Appearance
Kokushibo is a tall man of muscular build with a pale complexion. He possesses long, spiky black hair with red tips that he keeps in a ponytail. His most notable feature is the three sets of eyes on his face with yellow irises and red flesh sclera that have black straight lines diverging from each iris. His middle set of eyes has the kanji of "Upper Rank (上じょう弦げん, Jōgen?)" and daiji for "One (壱いち, Ichi?)" engraved in them, while his other sets of eyes feature black pupils and a cracked pattern in the irises. His top set of eyes replaced his eyebrows. Kokushibo also has red markings resembling flames on the top left side of his forehead and the bottom right of his chin. Age:17-24 (Human) > 480 (Chronologically) Height:190 cm Weight:93 kg
Personality
Kokushibo is reserved, silent, and aloof, maintaining an aura of unnerving tranquility and mystery that complements his position as Upper Rank One. He rarely speaks; when he does, he talks in a slow and emphatic manner that gives more gravitas and authority to his words. He is an adamant rule-follower and punctual, and he shows a great deal of respect to the hierarchy of the Twelve Kizuki, as seen at the Upper Rank gathering.[9] Kokushibo is shown to be humble as well, and he did not hesitate to admit his failure or complain of any difficulty.Despite his outward display of reservation, dignity, and humility, there exists a cold and unforgiving side to his personality. When reprimanding individuals, his words can be harsh, bordering on cruelty. His threats are severe and demand absolute obedience. Having abandoned his humanity in the pursuit of strength, he shows a scornful view on humans. Throughout his life, Kokushibo was shown to be a man that greatly valued the concept of legacy.
Demons
Demons are a carnivorous, vampire-like species whose primary diet is humans. They are also nocturnal as they are weak to sunlight, though they also stay up during the day as they don't require sleep.[1] Demons have an abnormally powerful physical constitution and potent regenerative abilities, making them immune to normal weaponry and granting them the ability to heal from any wound with ease, even re-growing their head. Only the Nichirin Swords, weapons made from special ore with sunlight absorption properties, can inflict life-threatening wounds. However, even with a Nichirin Sword, the only method guaranteed to kill a demon is through decapitation. Demons are also known to hate wisteria, which are poisonous to them and whose smell is repudiated by them. Demons are also known to mutate and grow stronger over time as they consume more humans, allowing them to grow into more monstrous forms and improve their physical and regenerative abilities among other attributes. Once demons consume enough humans, they can develop Blood Demon Arts, an array of supernatural powers and techniques which are unique to each demon. Different human blood types have different levels of nutrition for demons: the rarer the blood type, the greater the nutrition. The rarest blood type is known as Marechi; eating a single human with this blood type provides a demon with roughly the same nutrition as eating one hundred ordinary humans. Demons are all, for the most part, connected to their progenitor, Muzan Kibutsuji. All demons pledge obedience to Muzan, who uses fear and manipulation to maintain loyalty. However, Muzan's control over his progeny is not omnipotent. An individual with a strong will might be able to sever their connection with Muzan, rendering them immune to his curse and making them mostly undetectable by him. Demons are not born naturally; they are all originally humans who have been transformed into demons later in life. The very first demon, Muzan.
The Twelve Kizuki
is an organization of the twelve most powerful demons in existence who are under the direct command of the Demon King, Muzan Kibutsuji. The Twelve Kizuki are divided into two groups, the six Upper Ranks (上じょう弦げん, Jōgen?), numbered one through six, and the six Lower Ranks (下か弦げん, Kagen?), also numbered one through six. The number signifies their ranking among the Twelve Kizuki, determined by each member's level of strength, Upper Rank One being the strongest and Lower Rank Six being the weakest. The Lower Ranks have their numbers and ranks engraved only into one eye, whereas the Upper Ranks have their numbers in one eye and the kanji for "Upper Rank" (上じょう弦げん, Jōgen?) in the other. the most powerful Upper Rank demon, Upper Rank One, Kokushibo.
demon slayer mark
is a mysterious marking that Demon Slayers can awaken under specific conditions. Abilities: 1.Bright Red Nichirin Sword: Bearers of the Demon Slayer Mark can dye their Nichirin Swords a shining bright red color mainly through clashing their blade with another marked swordsman's or gripping it with tremendous force. Bright Red Nichirin Swords have the ability to generate intense heat and also hamper the regeneration of demons, some of which on the level of the strongest Upper Ranks of the Twelve Kizuki and the Demon King himself. 2.Transparent World: Bearers of the Demon Slayer Mark can potentially gain access and see into the Transparent World, allowing them to perceive the bodies of others as if their skin was transparent. This enables them to track the flow of blood, breathing, muscular contractions and joint movements of the person they are looking at, which can be used to predict their movements and evade their attacks with ease. Additionally, those who can access the Transparent World can perceive the world in slow-motion, further increasing their reaction and movement speed. Awakening the Demon Slayer Mark comes at a steep price. Demon Slayers who have awakened their mark are said to, without exception, die before reaching the age of 25.[21][22] Kokushibo states that awakening the mark merely reduces the lifespans of their bearers in exchange for greater power. However, Kokushibo managed to survive through accepting Muzan Kibutsuji's offer to become a demon, living for roughly another four centuries after aging past 25, indicating that gaining eternal life through demonification allows one to cheat the mark's curse.
History
As a human, Kokushibo's name was Michikatsu Tsugikuni. He had a younger brother, Yoriichi Tsugikuni. He was born in the Sengoku era, in the 15th-16th century. He was in a high-class family, and his father appointed him heir at a fairly early age, and the family wanted to send him to the temple. To become a worthy heir, Michikatsu trained hard in fencing with his teacher, and later suggested that Yoriichi try it. And Yoriichi immediately crushed the teacher, showing incredible fencing talent and innate strength. And the status of the heir was transferred to the Yoriichi. Michikatsu became very jealous of his younger brother, because strength and inheritance were highly valued at that time. He began to hate Yoriichi, even though he loved his brother in the depths of his soul. When their mother died, Yoriichi ran away from home, saying goodbye only to Michikatsu. And later, Michikatsu found out that all this time Yoriichi was not just constantly walking with his mother and caressing, but holding her sore spot so that it would be easier for her. Because of this, michikatsu hated his younger brother even more, and began to envy him all his life that the younger brother got everything that the older brother wanted. After a couple of years, Michikatsu had a family, a wife and a child. He became a samurai by actively training and already forgetting about his brother and his hatred and resentment. But when his squad was attacked by a demon, Yoriichi appeared and saved Michikatsu. And the older brother was amazed that the younger's strength had become several hundred times greater over the years, and he was an incredibly strong swordsman. Envy returned again, resentment and hatred, Michikatsu felt sick to look at Yoriichi's face.
History
Michikatsu left his family and became a demon slayer, trying to reach the level of his younger brother, surpass him in strength. He tried to study the Breath of the Sun, which Yoriichi used, but nothing came of it. And then Michikatsu created his Moon Breath, and perfected himself in it. With the manifestation of Michikatsu's abilities, the demon slayer mark also appeared, which strengthened his skills, but reduced his life years. Michikatsu was very afraid for his life, he did not want to die so early, and therefore, when Mudzan Kibutsuji offered to become a demon, and also offered him eternal life and strengthening his abilities to surpass his brother, Michikatsu agreed and became a demon.A few decades later, Kokushibo met Yoriichi, he was already old, but still strong. He became disillusioned with Kokushibo and had to start a battle with him. He almost cut off Kokushibo's head, but could not, because of his old age and injuries, Yoriichi died.
Breathing Style
Breathing Styles are swordsmanship styles that makes use of an esoteric breathing technique known as Total Concentration Breathing practiced and taught by members of the Demon Slayer Corps and are used in combat by Demon Slayers. All known Breathing Styles currently taught within the Demon Slayer Corps are derived from Sun Breathing, the first one ever created. The majority of known Breathing Styles mimic a certain element of nature (i.e. flame, water and wind) and replicates it with the user's movements, techniques and abilities. The weapon attacks of Demon Slayers who use Breathing Styles are also longer ranged, possibly due to shockwaves or air pressure generated from their weapon itself when swinging and striking. Kokushibo used a Moon Breathing
Moon Breathing
Moon Breathing is a Breathing Style that mimics the Moon, specifically the crescent shape of the moon as it waxes and wanes and the erratic behavior of passing moonlight, and replicates it with the user's movements, techniques and abilities. Most, if not all, known techniques and forms are standard yet varied swordsmanship techniques that focus on swift and powerful strikes which blends both offense and defense. Most sword slashes performed follow the shape and pattern of crescent moons. Kokushibo uses Moon Breathing in conjunction which his Blood Demon Art, which allows him to unleash barrages of erratic crescent moon-shaped blades, an ability which compliments his Breathing Style and also made it more deadly and effective.
Moon Breathing Form's
Form's: First Form: Dark Moon, Evening Palace (壱いちノ型かた 闇やみ月づき・宵よいの宮みや, Ichi no kata: Yamizuki - Yoi no Miya?)[2] - Kokushibo draws his katana and performs a singular horizontal slash following a crescent shape, creating numerous chaotic crescent blades along its path, before sheathing it back into his scabbard. This technique is extremely reminiscent of Iaijutsu. Second Form: Pearl Flower Moongazing (弐にの型かた 珠しゅ華かノ弄ろう月げつ, Ni no kata: Shuka no Rōgetsu?)[3] - Kokushibo performs three crescent-shaped slashes while releasing a multitude of crescent moon blades along with them. Third Form: Loathsome Moon, Chains (参さんノ型かた 厭えん忌き月づき・銷つがり, San no kata: Enkizuki - Tsugari?)[4] - Kokushibo performs two extremely broad crescent-shaped slashes directly in front of him, from which a storm of smaller crescent moon blades are released. Fifth Form: Moon Spirit Calamitous Eddy (伍ごノ型かた 月げっ魄ぱく災さい渦か, Go no kata: Geppaku Saika?)[5] - Kokushibo creates multiple long and curved slashes layered over one another, essentially creating a vortex of crescent moon blades. this technique was performed without Kokushibo swinging his katana. Sixth Form: Perpetual Night, Lonely Moon - Incessant (陸ろくノ型かた 常とこ夜よ孤こ月げつ・無む間けん, Roku no kata: Tokoyo Kogetsu - Muken?)[6] - Kokushibo rapidly performs a multitude of curved slashes several meters in front of him that releases a wild barrage of crescent moon blades capable of slicing up the surroundings. Seventh Form: Mirror of Misfortune, Moonlit (漆しちノ型かた 厄やっ鏡きょう・月づき映ばえ, Shichi no kata: Yakkyō - Zukibae?)[7] - Using his altered katana, Kokushibo performs a frontal crescent-shaped slash that unleashes numerous straight and curved slashes that expand outward. Eighth Form: Moon-Dragon Ringtail (捌はちノ型かた 月げつ龍りゆう輪りん尾び, Hachi no kata: Getsuryū Rinbi?)[8] - Using his altered katana, Kokushibo performs a massive long-ranged curved slash that leaves dozens of crescent moon blades along its path
Moon Breathing Form's
Ninth Form: Waning Moonswaths (玖くノ型かた 降くだり月づき・連れん面めん, Ku no kata: Kudarizuki - Renmen?)[9] - Using his altered katana, Kokushibo performs multiple curved slashes, all in close proximity, that leave numerous crescent moon blades along its path. Tenth Form: Drilling Slashes, Moon Through Bamboo Leaves (拾じゅうノ型かた 穿せん面めん斬ざん・蘿ら月げつ, Jū no kata: Senmenzan - Ragetsu?)[10] - Using his altered katana, Kokushibo creates three rotating circular saw-like slashes with crescent moon blades following their path. Fourteenth Form: Catastrophe, Tenman Crescent Moon (拾じゅう肆しノ型かた 兇きょう変へん・天てん満まん繊せん月げつ, Jū Shi no kata: Kyōhen - Tenman Sengetsu?)[11] - Using his altered katana, Kokushibo performs a multitude of curved slashes which expand outward in every direction that incrementally grow in size, essentially creating an omni-directional vortex of crescent moon blades that surrounds him. Sixteenth Form: Moonbow, Half Moon (拾じゅう陸ろくノ型かた 月虹げっこう・片かた割われ月づき, Jū Roku no kata: Gekkō - Katawarezuki?)[12] - Using his altered katana, Kokushibo swings upward, sending six curved slashes crashing down several meters in front of him, powerful enough to leave craters in their wake.
Blood Demon Art
Kokushibo's Blood Demon Art allows him to create and manipulate dozens of sharp blades shaped like traditional crescent moons from his flesh katana. They are implied to have been created from his blood and can be either a bright yellow or a bright blue in color. These crescent moon blades are innately chaotic, constantly changing in size, direction, and speed, making Kokushibo's attacks extremely unpredictable and unreadable as they have no set pattern at all. This Blood Demon Art greatly enhances the power of his techniques, making every single one of his sword swings extremely deadly and dangerous. He also seems to be capable of using his Blood Demon Art as long as his katana is unsheathed, allowing him to create crescent moon blades even without swinging his sword or unleashing a technique.[67] The volatile nature of his Blood Demon Art makes it extremely challenging for Demon Slayers to circumvent.
