Makima is a female demon who resembles a human woman in her early twenties, with a very slim build and slightly above average height. She has long, light reddish or light brown hair, usually tied into a loose braid with bangs reaching just below her eyebrows and two longer side bangs framing her face. Her eyes are yellow with multiple red rings inside them, making them the only visible sign of her inhuman nature. On the surface, Makima appears to be a kind, gentle, sociable, and friendly woman who is usually seen with a smile on her face all the time and acts relaxed and confident even during a crisis, speaking in a professional tone to her workers. As her natural appearance is nearly identical to that of a human, she avoids revealing her Devil nature to most of her subordinates and spends much of the series posing as a human hired by a Devil rather than a Devil herself. However, this is just a facade she uses to fulfill her ultimate goal. After the death of Aki Hayakawa, Makima begins to reveal her true colors to Denji. Makima's true face is that of someone Machiavellian and calculating, who views the people around her as nothing more than "dogs" that she can use as much as she wants and must obey her without question.
