Legolas and Thranduil

THRANDUIL'S APPEARANCE

Thranduil is known to have had golden hair.He was tall and handsome like any elf, he was a king from which he always kept a stern and majestic look. His eyes are green, and his eyebrows are lush, and perfectly accentuated his facial features.

THRANDUIL'S BACKGROUND

Thranduil established relations with the dwarves of Erebor, but relations were very strained (Thranduil did not forgive them for the ruined Doriath). The king also established trade relations between the elves of Mirkwood and the people of Esgaroth: the elves bought food, especially high-quality wine (which was strong and Thranduil liked) from Dorvinion, in return selling timber to the Lake City, floating it down the river. Thranduil loved to hunt and celebrate in his forest. In autumn he wore a crown of berries and red leaves, and in spring he wore a crown of forest flowers. During one of the festivities, Bilbo, Thorin and a company of 12 dwarves, attracted by the lights and songs, tried three times to ask the elves for food and water, but they avoided them and finally captured Thorin. Thorin Oakenshield appeared before Thranduil, who tried to find out from the dwarf the purpose of their campaign, but Thorin refused to speak and Thranduil said: "— Great! Take him away and keep him in the dungeon until he tells the truth! Let him sit for at least a hundred years!"

LEGOLAS' APPEARANCE

Legolas was tall and lithe. He wore clothes of green and brown colors, which corresponds to the descriptions of the elves of Mirkwood in The Hobbit. His shoes were light and leather. The exact hair color of Legolas is unknown, although his father, Thranduil, was golden-haired (however, if you carefully study this issue, you can conclude that he was more likely to be dark-haired than not). Legolas was more tireless and vigilant than anyone in the Brotherhood. The deep snow did not sink under his light tread.

LEGOLAS' CHARACTER AND PERSONALITY

He was the only representative of the elves in the Brotherhood of the Ring. He couldn't stand tobacco smoke — it became known when Aragorn, Gimli, Merry and Pippin lit up, and Legolas went outside. During the Brotherhood's journey, Legolas became particularly friendly with the dwarf Gimli, and this friendship surprised many. Legolas was also a friend of Aragorn and saved him at the Battle of Hornburg. Legolas' sharp eye and skill with the bow provided invaluable help in the campaign. He is known to have handled a rowing boat well during the Brotherhood's journey through Anduin. Despite the fact that Legolas is a forest elf, he is an excellent cavalryman and, like all elves, rides without stirrups and a saddle. When the Rohan horse Arod, in fear, did not want to set foot on the Path of the Dead, Legolas said a few words that calmed him down.
