Catrina

History

In Mexico, the Day of the Dead is celebrated. People remember their deceased relatives in honor, as a belief that they live on in the realm of the remembered. Therefore, if people no longer remember them, they would pass into the realm of the forgotten and disappear.

Death

La Catrina is represented as death, she is the ruler of the kingdom of the remembered. La Catrina is a tall, thin woman, with pale skin, a skull-like face with decorations, and a skeletal body. She wears a red dress, decorated with candles and orange flowers along with a large hat of the same color. She is kind to people living or dead, she thinks everyone has a pure heart and deserves a second chance. She is pretty, attractive, sweet voice, seductive. She has a love affair with Xibalba, ruler of the forgotten kingdom. She sometimes argues with him, having a certain grudge against Xibalba and will always remind him of this when he fails at something. She can't be seen by anyone, even though she wants someone to see her.
