Krai Andrey [14] is the main protagonist of the 'Let This Grieving Soul Retire! Woe is the Weakling Who Leads the Strongest Party'. He's the 'absolute leader' of Grieving Souls, the first 'elected' clan master of First Steps, the 'appointed' King of Cave People[15], and the 'founding' boss of Ten-Tails of Aburaage. He is the central figure, figurehead, and the brainiac of their generation.[16] He's also the leader of the Royal Guard (近衛) Order of Princess Alisha. He has a strong counterpart named Krahi Andrey. He is the first Treasure Chest Rider. Thanks to his relic, [Black Firm Saddle]. Personality In the eyes of his friends and acquaintances, he's a trustworthy treasure hunter who possessed various talents: incredible knowledge, immeasurable strength, and unexplained -mysterious- powers. He's also marked in their top list as a person who shouldn't be messed with. To them, he's a mysterious being, invincible beasts or a God in a flesh above everyone else. Every word that comes out of his mouth - even a minor joke- has an ambiguous and hidden meaning. That should be taken for granted seriously. He is seen as a hard-boiled and ingenious leader. Although he tries his best to tell them the truth and that everything they encounters are just a coincidence, nobody really believes him. For his enemies, he's a dangerous existence that should be avoided at all cost. His existence is clouded with mysteries. He's so feared by his enemies that all of them try to escape upon realizing his identity. He is recorded as a man with a high-level intellectual mind. They also think he's a cunning, incredible strategist, undefeatable tactician, and villainous opponent who holds many trump cards. But in truth, he's a weak, indecisive, sloppy, and unmotivated 'regular' human being. He hates getting into trouble and is weak-willed, so even if he gets motivated about something, he quickly gets tired of it and changes his mind. He's always on the verge to puke whenever something troublesome happens. He tries his best to show a brave face in front of his subordinates but he's actually afraid of all of them because to him, hunters are all people with volatile personalities. He's both lucky and unlucky, though he isn't always aware of it. Generally, Krai always brings disasters along with him, much to the woe of the many. He's also pretty looked carefree outside, causing everyone to underestimate him. Tino typically thinks that he's faking it-

He's pretty childish when it is related of buying various type of Relics. He doesn't mind to be buried in debt to acquire the treasures that he wants. Nonetheless, his serious side is visible when he needs to. He will bravely stand alone against the high-leveled hunters, enemies, cursed-like and Godlike creatures to save his friends, people, and disciples even though he's weaker than them. Background Krai Andrey was born on February 29. He was the eldest and only son of the Andrey Family. Back in the day, Krai Andrey dreamed of becoming the kind of treasure hunter who could swoop into mortal peril and save whoever was in distress. However, he was kind of tired of doing it. [17] He knows the name of Exceed Zequence, a famous hunter in their hometown. Hearing his tale of heroism and adventure what is first sent him in the dark path.[18] He enlisted himself as treasure hunter - aiming to reach the pinnacle and highest level, the level 10. He was previously one of the young generations who wanted to become a notable hero in his era. At first, he tried to study under all the mentors his childhood friends trained under, but he was quickly kicked out due to his performance and eccentric behavior. He was not a protégé unlike them. Therefore, he decided to cheer his childhood friends who worked very hard in the sidelines. It was at that time that they all fell for him and one of the reason why they wanted him to be their party leader. He became a fan of collecting various type of relics afterward. It was one of the best career saving moment -beside his friend's encouragement- to continue his hunter life, learn new things and discover a whole new world. According to his analysis, everything he did with the relics could be replicate by anyone, but the users or collectors like him won't do it because it was either useless, won't make sense, no manual how to use it or didn't know it is possible-

When he left his hometown, his parents told Lucia to be in charge of Krai and take care of him because he is sloven, sluggish, and sloppy child. So Lucia is always on the lookout for her dear 'step brother' Krai Andrey. After he finally acknowledged that he's just a deadweight for his party, he set up a meeting in his room in the evening after they cleared countless treasure vaults for beginners. He openly gave a speech about his early retirement, he was convinced his friends will become a great treasure hunters, and he was hoping for them to understand his situation. However, it was quite the opposite of what he was expecting, his friend was wondering too that they didn't have a leader in the party and Krai Andrey had no role in the group. Thus, he recommended Krai Andrey to take charge of the position 'Party Leader' which gave him more anxieties and distress. All of the other four members happily agreed and voted for his leadership unanimously.

Nonetheless, Krai had never given up his goal to retire at the early age. In order to succeed it, he set his second long term plan secretly. One of his greatest plan was, he would build a 'very simple' clan which was composed of different 'rival' parties, so they would become competitive to take the role of the clan master, it won't become the best among the best because of the competition, he could finally free from hunting activities, and the minimum support from him will finally give away for him a valid reason to retire permanently. However, out of his calculation, it rose up to become a powerful, universally feared and influential clan.[19] Although his original ulterior motive was to become a 'regular' member before he left, out of the question he had always won the 'Clan Master' position unanimously. It's really one of his bright plan that's betrayed him the most. He wanted to retire, however Eva Renfied won't let him to escape because the civilian department and her team kept voting for him. No matter how much efforts he did, he couldn't escape for a lot of reasons

Krai's actions have already influenced many people that will hinder his grieving soul to retire at all cost, for example Eva who will not accept the Clan Master position, the clan members who relied on his frightening existence and leadership, Gark who can't let go of his position as branch manager because of him, Ark who looks up for him as his equal, Tino who is always at his side and already corrupted as his devoted follower with a quote of "Master is God!". In addition to that, the Grievers will retire too because he is the center of the circle: for Liz, it influenced her to pursue speed, for Sitri, it influenced her to not be picky of the means to arrive at the end, for Luke, it influenced him to pursue the way of the sword, for Ansem, it influenced his size and class. And for Lucia, who encourage her to become a mage (witch). Krai has a bad foresight and farsight, despite the other party believes he possesses it. All of his displeasures, grumbles and tantrums are always been misinterpreted, and his actions are often misunderstood as a 'training''. The reason is, he inadvertently drags the people around him into terrible position and terrifying - horrifying, gruesome and unreasonable- situations, making them think that Krai is imposing some sort of trial for them. They dub it as the "Thousand trial", and his unreadable -devious schemes- successful plans are one of the origin of his nickname as "Thousand Tricks". [20] His nickname wasn’t just for show, and he’d worn a perfect poker face. Krai Andrey is hired by a maid named Olivia (level 5), and he is assigned as the 28th personal attendant (Konoe). Later on, Krai becomes the leader of the Royal Guards of the youngest princess of the Code Royalty, Princess Alisha. After a few weeks, he blitz his way up from Class 1 to Class 7. Tino love her master and want to be petted by him, if there is an opportunity, She often recites her master's name like a gospel. Despite showing a lot of skin due to her thief outfit, she isn't embarrassed when people are looking at her. But she still retains a sense of shame.

Background Tino Shade was born on December 31. She was a normal village girl in the Capital city. But her life had changed when she met Krai Andrey in person when she was ten years old. At that time, Tino isn't interested of becoming a treasure hunter, and she is fairly treated as acquaintance by the many. However, she changes her mind to enlist after she hears the stories of the outstanding and excellent achievements of the Grieving Souls and their leader. Their legend drives her to chase them, aiming to become a member of the legendary party. So the first things she did, she implores Krai Andrey to become her mentor. To teach her his techniques, skills and hunter knowledge. However, Krai had other plans, so he passed it to someone better than him. She could become Sitri's (experimental guinea pig) disciple when she volunteered to become her master, but thankfully, Krai stopped it before it's too late. He places her under the mentorship of Liz Smart. So Tino becomes a thief-class hunter from that moment. She overjoys aloud when she receives the acknowledgement of the master and his party members thereafter. Thanks to her mentor's inhumane training, her skills come into fruition. Tino reaches her level 4 license after she beats various type of treasure vaults for beginners as a solo hunter. Later on, she finally receives her own mask - the Overgreed Mask- that pushed Tino's potential instantly. Her power level has the same power level of Level 7 Arnold Hale. But unfortunately, she becomes horrified after she experiences its horrifying and malicious effects. At this moment, she is still hesitant to put it on again even though it is a safe gift from her dear master, Krai Andrey. For the record, she is the second most trusted person after his childhood friends, and the first disciple of Krai Andrey even though he is not.

Personality With her friends she usually displays a cheerful, innocent, straightforward, narcissist and happy go lucky attitude and adopts a more flirtacious personality when interreacting with Krai specifically. Liz has a more competitive relationship with Luke and Sitri with regards to combat ability and romance respectively. Towards her disciple, Tino, Liz is relentlessly abusive and overbearing. She is unrelentingly critical of Tino's performance and abilities, and subjects her to extremely demanding training in an effort to improve her capabilities. Because of this, Tino is terrified of Liz. Outside of her own party Liz has a dismissive and often mocking attitude towards other adventurers. She displays little respect for anyone else in her profession. The root of her disdain for adventurers outside her party, including Tino, seems to spring from their failure to live up to their own potential, rather than how their abilities compare to Liz's specifically. Perhaps because of this, Liz is a terrible teammate for groups outside of Strange Grief. Despite her abilities, Krai refuses to send her on missions with other members of First Step as her unpredictable and uncooperative behavior make her a danger to normal adventurers. Liz's philosophy for combat, as conveyed to Tino, is "think after you kill." Liz has a habit of ignoring the status of opponents (or allies) and will attack anyone who annoys her. She often fails to realize the rank or threat posed by her adversaries, and is surprised to learn she has defeated the enemy leader.

Liz has considerable pride in her abilities and can't stand the thought of failure, especially if it happens in front of Krai. She holds Tino's inadequacies to be her own failures and will become enraged at having been "embarrassed" in front of Krai, to the point of appearing to be psychopathically deranged to others. Whenever Liz gets worked up the only person who can talk her down and disperse her anger is Krai. Liz will be more tolerant of Tino if reassured of her contributions by Krai and Liz's rage will evaporate if Krai is nice to her. She can often be dissuaded from a rampage by Krai promising to spend time with her. Her pride and determination to win is so high like her party members that she will stab her own waist by a knife to continue her fight.[3] Background Liz is one of Krai's childhood friends who formed their own party in the pursuit of becoming level 10 treasure hunters. In their group she fulfills the role of thief. It is unknown how she developed her superhuman abilities but, like the rest of her group, she hold's Krai's wisdom and guidance as the source of her development. After Strange Grief arrived at the Imperial Capital and realized that they needed to get stronger, Liz decided to train at a martial school for Thieves where she would surpass all of her peers and acquire the legendary moniker of Stifled Shadow, springing from the myth that she moves so fast her own shadow cannot keep up with her. She fully mastered her field, and she has taken over the title as the second generation. It was rumored that she had a lifespan different to other humans, and when she pulled out all her power, her heart pumped up wildly. It said as if her body had the heat of a blaze inside of it. At some point Tino approached Krai with the goal of becoming his disciple and Krai passed along the responsibility of mentoring her to Liz. From Krai's perspective this was merely him pawning off the burden, but Liz took this as another test Krai set for her that-

she's dedicated herself to passing. Trivia Her first name Liz (リィズ, Ryizu) means 'God is my oath'. Unlike Krai and Tino, Liz doesn't like sweets. She can detect Krai's position because of his scent. Personality Sitri was formerly an introvert, bookworm lady, but after she gained confidence, she experienced a dramatic changed on her innocent personality. Sitri is energetic, cheerful and playful. Her kind behavior is often misinterpreted by her colleagues from "First Step" as machiavellic. Only Krai and the other members of her party, Grieving Souls, knows her true personality. In the past, she was weak, untrained, a crybaby, and timid lady who is lacking of confidence because she didn't possess a talent unlike her childhood friends. However, her insecurities slowly disappeared after Krai suggested her to be an Alchemist because she loved to read books. It can be said that amongst the Grievers, Sitri has experienced the greatest change in personality due to Krai's encouragements and skepticism. Due to Sitri's special class, she usually supports the Griever's activities as Krai's assistant, well she's doing most of the work by herself. In a sense, Sitri is the most indispensable member in the Party.

As a hunter, she earned the respect as the 'powerful weakling' party member of the team due her excellent learning and incredible knowledge in Alchemy. However, Sitri began losing confidence in herself as her team members began to pull ahead of her. During this period, Krai lent her a hand and encouraged her to pursue something that she yearned for. His motivational words led her to fall in love with him dearly. However, she was unaware of the truth that he only helped her to stand up on her own because he knew how she felt powerless, a weak individual who wanted to be at par with their friends, and he saw his former self from her who had almost lost his motivation to venture with his team. Within five years of her training, she was accused of being involved of illegal activities behind the scenes. Therefore, she failed to accumulate some points to level up, but nevertheless, this did not deter her from infiltrating dangerous organizations such as Akasha to absorb their vast knowledge and copied their technologies. Plus, she's the beautiful stepsister of Krai Andrey. She is taking the role of the main character in Arc 10 (Volume 13). Appearance She has a long black hair, angelic face, and a feminine-wise appearance. Her long black hair travels down on her shoulder and rests on her knees. Her charming, attractive and delicate regular body is enticing to watch for the others in awe. Her thighs are alluring. She is often seen in her mage robe, a wooden cane, long stockings and boots. Sometimes, she's wearing an ordinary outfit whenever she's with her brother.

Personality She is a calm, collected, beautiful, obedient and discipline lady. But she is sometimes reluctant when it comes to unreasonable demands of her friends, especially her 'dear brother'. Her sharp mouth is sometimes contained a harsh and dissonant words, but in a logical and reasonable tone. Her arguments always contains with meaningful sense. She's the typical tsundere 'step' sister of the protagonist. According to Krai, she's stringent, hardworking and reliable 'step' sister. She is a good person with an amicable personality, however sometimes, she's very dangerous when she's in rebellious period. She is also grumbled in a cute tone whenever Krai tries to correct her new spells promptly. But despite of that, she highly respects her brother, and she will acknowledge her mistake. Because she will never criticized his teachings as her mentor and her leader. She is composed, farsighted and cynical too. She won't stop doing her best until she succeeds. She's also overprotective to her brother and she will stay as an obstacle against the lust assaults of the two Smart sisters. But despite her high intelligence, she is also a muscle head. She's often misunderstood the command of her brother, like for example, she will attack her opponents with her favorite powerful magic without remorse. She isn't afraid of dislocating a finger like a twig to remain conscious in live combat. [4] Background Lucia Rogier was a distant relative of Krai Andrey. She was one year younger than her step brother. Her parents died in an accident, and after many twists and turn of events, she was adopted by the Andrey family and raised as their own - naming her as Lucia Andrey.

After she reached her adulthood, she annulled her adoption, and she renamed herself back to her original surname. According to their history, she was the beautiful, cute, young lady who suffered her first 'thousand trial' from Krai after he used her to experiment his magic books (grimores) at their place - a backwoods town. Her step brother discovered she has an high aptitude of mana to become a powerful mage, so he became her mentor at that time. In their hunting activities, she plays an important role as a 'passive attack support' in the frontlines of their party. Her main job is the reduction of the quantity of their enemies. Sometimes, her magic spells are often used for her friends' convenience, for example the construction of an hots spring inn, drilling a hole, and installation of waterfalls. Although all of their demands are unreasonable and a headache, she doesn't mind at all. She will always stick around, give her best, and explore the world together with her party as their active mage. She's one of the decent party members who looks after the troublemakers, like the Smart sisters, who tried to take a bath or sleep with her 'beloved' brother, and Luke Sykol, a man who would challenge a formidable foe even though he's weaker. Consequently, Krai enrolls her to a famous magic academy to give her a proper place of education. Several years later, she is now known as one of the talented prodigy of the school with unique skills and a renowned Level 6 Hunter among her peers.
