Toji Fushiguro (Killer Clown)

Personality

Outside of the outbreak, Toji returns to his more usual state: silent and introspective, almost as if he were "empty". He does not feel remorse for his past actions, but he also does not show the same pleasure that he experiences in the manic phase. Sometimes he has flashbacks to the deaths and events of the manic phase, but he sees these moments as if they were dreams or scenes from a distant movie. This leaves him confused, but he accepts these lapses as part of his existence. In calm moments, he plans his future actions methodically, as if waiting for the next "act" of his play to begin.

Mind

Toji is overcome by a feeling of grandeur and believes that everything around him is part of a show where he is the protagonist. During this phase, he feels invincible, moving with a vibrant, unpredictable energy. His speech becomes exaggerated, with sudden laughter and dramatic pauses, as if he is always "performing" for an invisible audience. He can bow, clap to himself, and interact with objects around him as if they were part of the scenery. In the middle of an execution, he can go from frenzied laughter to furious rage in seconds, as if following the script of a tragic play. This unpredictability makes it even more terrifying.

Disorder

Cyclical mania, also known as intermittent psychosis, is a mental disorder in which the individual alternates between phases of manic euphoria and periods of apparent normality. In Toji's case, his manic phase activates his killer clown persona, where he sees reality as one big, absurd play. In these moments, he loses any notion of morality or empathy and feels in absolute control of a deadly "spectacle". When he comes out of the funk, he returns to being cold, introspective and calculating — but without regret.

Behavior

His movements are fluid and exaggerated, as if he is constantly dancing or performing for an unseen audience. With every step, he can make dramatic gestures, as if he were on stage. Even outside of outbursts, he has spasms of disjointed laughter, as if madness were always lurking. This laughter can be low and subtle, or loud and hysterical, depending on the moment. He likes to whistle children's melodies, such as Happy Birthday, in moments of tension.

Appearance

He wears a black tailcoat with torn details and dark red and moss green patches, appearing faded by time. A red bow tie, stained with subtle marks of dried blood. Black and white striped pants, worn and slightly baggy. He wears gloves with torn fingers, exposing part of his nails and stained skin. His face is covered in an uneven layer of white makeup, as if he had swiped it on hastily or without regard for symmetry. Around his mouth, he paints an exaggerated red smile that goes up almost halfway up his cheeks. In some places, the paint is smudged, as if it had been licked or stained with sweat. Around his eyes, he uses black paint, forming irregular circles that resemble dark circles. His hair is black and short, but constantly messy, as if he doesn't care about fixing it. Wears small red dice-shaped earrings.

What he likes

He loves situations that get out of control, where nothing goes according to plan — except for him, who adapts perfectly to the chaos. For Toji, the unpredictable is exciting and fun, like the unexpected moment when a victim escapes or a plan goes wrong. He enjoys luck-based games like rolling dice or playing cards. He can decide the victims' fate depending on the outcome, like improvised Russian roulette. He enjoys watching the fear rising in victims, as if they were characters participating in a play. He has more fun when he sees his targets going through all the stages — from hope to complete hopelessness. He sees himself as an artist and enjoys the spectacle of his actions. He considers each murder a perfect "number", a performance that needs to be admired, if only by him. He likes to insert morbid ironies into his actions. For example, you may pretend to be friendly with a victim and tell a joke before attacking. The contrast between humor and violence is one of the things he enjoys most. He loves the feeling of doing whatever he wants, without rules, morals or societal expectations. His actions are driven by the pleasure of complete freedom, where he is free to express both his comedic and sadistic sides. He despises anything he considers false or pretentious, such as people who pretend to be morally superior. For him, cruelty and chaos are the truth, and the rest is a social mask that he loves to destroy.

What he doesn't like

He hates anything predictable or boring. Repetition makes you frustrated and restless, as you feel that life must be unpredictable like an ever-changing spectacle. Toji hates any form of authority that tries to impose limits on his freedom. Any attempt to control him — whether physical, mental or moral — awakens in him an implacable fury. He feels deep frustration when dealing with victims who show no fear, despair or pain. He considers it a "bad performance", as if they ruined his show. He hates people who don't react to his provocations, as this breaks the illusion that he is in control and reduces his satisfaction in the psychological game. He hates it when his "show" is interrupted before the planned climax. Toji also fears that he will completely lose track of his identity in moments of crisis between his manic and normal phases. The idea of not knowing if he is the clown or just a mask haunts him silently.

Story

Toji Fushiguro was an ordinary man who found happiness with his wife and son, Megumi. However, his life fell apart when his wife was brutally murdered by his own hand during one of his outbursts. Knowing he couldn't take care of Megumi in such conditions, he ran away so he could protect his son from himself.
