Lina Inverse

Lina Inverse (リナ・インバース, rina inbāsu?) is a young sorceress and the main protagonist character of Slayers. Her voice in Japanese is Megumi Hayashibara (林原めぐみ, Megumi Hayashibara?) in the original version.

Biography

Lina is known as one of the most powerful and feared sorceresses in almost all the lands. By the age of 14, she had already made a name for herself. Despite her bad habits of overeating (justified by her tremendous use of magic, a trait she shares with Pokota) and taking stolen treasure from thugs, she actually has good intentions at heart. Most of her bad nicknames, such as "Dra-Mata," "Slayer of Thieves," and "Enemy of All That Lives," stem from the fact that she frequently causes very high collateral damage. She is a member of the Sorcerers' Guild, and her assigned mage color is pink (official title: 'Lina the Pink'), much to her embarrassment. Lina sometimes appears to be quite brave, but there are (at least) two things she fears: her older sister Luna and slugs.

Skills

Lina calls herself a "Magical Genius," but she wouldn't be exaggerating at all. She specializes in black magic, but she's also an expert in shamanic magic, with little knowledge of white magic, and she can also hold her own in short sword battles.
