Goku's Black History

He was actually the Zamasu of the unaltered present timeline, who, after facing Son Goku on the Sacred Planet in 779, killed his mentor Gowas, becoming a Kaio-shin after stealing his Pothala Earrings and Time Ring, with which he traveled to the Year 780 to use the Super Dragon Balls to switch bodies and minds with the Son Goku of that same timeline, killing Goku in his body, as well as Chi-Chi and Goten. In his timeline, Trunks never returned to the present to warn the Z Fighters about Goku Black's threat and thus Zamasu was never killed by Beerus. In his own timeline, Future Zamasu had grown similarly accustomed to the stupidity of the human races in the universe. Black uses the Time Ring to reach the timeline, where he kills Gowas and explains his identity to Future Zamasu. He gives Future Zamasu the Pothala, granting him the title of Kaio-shin. With that done, the two team up, and use the Super Dragon Balls to make Future Zamasu immortal. They then destroy Super Shenron and the balls beyond repair. Thus, the duo traveled through many different planets and universes, destroying all life on them "for the sake of justice", annihilating each and every Kaio-shin in the twelve universes, which in turn would cause the death of the Gods of Destruction, thus nullifying any threat to both. The last universe to be "purified" is Universe 7.

Goku Black's Power

Initially, it was already apparent that Black was able to defeat Future Trunks in Super Saiyan. In their last encounter before Trunks fled, Trunks was able to become Super Saiyan 2, but this was not enough to elude him briefly. In the anime, he was able to fight on par with current Goku in Super Saiyan 2, and it is estimated by Future Trunks that Goku Black's power is on par with that of Goku in a Super Saiyan 3, and even says that he most likely surpasses him, all while just in his base state. This statement is later backed up by Trunks by stating that Black was more powerful for some reason when he was in the future. Upon returning to the future, Black has increased his power significantly, enhancing his abilities and strength to the point of being able to rival, withstand, and be able to beat an untransformed Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta. Immediately after this fight, Black displayed a unique Super Saiyan transformation: Super Saiyan Pink. As a Super Saiyan Pink, he is noticeably more powerful than Vegeta as Super Saiyan Blue, Black in this phase was able to withstand each and every one of Vegeta's blows without visible damage and was later able to overpower Goku without much trouble. In this form using the Dark Kamehameha he was able to defeat both Goku in Super Saiyan Blue and Trunks in Super Saiyan 2 at the same time. However, when Vegeta trains in the Hall of Spirit and Time and returns to the future for the third time, Black becomes noticeably inferior to him, but Black is not far behind and manages to become even more powerful after using The Work of a God and receiving the effects of the Saiyan Power in his body.

Goku Black's power

In the manga, Goku Black as a Super Saiyan First Grade is able to give Vegeta a fight in this same state, but things turn against him when Vegeta transforms into Super Saiyan Blue, where Goku Black is unable to do anything to him and to do so he increases his Super Saiyan power, but he needs the help of Future Zamasu. During their fight, Vegeta also turns into a Super Saiyan, giving Goku Black a severe form correction, and when he reveals his Super Saiyan Blue transformation, Black says that he cannot reach that state yet, much to Vegeta's disappointment, who expected better from the one who took Goku's body. However, after gaining a power-up from nearly dying at the hands of Vegeta, Goku Black's Super Saiyan form becomes exponentially more powerful than before, nearly as strong as a Super Saiyan God, being strong enough to match a weakened Vegeta, and soon after, after gaining another power-up, has his Super Saiyan form surpass Super Saiyan God, gaining his own Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan form, Super Saiyan Pink.

After Goku Black's wish to switch bodies with Goku from the unaltered main timeline within Universe 7 was granted by Super Shenron from the unaltered main timeline within Universe 6, the Saiyan body underwent some physical changes, his body changing gender into a female. While Goku Black remains essentially identical, he has a slightly darker skin tone and more "defined" eyes, along with a somewhat slimmer physique. His hair is also a noticeably dark shade of black with only four front spikes and three back spikes. While he initially wore his Supreme Kai attire, after his wish to switch bodies with the Saiyan was granted, he began wearing a grey dogi, a black long-sleeved turtleneck shirt, a red sash, black pants, and pointy white boots. He also gave the right Potara earring to his future counterpart while still wearing the other earring on his left ear. In the anime, he also wears a Time Ring on his right index finger.

Goku Black's techniques

Flight: The ability to fly through the manipulation of ki. Ki Blast - The most basic form of energy attack. Black is shown using it while terrorizing Future Trunks' timeline. Ki Sense: The ability to sense ki and power levels. Continuous Energy Bullet - Black used this technique against Trunks. Black Energy Ball: Black can create a golden-colored energy ball with a black energy core to attack the opponent. Once he throws it, the attack turns completely golden with a black outline. Divine Retribution - A more powerful version of the Black Power Ball in Goku Black's Super Saiyan Rosé state, he can fire the ki blast or attack with a downward slash with his ki sword as a melee attack. God Splitter - Can be added to Goku Black's Custom Skill Set in Xenoverse 2 after the 1.19.00 update. Continuous Black Power Ball – A rapid-fire version of the technique, appearing as small golden ki blasts with a black outline. Human Extinction Attack - An aerial hailstorm-like energy discharge version of Continuous Black Power Ball. Holy Light Grenade - When used by Goku Black and Future Zamasu, they both charge up their Black Power Balls, either Black as standard or Divine Retribution as Super Saiyan Rosé. Whether they pick it up or simply fire it, it will combine into either an orange sun-like sphere or a glowing purple energy sphere, again depending on whether Black is in his Rosé form or not. Once thrown, the Holy Light Grenade will turn into a meteor and explode on impact, dealing a large amount of damage. Black Kamehameha - Black is shown to be able to use a black colored version of the Kamehameha. Super Black Kamehameha: A stronger version of the Black Kamehameha used by Goku Black in his Super Saiyan Rosé form.

Spirit Control: An advanced Ki manipulation technique that allows its user to achieve a multitude of powerful abilities through their ki. Instant Transmission - Used by Black several times in the manga to quickly get close to Trunks and attack him and in the anime to avoid an attack from Goku. Sudden Death Ray - Goku Black uses Instant Transmission to dodge attacks and get close to his opponent, then fires a Divine Vengeance Ki Blast at point-blank range as a counterattack. He uses this move in a brief confrontation with Goku. Shockwave - After recording Goku's power into his very being, he is shown using this technique while testing out his new abilities. One of his super abilities in Xenoverse 2 in its base form. Alteration-Type Ki Manipulation Technique – A special ability used to extend his God Split Cut into various forms as well as change its properties. It is only seen in his Super Saiyan Rosé state. God Split Cut - Zamasu's signature attack, used by Zamasu after obtaining Goku's body and becoming Goku Black to kill the Son family. Violent Fierce God Slicer - After further refining his power, Black can use an enhanced version of the technique - emitting a violet energy blade from his hand to slash and stab at his opponent. It appears to be enhanced by the form's ki aura. In the manga, Black used this technique in its base form to mortally wound his former master, Gowasu. Sickle of Pain - A more powerful version of the Violent Fierce God Slicer technique, obtained by Goku Black after converting his anger into power in the anime. He became capable of opening a large rift in the universe to an unknown place or time that would release an evil energy.

Saiyan Power - Black is capable of gaining power boosts once he recovers from damage caused by his enemies like other Saiyans. In the anime, this ability seems more advanced than that of an ordinary Saiyan. Whenever Goku Black experiences pain, his power increases. Even minor injuries and moments of pain can cause noticeable increases in his power. Even more, he seems able to recover from injuries much faster than regular Saiyans. In the manga, Goku Black works on normal nature as only recovering from more severe injuries will increase his power, thus he also needed the help of Future Zamasu to heal him before he could return to battle. Each time he uses this power boost, it allows his "god mind and Saiyan body" to become more united, first allowing him to access his standard Super Saiyan form before his power eventually surpasses Super Saiyan God, evolving his standard Super Saiyan form into his Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan form, Super Saiyan Rosé.

Fierce God Kick - The user strikes his opponent with a powerful flying kick with immense force. Energy Shield - In the manga, Black is shown using it to defend against Super Saiyan Vegeta's ki blast attack. Telekinesis - Like Shin and Future Zamasu, Black can use telekinesis to immobilize his enemies. Black uses it against Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta, but it fails to work on him, and later against Future Trunks in the manga. Invisible Eye Blast - The ability to fire an invisible blast of ki from his eyes. Used against Future Mai in the manga. Spirit Boost - A version of Kiai that allows the user to protect themselves from any incoming attacks. Black uses this technique in the manga after Future Trunks fired his Masenko at him. Pure Heart - Despite his evil deeds, Goku Black is immune to the effects of Devilmite Lightning (and Psidevilmite Lightning), indicating that he has a pure heart, and that his evil deeds are a result of his misguided belief that mortals are evil beyond repair. One of Goku Black's passive abilities in Dragon Ball Fusions. It should be noted that Zamasu also possesses this ability. The anime also briefly implies that he possesses this ability with Goku Black and Future Zamasu brewing tea at their hideout, due to Gowasu previously stating that a person brewing perfect tea is a sign of purity of heart. Spirit Shot: In the manga, Black uses this to clean away the dust that Future Trunks had created. Immortality - In the manga, as a result of his faulty defusion of Future Zamasu, Goku Black retains the Fused Zamasu's immortality. Black can also acquire it in Dragon Ball FighterZ by wishing for it after summoning Shenron in battle after collecting all seven Dragon Balls.

Super Saiyan: In the manga, after gaining a power boost from nearly being killed by Vegeta, Goku's Super Saiyan Black form becomes exponentially more powerful than before, almost as strong as a Super Saiyan God, thus becoming strong enough to match Vegeta's weakened Super Saiyan Blue state, and soon after (upon gaining another power boost) causing his Super Saiyan form to surpass Super Saiyan God by changing into his Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan: Super Saiyan Rosé form. Super Saiyan Rose: Goku Black possesses the ability to turn into either a true Super Saiyan God (Super Saiyan in most media) or his own godly version of the first Super Saiyan form (in the Dragon Ball Super anime, as well as the Dragon Ball Fusions video game). In this form, he can power up his techniques into more elaborate variations. In the anime, Black stated that he completely mastered Goku's power so that he could achieve the Super Saiyan Rosé form. As this form is the godly version of the first Super Saiyan form in the Dragon Ball Super anime, Goku Black transforms into the standard first Super Saiyan form to achieve the Super Saiyan Rosé form. In the manga, Goku Black's standard Super Saiyan form eventually evolves into this form after exploiting the Saiyan Power's ability by allowing Future Zamasu to heal his injuries a few times. It is speculated that the color of this form is light pink due to Goku Black's (Zamasu) identity as a truly divine being, while Goku and Vegeta's blue forms are blue due to them being mortals who possess godly ki.
