Sabito is a fair-skinned young man with a large scar running from the right corner of his mouth to his right ear, and kind, cat-like eyes that were a grayish lavender color, with a horizontal bar of a much paler purple visible through them near the bottom. He had thick, spiky, peach-colored hair of varying lengths, the longest of which reached his shoulders, which he wore loose in a messy fashion with a micro side-swept bang over the left side of his forehead. Sabito wore a green kimono, patterned with a hexagonal geometric design of yellow and a darker green, tied at the waist with a piece of black cloth, beneath which he sported a pair of tattsuke-hakama pants and over which a plain white haori. Around his calves, he wore a pair of kyahan, which were the same design as his kimono, into which his pants were tucked, as well as black tabi socks and a pair of zōri on his feet. As with the rest of Sakonji Urokodaki's apprentices, Sabito's white protective mask, hand-carved by his own master, took the shape of a fox's face, decorated by a large scar in the same place as the one on his face. The eyes and nose of the mask were a dark green, while the ears were more of a greyish red, and it was secured around his face with a thick piece of red string around his head, the ends of which hung behind each of his ears.

Sabito is a serious young man who believed that all of his actions should be befitting of a man. He was seen as a ruthless mentor during his time training Tanjiro Kamado, who was always quick to point out his flaws and refused to acknowledge him as a man. When asked about defeating the Hand Demon, Sabito seemed to have a pessimistic view on conflict, saying that he believed that no matter how hard someone tries, it will never be enough to defeat the beast. Still, Sabito entrusted his will to Tanjiro and was overjoyed when he surpassed him as Sakonji's strongest student, openly acknowledging that Tanjiro was the toughest of them all and proudly leaving him the lingering will of all of Sakonji's lost children. According to Sabito's best friend Giyu Tomioka , he was a very kind boy with a strong sense of justice, when he was still alive. It is implied that Sabito was a selfless person, as seen in Giyu's flashback, when it is revealed that he saved everyone in his group from the Demon Hand during their Final Selection , sacrificing himself in the process.

Sabito is regarded as Sakonji's most powerful student, succeeded only by Tanjiro; the Hand Demon even noted that Sabito was the most powerful disciple of Sakonji's that he had ever killed. [5] Tanjiro has stated that Sabito would likely have been an incredible swordsman had he survived. [6] By far the most capable combatant during his Final Selection, he single-handedly saved all of his class's entrants and killed nearly all of the demons present, save for the Hand Demon due to his notoriously tough neck muscles.

Expert Swordsman: Sabito was a very skilled swordsman, as seen during his Final Selection, in which he was able to kill almost all of the Demons on Mount Fujikasane single-handedly and save all of the other participants, [7] a feat that even Tanjiro believed was something he could not accomplish as he was busy protecting himself. [8] Throughout Tanjiro's training, Sabito was also able to repeatedly defeat him while wielding a wooden sword, despite Tanjiro being using a real sword, [9] and, during their first battle, Sabito displayed tremendous speed, agility, and reflexes that easily surpassed Tanjiro's at the time. Ultimately, it took Tanjiro six months of training with him before he was able to defeat Sabito.

Sabito has a standard sized and shaped Nichirin katana with a hexagonal-shaped hand guard with a black core and an overlaid bronze rim, which bears a striking similarity to the hand guard on Giyu Tomioka's katana. Wooden Katana: Sabito also has a wooden katana which he uses to fight Tanjiro Kamado in their first encounter.
