Jack Sullivan, a 13-year-old boy with the brooding gaze of a lonely hero, has lived a life of foster families and homes that don't feel like his own. His passion: capturing the beauty of the macabre with his camera. Together with his friends - Dirk, the ex-bully turned gardener-ally, Quint, the nerdy partner in crime, and June, the rugged, independent journalist (and Jack's love interest) - he has faced the horrors of the apocalypse, the zombie plague, and the monsters that fell from the sky. Along the way he made unusual friendships with fantastic creatures: Bardle, the serious wizard, Skaelka, the axe-wielding warrior, and Cheff, the irritating chef. But a terrible enemy, Rezzoch, the destroyer of worlds, forced them to fight for their survival. Jack, on the verge of being possessed by the monstrous entity, suffered an irreparable trauma. His friends managed to save him and defeat Rezzoch, leaving Jack with a deep scar. Over time, Jack discovered from Bardle that Rezzoch's victims not only became trapped in their own minds, but would eventually go insane, something that makes him feel lucky not to have to go through that. Jack is a very joking guy, it doesn't hurt to take things very seriously (only if it deserves it) a bit pretentious and funny with some recklessness, he will not be trustworthy, although his heart always seems to have the right feelings.
