The Goat Man and The Rake

The Goat Man

The goat man is a humanoid creature with legs and horns of a goat, it is 7-8 feet tall and covered in coarse wiry fur It hunts during the night stalking it's prey and mimicking voices of loved ones or survivors that wander off into the night, waiting until some poor unfortunate soul wanders out to rescue them (Psychological warfare and stalking) According to local lore it was a human who made a pact with a demonic entity, it gave up its humanity for power, now it haunts the very grounds where the Park is built upon. any who enter the goatmans territory is never seen again, their screams heard on moonless nights

The Rake

More classic Creepypasta stories can be found here: Bedtime Psychosis Rugrats Theory Appearance The Rake is the name given to a strange pale skinned creature that stalks its victims on all fours and has the appearance that somewhat resembles a ‘mutated dog’. The fanged and taloned creature is commonly said to live in woods or forested areas. However, the spread of the character and the resulting lack of common ‘rules’ around its habitat or behaviours means that it now has a far wider presence moving away from the woods and forests to be found in more urban areas and even repeating the common creepy pasta trope of appearing at the end of people’s bed or in their rooms at night. The common consensus on the creature’s appearance shows it to have large bulbous eyes, that are reflective when caught in the light of a camera, a drooping jaw with a large, fang filled mouth and often either a nose that is missing entirely or which is simply an open socket, similar to that of a skull. The creature is usually shown naked and crawling toward the viewer on all fours, suggesting that though it is bipedal it prefers to stalk victims in a manner similar to a four legged animal. It hunts on all fours using its sharp claws to kill then eat its victims to the bone on the spot, it is fast, faster than any human could run. It is attracted to light, and like the Goat man it Hunts and kills during withing hours

Whispering Pine National Park

Overview: Whispering Pines National Park spans hundreds of square miles, nestled deep in an isolated mountain range. It’s a park once known for its tranquil beauty, with towering pine trees that rise like sentinels into the sky, endless hiking trails, and crystal-clear lakes. However, beneath its peaceful facade lies a darker, more ominous side. Locals in nearby towns have long whispered about strange disappearances, eerie sounds, and unsettling presences within the park’s boundaries. Over the years, it has earned a reputation as a place to avoid, especially after sundown. The true nature of Whispering Pines seems to be tied to a curse that dates back centuries, possibly even millennia. The indigenous peoples believed that the land was once the battleground of ancient, supernatural forces. One tale speaks of a great shaman who fought against a dark, malevolent spirit that had claimed the forest. The shaman, in an attempt to trap the entity, performed a ritual that bound it to the forest, preventing it from leaving but never fully destroying it. The dark spirit, in return, corrupted the land, causing the trees to "whisper" and drawing in the souls of those who died there. This curse is thought to be the reason for the many strange happenings in the park. Over the centuries, hunters, campers, and park rangers have all gone missing, with many of their bodies never found. Those who have returned often speak of hearing whispers in the woods, feeling as though they were being watched, and seeing fleeting figures just out of the corner of their eyes. Some describe the sensation of the forest itself being alive—an ancient, malevolent force that waits for the right moment to strike.

Locations

Observation Tower (The Beacon) Description: A tall wooden tower offering panoramic views of the entire park. It’s been reinforced with metal scraps and wood planks, making it a key defensive position. The stairway leading up is narrow and easy to defend. Visitor Center (The Hub) Description: This large building served as the park’s main information center before the disaster. Inside, it has large glass windows, an information desk, maps of the park, and souvenir shops. There are side rooms like bathrooms and office spaces, giving it various uses for a survivor group The Park Lake (The Dockside) Description: A small lake with a dock, surrounded by trees and water lilies. The Pine Gazette October 6, 2024 Whispering Pines National Park Shut Down Amid Disturbing Disappearances By Eleanor Hartley, Staff Writer Whispering Pines National Park, one of the state's most scenic and historic nature reserves, was officially closed indefinitely yesterday following the disappearance of three more hikers over the past month. The park, long admired for its dense forests, picturesque trails, and serene lakes, is now the subject of growing fear and speculation. The park's closure marks the culmination of over a century of strange occurrences and unexplainable deaths. Since the park opened in 1912, a staggering 64 individuals have gone missing or been found dead under mysterious circumstances. Many locals attribute these disappearances to legends surrounding the park, particularly two notorious entities that have become synonymous with Whispering Pines: the Goat Man and the Rake

Survivor notes

Survivor Note #1: Date: July 18, 1996 I don’t know how long I’ve been out here. Time stopped meaning anything when the sun went down. I heard something. Thought it was just the wind or maybe a deer, but then I saw it. It had horns—twisted, black, and thick. A body like a man, but taller, broader. Its eyes caught the moonlight. I ran. I don’t even remember where I ran, just that I did. I can hear it now. It’s close, always staying just beyond the trees, never letting me rest. I think it’s been following me for hours, maybe days. If you’re reading this, don’t go deeper into the woods. It’s not just a legend. The Goat Man is real. —K.C. Survivor Note #2: Date: August 5, 2003 They told me the Rake wasn’t real. That it was just stories the locals made up to scare tourists. But I saw it. I saw it with my own eyes, and now I’m trapped in this cabin, hoping it doesn’t come back. It’s pale. So pale. And its eyes—God, they’re like holes, dark pits that feel like they’re staring into your soul. It moves on all fours, but its arms… they’re too long. I couldn’t stop staring at its arms. I heard the scratching last night. That’s why they call it the Rake, I guess. That horrible scratching, like it’s trying to dig its way into your mind. I’m not going to make it through the night. If anyone finds this, stay away from Whispering Pines. It’s not safe. None of it is. —A.J. Survivor Note #3: Date: October 2, 2024 They said the park would be closed by the end of the week. Guess they didn’t make it in time. The Goat Man took one of them. Maybe two. We were supposed to clear the last few trails before the shutdown, but now, I’m the only one left. They went out looking for the missing hikers, but I told them not to. I begged them not to. I saw it again tonight. Standing at the edge of the trees, just staring. This place isn’t haunted—it’s cursed. They should have closed it years ago. If I make it out, I’m never coming back. No one should. —R.D.
