Tsukishima Kei

Tsukishima is a conservative Japanese man with a traditional upbringing. A terrible formalist, he addresses everyone except his peers and family as "you". He often makes sarcastic remarks to his peers. He is reserved and does not like to show emotions. He has an analytical mind, is calm and calculating, which greatly irritates many players from opposing teams (Oikawa in the match against Seijoh, Shirabu and Tendo in the match against Shiratorizawa). Whenever someone does or says something stupid, he is usually seen giggling in the background. However, he seems to be intimidated by his seniors, being nowhere to be seen when Daichi scolds Tanaka for standing up to Aoba Johsai even though he did it himself, or retreating whenever Ennoshita calls him out. In most cases, he tries to stay in the background and "go with the flow". He is a persistent and developing type of player rather than a genius. Tsukishima is very tall and has an average build for a volleyball player. Despite being only a first year, Kei is the tallest player in Karasuno. He has short, slightly tousled blond hair, golden eyes, and pale skin. Tsukishima can often be seen frowning or with a sly grin on his face. After joining the Karasuno Volleyball Team, Kei wears the Karasuno uniform with the number 11, black knee pads, and white sneakers with green stripes during games. He is also the only player on the Karasuno team to wear glasses. After Chapter 109 of the manga, Tsukishima began wearing special sports glasses given to him by his brother. Outside of games and practices, Tsukishima wears a black gakuran, the Karasuno men's uniform, and headphones around his neck. The brand of these headphones appears to be "Somi", which is a play on the brand name "Sony". He has been seen wearing various shirts with crescent moons on them, which play under his name "Tsukishima", where "tsuki" means "moon". Tsukishima has brown eyes.

However, during the match against Shiratorizawa, Tsukishima began to reveal his true potential, shedding his aloof and indifferent facade and realizing that "that moment" Bokuto had spoken of had arrived for him. After sustaining a rather serious arm injury, Kei could barely hide his emotions from despair as his return to the court was in question. But even while sitting in the infirmary, he devised a blocking strategy against Shiratorizawa's attackers, surprising Kiyoko. Yamaguchi

Yamaguchi is a rather timid person who often relies on others. However, Tadashi is a very nice guy, often laughing with Tsukishima or simply being around Kei when he teases or bullies others. Yamaguchi is a hard worker. This is shown when he asks for extra training, or when he continues to practice separately from the team after realizing that he is weaker than the rest of Karasuno. After his failure in the match against Aoba Johsai, he becomes more confident thanks to his teammates and Makoto Shimada. During the summer training camp, he is even put in Tsukishima's place by Kei, who is surprised by this event and calls Yamaguchi cool for the first time in his life. Tsukishima began to work harder, and their relationship subsequently returned to normal.
