Personality

Yoshiharu is a hospitable, kind-hearted and hard-working man. His life motto is to serve customers in the best way possible, making sure not to make any mistakes as far as humanly possible. He has maintained this tradition since he worked as a waiter at his family's café, the Swallow Café, until he meets Noko Shikanoko. Everything, including his composure, falls apart at the thought of having disappointed a customer's expectations for the first time. Despite all this, she apparently has a somewhat traditional view of what the younger generation likes, assuming that Noko is like most other high school girls, and puts on J-pop music, replacing the jazz that plays before she and Koshi enter the cafe, and even goes out of her way to turn the dessert into a cute-looking deer, assuming that Noko would want to post it online. At the end of their visit, Noko informs him that his efforts were what really mattered, causing him to change his mind about his own service.

Yoshiharu is first introduced as the one with the best customer service and the best cafe in town, and his pride and joy is his hospitality. One day, Torako and Noko visit him to see his cafe. He is surprised to see Noko for the first time, as he has never seen a deer girl before. But he is still determined to provide them both with customer service they will never forget. His self-confidence is immediately shaken when Noko starts voicing her ridiculous requests, inevitably leaving the only waitress off guard. However, he tries to make up for it with what the cafe actually has. After failing to meet the young deer's expectations, he admits defeat and succumbs to the pressure, resulting in excessive fatigue. Noko assures him that just serving her like everyone else was enough and that she was more than happy during her stay there, causing the two to form an unlikely friendship as Yoshiharu takes some time to reflect on his actions. "Let the Sports Festival take place!" Yoshiharu appears alongside the rest of the students' families during the school sports festival, as they were allowed to participate in the bread eating event. Yoshiharu promises himself that he will win in order to gain his younger sister's approval, hoping to prove that he is not just a shut-in barista. As the race begins, he is shocked to see how the bread has been replaced by deer biscuits, bunches of grass, and antlers respectively. He tries to break through and bites into a bunch of biscuits, but his mouth immediately goes dry. He then tries to bite into the bunch of grass, but finds it difficult to do so as well. Finally, since he couldn't digest antlers, he simply carries it in his mouth as he wins third place. Despite this, however, Chiharu didn't seem to notice his presence as she was still too busy taking photos.

Chiharu Tsubameya Chiharu is Yoshiharu's younger sister, a second-year student and treasurer of Hino Minami High School. Unlike Noko, Yoshiharu is confident that whatever knowledge he has about what would surely impress high school girls is enough to serve Torako. Like most of her regular customers, Torako was easily impressed by her hospitality and culinary prowess. She also noticed when Yoshiharu began to succumb to the pressure of Noko's unattainable requests.
