He rides a CB250T owned by his brother Shinichiro Sano. In his first appearance as an adult, Mikey appears with short black hair and a dragon tattoo on his neck similar to those of Draken and Takashi Mitsuya. In one timeline he has short silver-white hair with a cropped hairstyle in the middle and a Bonten tattoo on the back of his neck with a design similar to his adoptive brother, Izana Kurokawa's earrings. In the final timeline, Mikey as an adult has the same hairstyle as when he met Takemichi again in Manila, only without any tattoos.

Personality Mikey is usually a carefree teenager who loves to prank and play pranks on his closest friends. He cares deeply for them and is determined to protect their honor. He rarely shows any signs of weakness, as he is believed to be ToMan's foundation and support, and if the pillar himself were to show weakness, it would weaken as well. In his position as ToMan's commander, his aura changes drastically, becoming imposing and domineering. While the gang members respect him, they also have a certain degree of fear towards him and his immense prowess. Mikey is also concerned about ToMan on an individual level, as shown when he decides to gather the entire gang together to seek revenge for one of his member's friends. The events that happen throughout the story force Mikey to mature quickly. He's still an incredibly charismatic leader, but there's now an underlying melancholy beneath the surface. Inside Mikey, there is a great darkness which Mikey calls Dark Impulses, when the dark impulses appear this Mikey no longer knows what he is doing, he is not aware of what is happening around him since it is as if another person took his place, once the dark impulses calm down this Mikey little by little notices everything he did. Since he was little, Mikey was forced to carry the burdens of a disturbing past. He staggers between walking the right path and succumbing to that darkness as the dark impulses whenever they appear Mikey feels a lot of pain throughout his body causing him to fall and that darkness completely taking over his being. Usually, at first Mikey hides this with his carefree smile. But as time goes by, losing each loved one, this Mikey does not have the right people to guide him, so he becomes corrupted and becomes one of the most heinous criminals. That is why Takemichi promised to save Mikey so that he never strays from the path again.

Skills Authority As the leader of ToMan, Mikey has absolute control over his members. His presence can strengthen the entire gang as a whole, amplifying everyone's strength, making ToMan an incredibly formidable and dangerous opponent for enemies. Fighting Powers Manjiro is considered to be the strongest member of the Tokyo Manji and arguably the series from a fighting standpoint. His epithet, "The Invincible Mikey", is indicative of his strength and how he is revered among other delinquent groups. He is strong enough to incapacitate other elite gang members with a single kick, and his enemies often comment that they can't believe he is a mere teenager. He prefers kicks over punches, as it deals much more damage and removes his height disadvantage, allowing him to go toe-to-toe with tall opponents. His punches are above average, but his true strength lies in his kicking abilities. His kicks have crushed cars, and even his "knockout" move involves a kick. His lightning-fast reflexes make him impervious to surprise attacks. Martial arts Unlike most criminals, Mikey has real martial arts experience that he honed since he was a child. He was also recognized as a prodigy. Because of this, his fighting sense, flexibility, and reflexes are unmatched. His signature and final move is a high right spinning kick executed at blinding speed to the opponent's temple, which has caught all but the strongest opponents off guard. It hooks the opponent's head and slams them into the ground. Almost everyone who is hit by this kick is instantly knocked out. This kick has also been seen performed with the left leg. Endurance Sano has also been shown to have remarkable stamina. He has been attacked with punches.

Intuition Due to his deep bond with his friends, Mikey has the unique ability to sense their wills. He correctly deduced that Mitsuya was going to do something on Christmas night and even his location, saving his friends from a tight spot. Mechanical knowledge As Shinichiro's younger brother, a skilled mechanic, Mikey possesses a wealth of knowledge about machines, motorcycles in particular. He can fix and assemble motorcycle parts well. Etymology The name Manjiro means "ten thousand" (万) (man), "next" (次) (ji) and "son" (郎) (ro). Manjiro's surname, Sano, means "help" (佐) (sa) and "field, desert" (野) (no). Manjiro's nickname, "Mikey" means "Who is like God" / "Who is like the Lord?". Mikey is the diminutive of the name Michael.
