At first glance, Akito seems like a calm guy. However, his personality changes dramatically when he dances — Akito becomes a hot and passionate person. He respects everyone who is passionate about their interests and hates vague people. Although he seems rude, playing some characters, he is often misunderstood because of his harsh behavior, but he is a reliable and caring person. When Akito meets someone new, he uses his charming image, which Toyah literally calls the "good guy image" and he doesn't seem to like it. He is good at maintaining a polite appearance and uses it when communicating with clients at his workplace. Although Akito may behave rudely towards his friends, this does not reflect how he really feels. Deep down, he cares a lot about the people around him. He is not interested in studying, which is why Toya is sometimes strict with Akito.

Akito likes to help out at sports clubs, he likes fashion coordination, and he also has a talent for beatboxing. Akito's favorite food is pancakes and cheesecakes. Akito doesn't like eating carrots and is terrified of dogs.

Akito Shinonome's personal life

Akito is a sophomore at Kamiyama High School. He is a member of the street music group Vivid BAD SQUAD. Akito has a sister, Ena. Akito and Ena's father is an artist who is so passionate about it that he is completely indifferent to his children, and their mother is so uninterested in the family she created that she very rarely appears in the house at all. Both parents are emotionally dismissive of both Akito and his older sister Ena. This greatly affected Akito as a person. Akito feels superfluous and unnecessary because of his parents' attitude. Akito struggles with his insecurities. He often feels inferior to his bandmates, and to compensate for this, he overworks himself. If there is no one around to stop him, he often practices singing until he loses his voice or collapses from exhaustion, neglecting his needs in the process. When Akito was in elementary school, he played on the football team. Although he was one of the best in the team, he decided to leave after his team lost an important tournament. Some time after he stopped playing football, his sister Ena took him to a summer festival, where she suggested that he try singing. This marked the beginning of his interest in street music, which eventually developed into a dream to surpass the legendary RAD WEEKEND performance. He respects Shiraishi Ken, An's father, who performed at RAD WEEKEND, and trains hard to make his dream come true. He sang with Toya under the name BAD DOGS before forming Vivid BAD SQUAD with An and Kohane. Even after the creation of the band, they perform together.

Toya Aoyagi's appearance and personality

Toya has gray eyes. His hair is short and divided into light and dark blue. Toya is Akito's best friend. Akito trusts him completely. Toya is silent, but strong. He tends to keep to himself, but deep down he is truly grateful to his friends. He is a well-mannered and polite person, but also seems cold at first. He cares deeply about his friends and can also be quite trusting at times. Toya feels that he is not passionate enough to side with Akito because he saw street music as a way to escape from his father, which leads to him telling Akito that he should find a better partner than him. However, he overcomes this and realizes that he wants to surpass RAD WEEKEND, like the other members of Vivid BAD SQUAD.

Ena Shinonome's appearance and personality

Ena is Akito's older sister. Ena has dark brown eyes that gradually turn into beige. She has short brown hair with medium-length bangs combed to the right. She braids the left side of her hair into a small pigtail and tucks it behind her left ear, tied with a short white ribbon in the form of a bow. She has a pleasant and airy voice. Ena is a strong—willed girl who always says what she thinks. When she paints, she begins to live in her own world and ignores everything around her. As her fellow participants noticed, she forgets to turn off the microphone, and then they hear her muttering a few comments about her illustrations, mostly that they are not what she is aiming for. Moreover, she believes that talent is something that she does not have, but what she wants. Thus, she claims that she hates those who throw her away. She feels inferior and envies those she considers talented, like Mafuyu. Despite this, she is proud of her illustrations. She worries when her fellow contestants compliment them, and gets angry when they act differently.

Kohane Azusawa's appearance and personality

Kohane has light brown eyes and blond hair. After becoming a member of the group, she cut her hair to her shoulders and collects it in two short tails. She no longer wears glasses and uses contact lenses instead. Her voice is soft. Kohane is very kind and humble. Before meeting Ahn and joining Vivid BAD SQUAD, she was a quiet, shy girl who lacked self-confidence and did not like being in public. After the main plot, she becomes more open and bold. She gradually gains more confidence and no longer has problems communicating. However, sometimes she is still nervous and scared of people like Akito or Toyah, because they used to be rivals. Kohane is a diligent person and works hard to keep up with the rest of the band members. Akito sees her as a beginner who doesn't understand what she's getting into.

An Shiraishi's appearance and personality

An has orange eyes and long black hair with blue tips, on which there are many small stars. In addition, she also has other accessories — a clapper clip, a hairpin and an earring in the form of stars. An is a cool and outspoken girl with an unwavering spirit. For the most part, she is very nice to others and kind to her friends and family, even if she can afford to tease the same Akito because of their friendly rivalry. Shiraishi is able to make a strong impression on himself, regularly motivating and supporting others in their endeavors. Nevertheless, despite her fortitude, charisma and courage, Ahn still has her own experiences, starting from her unexpected genuine horror of ghosts and scary stories in general and ending with the fear of loneliness revealed in Bout for Beside You, coming from the need to remain a leader and a support in the eyes of others. An and Akito are rivals.

Rui Kamishiro's appearance and personality

Rui has yellow eyes with red eyeliner along the crease, uneven, wavy purple hair with two blue strands. A round blue earring is pierced in his right ear, the other is covered with hair. His voice is gentle, although it becomes strained when he is excited or curious. Rui lives by his own rules, which is why people consider him an oddball. He almost always smiles and has a strange sense of humor, which is why others often misunderstand him. His behavior, which causes people to avoid him, includes using them as test dummies for his ideas and waterboarding in pools, as stated by Nene. Rui also shows curiosity bordering on obsession, as he likes to disassemble toys and household appliances to see how they work, as well as his openly expressed desire to disassemble plush toys in Sekai, for which Tsukasa condemns him. Rui cares deeply about his friends.

Tsukasa Tenma's appearance and personality

Tsukasa has orange-yellow eyes, short disheveled blond hair with peach tips, and his trademark proud and wide smile. His voice is firm and confident. Tsukasa is a very confident and charismatic person, calling himself a future "star". He has a noticeable habit of showing off, along with a tendency to catch up on the moment. He is also a caring and reliable older brother towards his younger sister Saki.
