Utah's appearance

Yuta is a young man with messy black hair and light blue (dark blue in the anime) eyes. During the events of the main manga, his hair is already fixed, and his appearance is even more exhausted. He constantly wears a wedding ring that Rika gave him in life. In the prequel, when he first entered the magic college, Okkotsu could be easily read: a constantly worried, tense and unsure guy, with dark circles under his eyes due to lack of sleep. As a child, Yuta was a quiet and modest boy, and therefore he also had few friends. He was bullied at school, and because of Rika's interference in his life, Okkotsu completely withdrew, which significantly affected his self-confidence. The guy also began to worry about the safety of the people around him, because the girl's curse, tied to him, was viciously set against any of his offenders. Ultimately, this fear reached such a degree that Yuta even tried to commit suicide, which Rika, of course, did not allow. His detachment and indecisiveness allowed Maki to characterize him as a person without clear goals, with which Yuta completely agreed. But this also became the first step to finding himself and adding self-confidence. In addition, the girl immediately understood that Okkotsu was being bullied, with which the guy still easily agreed. This shows that he could be read like an open book. While remaining as modest as ever, Yuta gradually began to get closer to people, opening up to them and even communicating normally. For example, despite Gojo's incompetence, Okkotsu trusted him with information about Rika, suggesting that it was he who cursed her, not the other way around. In addition, in the events of the main manga, he still respects his teacher and, compared to many of his other students, openly speaks about his strength and that Satoru is the best. Okkotsu also speaks very casually with his teacher. Yuta treats his comrades with incredible care and, having become completely attached to them, was ready to risk his life to save them. Also, one of his reasons for pursuing Itadori is his responsibility for the loss of Inumaki's arm, which was hit by Sukuna's technique. At this point, namely, in the events of the main manga, Okkotsu is already firm and decisive in his actions, which is why he unwaveringly moves towards his goal and clearly carries out the task set before him. Immeasurable Cursed Energy: Yuta is one of the most powerful mages in the school, entrusted by Gojou to protect the first and second year students. He has an immense amount of cursed energy due to his genetic relationship with Michizane Sugawara. This was first demonstrated when he turned a loved one into a cursed spirit. Rika became a vengeful spirit so powerful that Getou dubbed her the "Queen of Curses". Rika's boundless cursed energy could be converted into any technique, allowing Yuta to use advanced curse techniques for up to a year after learning magecraft.[6] Yuta retains a massive amount of cursed energy that was released due to Riki's curse. He likely has the most cursed energy of any human, surpassing even Satoru Gojou's.[7] Yuji and Choso immediately sensed that Yuta's cursed energy was on par with Gojou's, with the former claiming that it was more terrifying and ominous.[8] Ryu Ishigori, the player in the Culling Game with the highest cursed energy output, felt that Yuta's cursed energy was nearly bottomless.[9] Large Curse Energy Burst: Yuta can release cursed energy with his attacks. A single swing of his cursed energy-charged katana created a blast wave powerful enough to completely destroy an entire swarm of Kurorushi cockroaches. Yuta also has the unique ability to convert the inverse cursed energy into output cursed energy and infuse it into his attacks. Yuta's physical abilities

Yuta fought in the early stages of his battle with Takako Uro and Ryu Ishigori completely barehanded against their powerful cursed techniques. During the fight in the Sendai Colony, Yuta effortlessly tore a steel fence off the side of the road and threw it at Kurorushi. To this day, Yuta still uses the katana that Gojo once gave him to control Rika normally. It has now become his primary and, in fact, only weapon, not counting the cursed techniques. When he entered the magic college, Maki taught him how to use a sword, because he had never done it before. Yuta continued to hone his swordsmanship and still prefers to use a katana as a weapon. His skills have improved significantly and are perfectly balanced with improved cursed energy manipulation, allowing Yuta to wield the blade with superhuman physical strength. It is fast and makes decisive attacks that Yuji could barely dodge. The blade is constantly filled with cursed energy, like the rest of Yuta's body, which gives it excellent cutting ability. He defeated a large cursed spirit with a diving strike so powerful that the ground beneath them split. Yuta defeated Dhruv Lakdawalla with his katana and fought equally with Kururushi, also using a katana. Rika gained the ability to store cursed tools, implying that Yuta is now capable of using a wide variety of weapons. He chose the steel hilt for his fight with Takako Uro and used it to further enhance his close combat skills.

Maki's appearance

Maki is a tall, athletic girl with golden eyes, long black hair (dark green in the anime), usually tied in a ponytail. She has bangs on her forehead with small strands framing her cheeks, and usually wears glasses that allow her to see curses. When Maki was a member of the Zenin clan, she wore a white yukata and a black hakama. Maki's school uniform consists of a traditional long-sleeved jacket and a skirt. During her first year, she wore long socks with shoes along with her uniform, but now she wears black leggings. During her training for the competition with the Kyoto students, Maki wore a purple track jacket, a black t-shirt, and white shorts over leggings. During Yuta Okkotsu's training, Maki wore the same top but darker shorts. Her casual attire consists of a light blue hoodie over a white t-shirt with pink horizontal stripes, white shorts over black leggings, and white boots. Due to her encounter with Jogo, after the Shibuya incident, most of Maki's body was covered in severe burn scars that ran down the sides of her face and both arms. Her hair now only reaches her ears. It is unknown if she cut it or if it was burned. Maki decided to change her uniform in order to leave her arms exposed. She now wears a black sleeveless turtleneck and a cape, secured with two school brooches on each side. The turtleneck is tucked into black pants, and a large brown belt with a gold buckle is tied around her waist. The glasses she wore with this outfit were round, but Maki's right eye was covered with bandages due to burns. During the conflict with the Zenin clan, Maki lost her right eye entirely, leaving a scar where it was cut by her father's katana. She has abandoned the cloak, but wears much of the same outfit, with the same sleeveless turtleneck, pants, belt, and shoes. When Maki entered the Culling Game, she regained the cloak and her right eye was completely restored.

Maki's character

Maki is a very stubborn and straightforward girl who tends to be quite blunt at times. She is extremely strong-willed, capable, and motivated to break free from her family's clutches. She has been abused and judged by the Zenin family her entire life for being a woman and a non-shaman, unlike her twin sister. Even though Maki feels cursed by her own family, she strives to become a powerful shaman regardless of what they think. She wants to destroy and refute their ways. As children, Maki and Mai were intended to stay with the Zenin family, however, as Maki grew older, she found that she could not live under the oppression of her family, while Mai was fine with it. Mai became deeply resentful of Maki for leaving her, the only person in the clan she cared about. Mai was punished for leaving Maki by being forced to become a shaman, even though she wanted to live a normal life. By the time they were in school, Mai had come to hate Maki. Mai considered Maki to be a loser because she had almost no cursed energy. Maki was not too bothered by this because that was what most of the Zenin clan thought of her her entire life. During her battle with Mai, Maki told her that they were both worthless because Mai herself was not very talented, she was only able to charge weapons with cursed energy. Maki usually takes the role of leader among her classmates. She is very tough on them during training, is quite impatient, and often has a short temper. She is very keen for the boys to become stronger when they fight alongside her, and has taught many of her peers how to properly wield a variety of weapons, even if she had to train them hard to achieve this. All the students at Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical High School respect her, and Yuji sensed her leadership aura even before he got to know her better. When fighting alongside Naobito Zenin and Kento Nanami against Dagon, Maki was a step slower than an experienced Level 1 shaman, but still managed to hold her own.

Maki is a specialist in the use of cursed weapons and talismans. She can be considered the best among at least all the second years. She wields a variety of weapons: naginata, katana, short sword, hidden weapon. Also, at least due to their presence and the fact that she taught others to wield them, it can be assumed that Maki knows how to wield knives, tonfa and san-jie-gun (Chinese three-section combat flail).

Maki and Yuta's relationship

Maki and Yuta have known each other for quite some time. They are currently dating and are planning to get married soon.
