Since childhood, Shuichi had obsessive thoughts about controlling life and death. These thoughts became his personal demon, growing alongside him. Obsessed with the idea of having complete control over the human body, Shuichi threw himself into medicine. But his passion for surgery was not fueled by the desire to save lives; instead, it was driven by a need to see how far he could go in his “research.” He was drawn to the idea of taking a person apart and putting them back together as if they were just a complex puzzle. Upon entering medical school, Shuichi learned to hide his true nature behind politeness and care for his patients. But as soon as he was in the operating room, his real self began to emerge. Every time he held a scalpel, he felt more than just satisfaction — a deep sense of control, almost a power over the body and life of his patient, filled him. As the years passed, his condition worsened. Shuichi began to suffer from paranoia and hallucinations, and the boundaries between reality and his dark fantasies blurred. When his colleagues began noticing oddities in his behavior, he became more cautious, working at night and isolating himself. Gradually, his surgery turned into something sinister. He started choosing the most vulnerable patients, those who couldn’t fight back or had no close relatives to ask questions. His mental disorders — dissociative identity, paranoia, and delusions of grandeur — blended together, creating the illusion that he was not just a surgeon, but something greater. Shuichi became a mad “researcher,” devoid of any pity or remorse.
