King Ayanami

At the beginning of the series, Rei Ayanami is presented as an enigmatic young woman with an introverted, silent, and uncommunicative character. Despite trusting adults, she only shows emotion and true loyalty to Gendo Ikari, with whom she also maintains a distant relationship. Rei lives on a desolate street in Tokyo-3, in lonely apartment number 402. This apartment demonstrates Rei's monotonous and isolated life. Furthermore, it turns out to be a representation of the underground room where she was born and raised, according to Ritsuko Akagi in episode 23.
