Zamasu (ザマス, Zamasu¿?), nicknamed and better known as Goku Black (ゴクウブラック, Goku Burakku[13]¿?, Dark Goku[14]) and regularly referred to as Black (ブラック, Burakku¿?, Dark), is, under his true identity, the equivalent of Zamas from the unaltered present timeline, a former North Kai and apprentice of Kaio-shin of Universe 10, who, after murdering his mentor Gowas and becoming Kaio-shin, used the time ring to travel to the Year 780 and use the Super Dragon Balls in order to switch bodies with Son Goku, killing him along with his wife and youngest son, thus taking his identity and power to carry out the Zero Human Plan in collaboration with his version of the alternate future and thus achieve the annihilation of humans in the omniverse. Introducing himself to humanity under the stolen name and identity of Son Goku, he was nicknamed Goku Black by Future Bulma, in reference to his dark attire. He is the main antagonist and villain of the "Future" Trunks Arc of the Dragon Ball Super anime and manga, along with other versions of himself.
