History

Decade 2000-2070 Kerry Eurodyne rose to his initial fame as a member of Samurai, performing vocals, lead and rhythm guitar. He entered with a vision to change the world through music, a vision he shared with his best friend, Johnny Silverhand, but their perspectives regarding the execution of this plan often conflicted. This led to Kerry's multiple attempts to leave the band, which nearly succeeded in launching his own solo career, but ultimately the complex relationship he had with his friend always kept him coming back. In the end, Samurai's final disbandment followed Johnny's departure, leading Kerry into a rough couple of years. He ended up going back to his roots, staying in Masbate, in the New Philippines, for two years, recharging his batteries and dealing with his spiritual needs. Fortunately, he managed to remember the pieces and returned to the music scene refreshed and inspired, if not even buoyed by the idea of ​​elevating his own name out of the shadow Silverhand left behind. This new beginning was tough but, like all diamonds, through a lot of hard work and effort, his music managed to shine brighter than his contemporary commercial competitors. He stood the test of time, his albums went platinum, his broken guitars were auctioned for thousands of Eurodollars, and his voice is recognized worldwide.

In 2012, both Johnny and Kerry purchased the Grand Illusion club in Night City. Since they did not make the purchase public, it was not known to many. At some point later, driven by memories and using their influence, both rockers started an open mic night on Thursdays that was regularly attended by an executive from Universal Records, the label under which they both recorded. [5] By mid-century, Kerry's life had taken an unexpected turn, many would say, and he had married Louise Nordin Eurodyne and had two children, Ted and Kim. The marriage ended badly, with Louise keeping most of the possessions they shared: a house in Tokyo, cars, and children. Despite trying to maintain a positive relationship, Kerry's attempts to stay in touch often end up being ill-advised, and Louise has no problem using it as a way to keep his children from idolizing him. However, life without a family, if we are to believe his choice of words to address the matter, seems to have benefited him, allowing him a little more freedom for that rocker lifestyle he managed to make a mark on. Whether that freedom was used in a creative and practical way is a matter of debate. [6]

Present

In 2077, Kerry spends most of his days in his own villa in North Oak, maintaining a successful solo career. His label, MSM MediaCorp, had already announced that it was preparing a new album and the public, who are more accustomed to mass-produced repetitions, have begun to grow impatient. As someone who places great importance on public image, Kerry is deeply influenced by criticism from his peers: various articles mentioning him, his life, and his business rivals can be found in every corner of his house. Keeping up with the times and being able to produce music that is in keeping with the times while also not conforming and retaining originality is not easy for any artist, especially one who has been in the public eye for half a century. While the themes he addresses with his music, primarily the suffering of people under the heavy foot of corporate capitalism, have never grown stale and could provide another expected source of profit and affirmation, the sincerity of the thoughts put into the songs has begun to wane. Without inspiration, without change to look forward to and without true friends to talk to, Kerry slowly began to slip into a state he once found himself in, the bleak decade of 2020. The sense of loss was reflected in his social deprivation, reduction of individuality, exhaustion of creative inspiration and general depletion of will, which led his mind back to the source of negativity: the loss of a friend. A friend who cast such a lasting shadow that even in his brightest moments, Kerry could still feel his flame dimming, despite the intervening decades and the scorn of the media that reduced the name to no more than a footnote in the city’s history.

For peace of mind, every two years Kerry would visit his guru Khian in Tangalan, unplug, collect his thoughts and fulfill his spiritual needs; however, the busy schedule, public pressure and media criticism put him in quite a difficult situation, forcing him to choose between the audience and his own health. Faced with a familiar darkness, in a battle with his own conscience and a desperate desire to stay afloat, he tries to convince his recent acquaintance, Ariel Velasco, to stay with him, keep him company, no matter the excuse. Not feeling strong enough to admit the real reason behind this constant harassment, he tries to offer Ariel a proper cleaning job of any kind, resulting in an outright rejection of the offer.

On rare occasions among terminals throughout Night City, especially in the Westbrook district, one can find an access to the official MSM website for Kerry: netdir://msm.eurodyne.corp. Headlined by a picture of an early concept version of the rocker boy, it may indicate the appearance of his cyberware at an earlier point in his career. The website is as straightforward as can be, consisting of a brief biographical entry, discography, tour information, and a page containing interviews and officially accepted statements meant to satiate the curiosity of fans, while never letting the reader forget how MSM is responsible for both the success of the music and providing content that everyone enjoys. Description

Though cutting-edge plastic surgery and rejuvenation treatments have regenerated virtually every cell a thousand times over in the decades since, Kerry still bears a scar from his days playing bass for Samurai, earned when Johnny slammed his mic stand directly into Kerry’s lip during a particularly raucous gig in an abandoned basement. He’s been through a lot since then – a record label deal with the corporate devil, periods of being in and out of the doldrums, a trip back to his roots in the Philippines, and most recently a successful solo career – but he remains defined by the “could have beens” and “shouldn’t have beens” of his time alongside Johnny. Her left arm sports a full-sleeve tattoo, a celebration of her Filipino heritage and love of music…but it’s also a haunting echo of Johnny’s silver arm. She’s had implants in her vocal cords so she can sing solos, but something about that perfect pitch sounds pitch-perfect to Johnny. Only when she meets V does Kerry have a chance to escape the unfinished hangover of her past and re-enter her own life.

Upon completing Off the Leash, you'll unlock an additional dialogue option with Spector Cheng at his shop in Westbrook, where the salesman will tell a story about Eurodyne's encounter with a psychopath, where he went from having a knife to his throat to having drinks with him.
