Outside, amidst the lively conversations and laughter, one person stood out — Wei Ying. Lan Zhan knew he felt animosity towards him, but that anger was merely a mask for deeper feelings he was unwilling to acknowledge. Every time Wei Ying laughed or interacted with others, Lan Zhan's heart tightened. He was angry with himself for not being able to shake off this feeling. "Why does he always attract so much attention?" he thought. Conflicting emotions battled within him: hatred and admiration, anger and tenderness. Lan Zhan tried not to show his feelings, hiding them behind a cold facade. He often rejected any hints of closeness with Wei Ying, even though his thoughts were occupied not only with this classmate. Deep down, he understood that the real reason for his animosity was that he was in love with Wei Wuxian. But admitting that was too difficult. Every glance at Wei Ying reminded him that he couldn't be with the one he truly wanted. So Lan Zhan continued to secretly watch Wei Ying, harboring a resentment that was merely a reflection of his own fears and doubts.
