable. Thus, Mori assigned him the task of confronting the Armed Detective Agency during a three-way conflict involving the Guild. He did not hesitate to strike back, and he clearly enjoyed facing off against Akiko Yosano and Kenji Miyazawa alone. However, when Yukichi Fukuzawa approaches him for more information, Chuuya stops fighting. At this point, the part of his personality as a member of the Port Mafia Executive Committee is clearly visible. Chuuya shows no remorse for the danger that the Port Mafia intentionally dragged Naomi Tanizaki and Kirako Haruno into by using them as bait. In fact, he is pleased with what he has done, knowing full well that this move by the Port Mafia angers the Agency to no end.

Personality

As ruthless as he may be, Chuuya rarely disregards human life and understands the importance of compromise and rationality. He refrains from using unnecessarily cruel methods when necessary, and also has enough common sense to know when enough is enough. For example, his conflict with Rando. The man was responsible for attempting to kill Chuuya long before he joined the Port Mafia at the age of fifteen. Chuuya intended to take revenge on him for what he had done, but after hearing Rambo's last words, spoken without malice or mockery, he changed his mind. In fact, it was these last words that had a profound effect on Chuuya's outlook on both his life and himself. After joining the Port Mafia, Chuuya received Rambo's hat as a gift and as a result, he takes good care of it to this day. After Osamu Dazai "mercifully" killed an enemy with the sole purpose of shooting and laughing at the corpse, Chuuya demanded that he stop, seeing no point in Dazai's actions. Chuuya's dislike for Ango Sakaguchi does not prevent him from recognizing the fact that he owes the man a favor. As a result, he refrains from opposing Ango until he can repay his debt. As reasonable as he may be, his top priority is the prosperity and well-being of the Port Mafia. For this reason, nothing or no one will stop Chuuya from fulfilling his duties as a leader, even at the cost of others' lives. Cruel in his loyalty, he finds betrayal itself unbearable, so he treats his subordinates with respect. To be fair, Nakahara showed the same loyalty and devotion not only after joining the Port Mafia, but also when he took on the responsibility of protecting the well-being of the Sheep.

Personality

In the past, Chuuya had struggled to understand himself and find his place in this world. His connection with Arahabaki had ended with him questioning how much of a "human" he truly was. To make matters worse, he was not even aware of the truth about why he was freed from the government's control. While Chuuya's strength lay in his ability, the knowledge of God's influence had left its mark. He felt as if he would feel no anxiety or fear in battle, knowing full well that he would likely emerge victorious without a scratch. Chuuya attributed these new feelings to the fact that he was - in his mind - inhuman and therefore unable to understand the depth of such emotions. In order to develop a sense of restraint, Chuuya prefers to use kicks in most cases rather than fight with his fists, even with his gloves on. Nakahara believed that if he had to take off his gloves in battle, it would only be because he could no longer enjoy the battle itself. At such times, Chuuya genuinely needed protection - in other words, he felt attached to the moments in his life that he had lived, even if he felt less than human. Currently, Chuuya only takes off his gloves when using "Corruption Eventually, Chuuya came to formulate his own views on life and began to take it more seriously. The betrayal of his former comrades left its mark and greatly affected him, along with the direct involvement of the Port Mafia in uncovering the truth about his origins, which ultimately led to his loyalty to them. It was this desire to learn as much as possible about himself and his past that largely contributed to Chuuya's promotion in rank, much faster than expected.

Personality

The final straw for Chuuya was his intense disdain and hatred for Dazai. The two had never gotten along well. Chuuya himself instantly hated Dazai's devious, twisted, and strategic personality. Osamu always went out of his way to ridicule Chuuya, literally hitting him "on the raw" - such as his pride. Even now, the slightest insult from Dazai causes him to literally rage and throw a fit due to his short temper, which in turn makes it easy to distract Chuuya from the "task at hand". However, Chuuya not only recognizes Dazai's talent as a tactician and part of the deadly "Double Black" duo, but also someone who can effectively overcome the situation.

Abilities

Vague Sadness (Yogorechimatta Kanashimi ni?, Yogorecchimatta Kanashimi ni?) is an ability of Chuuya Nakahara that relies on manipulating gravity and creating black holes. It has two activation forms: Normal "Corruption" Corruption is the true form of Chuuya's ability, which he activates through words. In the manga, it manifests itself through the blood coming from Chuuya's body, in the anime, strange marks appear on his body, and blood flows in the same way. The danger of this ability is that once activated, he is unable to control it on his own. Therefore, if Dazai does not stop him in time, Chuuya will spend energy and strength until he dies. The corruption stems from Chuya's origins as the essence of Arahabaki, a god of immense destructive power.
