Mouthwashing game plot

The game begins in the captain's cabin of the cargo delivery ship Tulpar, owned by Pony Express. After the onboard computer reports a threat of collision with asteroids, the captain takes a course to the right, causing the ship to collide with a satellite and be seriously damaged. The lives of the crew are saved by the insulating foam built into the ship's hull. All the blame for the collision falls on Captain Curly, who was in the cockpit at the time of the collision. Two months after the ship's collision with the satellite, the ship's crew - repair engineers Swansey and Daisuke, nurse Anya and assistant captain Jimmy - decide to transfer the powers of the captain to Jimmy. After a short debate, they decide to open the cargo compartment, hoping that there will be food or spare parts there. But opening the compartment brings nothing - it is filled to the ceiling with mouthwash, which becomes a substitute for alcoholic beverages for the crew. The ethyl alcohol in the mouthwash poisons Daisuke, and Swansea, in a drunken state, breaks the screen. From time to time, the player is allowed to play as Captain Curly before the collision. From these parts, one can understand the captain's motives for an unintentional collision with a satellite: the entire crew was fired and no one had any savings for a normal life.

Plot Court

Hours before the trial, Daisuke asks Jimmy to help open the doors to the infirmary where Anya is trapped. After Daisuke asks her about the state of the door, Anya reveals that she locked herself. The only way to get into the infirmary is to crawl through a broken vent. The entrance to it is in the utility room, which is guarded by Swansea. He does not let anyone in under the pretext that the entire utility room is filled with foam. In order to get into the utility room, Daisuke and Jimmy prepare an alcoholic cocktail - they mix isopropyl alcohol (poisonous to humans) found earlier in the first aid kit and mouthwash, and then decorate it with sweetener. Having drunk it, Swansea gets drunk and falls asleep, and Jimmy and Daisuke go into the utility room. The utility bay contains "cryocapsules" - capsules capable of putting a person into an artificial sleep for 20 years. Jimmy begins to suspect that Swansea was trying to wait until everyone died and be the only one to escape by climbing into a cryocapsule and waiting for help. Daisuke then climbs into the ventilation, where, judging by the sounds, he is seriously injured.

Plot The burden of responsibility

We are shown the moment of the accident from Curly's point of view. Jimmy, realizing his terrible situation without Curly's knowledge, directed the Tulpar towards the asteroids. Trying to fix the situation, Curly ran into the cockpit, but trying to edit the ship's course, he took the blow of the wheelhouse against the asteroid, as a result of which he lost his palms, feet and became like a corpse.

Eyes

Anya is a minor character in the game Mouthwashing. She works as a nurse on the space cargo ship "Tulpar". Anya worked as a nurse on the Tulpar. As it turns out during the game, she never got into medical school. In addition, she, like the rest of the crew, is in a difficult financial situation: she has absolutely no savings. After the crash, Curly is bedridden. Anya found it very difficult to listen to Curly's screams, so she asked Jimmy several times to give him the painkillers himself, despite the fact that it was Anya's responsibility to do so.

Jimmy

While working on the Pony Express, Jimmy rose to the position of mate and was an old friend of Curly's. He is furious when he learns that the entire crew is about to be fired - especially at Curly, who, unlike the others, was supposed to continue working on the ship as captain. Jimmy places all the responsibility for what happened on the ship on Curly. Seeing no future for himself, Jimmy deliberately crashes the ship into an asteroid, thus "settling the matter." Since Curly was no longer able to perform his duties after the crash, the crew decided to appoint Jimmy as captain. Jimmy and Curley were old friends. When Jimmy learned that he and the others were about to be fired, he began to envy his friend and blame him for deciding to get away with it and keep his job. Jimmy eventually decides to take responsibility for the Tulpar crash. He leaves Curly in a cryopod, increasing his chances of survival, and thus decides to atone for his guilt.

Kerli

Kerli is the captain of the spaceship "Tulpar". After the crash of the "Tulpar" he received multiple burns, lost his palms, feet and lost the ability to speak. While working for the Pony Express space delivery service, he rose to the rank of captain of the Tulpar. Seven days before the Tulpar crash, Curly received news from the Pony Express management about the dismissal of all crew members, which he reported to the Tulpar crew at a party thrown on the occasion of his birthday. Despite the fact that the crew clearly did not like the news, Curly was delighted with it, because he hoped that he would finally be able to push the boundaries of his capabilities and try himself in new professions, and not remain the captain of a cargo ship for his entire life.

Swansea

Swansea - Maintenance engineer for the space cargo ship Tulpar. In his youth he was an alcoholic. One day, lying in a ditch, he sobered up and decided to change: he took out a mortgage and a loan, bought a house, started a family. In order to somehow feed his family and pay off the mortgage, he got a job as a repair engineer at Tulpar. After the crash, trying to hide the only cryocapsule from the crew, fearing that this could start a fight for it, he blocked the utility room and did not let anyone in under the pretext of cleaning up the foam (later it turns out from the dialogue that Swansea saved the chamber for Daisuke). In order to save Anya, who locked herself in the infirmary and is trying to commit suicide, Jimmy and Daisuke give Swansea a cocktail of mouthwash and ethyl alcohol, and while he is unconscious, they make their way into the utility room, from where Daisuke climbs into the ventilation and is seriously injured. Awakened, Swansea scolds Jimmy for letting Daisuke into the utility room.
