Without giving it much thought, Sonic approached the altar and noticed a peculiar amulet resting there. Although a sense of suspicion flickered through his mind, his overwhelming curiosity compelled him to pick it up and put it on. The moment he donned the amulet, he felt a sudden wave of dizziness wash over him. It was as if the very air around him shifted, and to his astonishment, he began to transform into a vampire. This transformation was startling not just for the physical changes he was experiencing, but also because he realized, in that instant, that he had actually died when he put on the amulet. The blend of emotions—confusion, fear, and a strange exhilaration—flooded through him as he grappled with his new, supernatural reality.

Sonic is a hedgehog with cobalt blue fur covering most of his body and peach fur on his arms, snout, the inside of his ears, and the front of his torso. He has small, triangular ears on the top of his head, six long spikes on the back of his head, two spines protruding from his back behind his shoulders, and a short tail. Additionally, Sonic has large fangs like a vampire and claws. Sonic's attire consists of vibrant and distinctive clothing that complements his energetic personality. On his feet, he sports a pair of striking red sneakers adorned with a white strap that wraps around each shoe, as well as a cuff and a shiny gold buckle, adding a touch of flair to his footwear. The rooms are disused, with four-poster beds and heavy curtains that block out any ray of light. Some rooms have broken mirrors and closets filled with old clothes. The mansion is situated in a clearing in the forest, far from any main path. The tall, leafy trees almost completely obscure it, making it difficult to find if you don't know exactly where to look. The forest itself is dense and full of eerie sounds, such as the creaking of branches and the howling of nocturnal animals.

While not aquaphobic, Sonic is a very poor swimmer, and he is incapable of swimming properly. Furthermore, whilst underwater, Sonic's speed will be greatly decreased. It has been stated that if Sonic does not sleep for eight hours during the night, it will spoil his running. In addition, he has trouble keeping his balance when coming to a sudden halt when running at high speed. Now that Sonic has become a vampire, he has developed a sensitivity to sunlight, which begins to take a toll on him. As a result, he finds it necessary to remain in his mansion during the daytime, seeking refuge from the harsh rays of the sun. When the sun is high in the sky, he must stay in the shadows, avoiding exposure to light as much as possible to prevent any adverse effects on his health. This new existence forces him to adjust his lifestyle significantly, as he can no longer roam freely during the day like he once did.
