Security Window The window in the center is where people requesting entry will stand behind while the player looks through their paperwork and such. This is also the primary way of identifying flaws in appearance. Hatch The hatch sits below the security window and above the desk. This is where people requesting entry will send their ID and entry request through for inspection. Checklist A stack of checklists sits on the desk in front of the player. A checklist asks if an individual has their ID and entry request, if their appearance is correct, and if they are on Today's List. The player can pick up a checklist and check off boxes as appropriate. This can help the player keep track of what aspects check out. The player can also choose to minimize the checklist, keeping any marks on it and shoving it to the bottom of the screen. If one or more of these aspects are marked with an X, they can question the individual about them and they will respond accordingly.

If they don't have their ID and/or entry request, neighbors will always give them afterwards. Doppelgangers sometimes refuse or don't have them. Otherwise, they will usually say nothing's wrong with their paperwork. A very rare exception to this is if a doppelganger's ID number is wrong, in which they may say they had to get a new one. If their appearance is questioned, neighbors and most doppelgangers will say they don't see anything wrong. However, if there is something obviously wrong with a doppel's appearance (e.g., worms, blood, etc.) they may acknowledge it and make up an excuse. If someone isn't on the list, they will usually either state they had to leave due to an emergency or there was an error with the list. If any aspect is questioned twice, they will not repeat themselves, with the exception of doppelgangers that are caught redhanded. If all of the aspects are marked with a checkmark, the player can complete the list. If this is done, they cannot pick up another checklist until the door is opened or a cleaning protocol is run.

Side Phone There is a rotary phone that sits on the desk to the left of the player. The player can use this to call any apartment number or the D.D.D. when appropriate. To dial a number, the player has to hold click on a number and drag their mouse in any direction until the wheel stops rotating, then let go. If a number that doesn't exist is called, the phone will immediately make a dead tone. Numbers that are dialed must be 4 digits long. If the checklist or any folders are minimized, they will be automatically closed upon opening the phone UI. Emergency Button There is a red button that sits on the wall just above the phone. If the player thinks that someone at the security window is a doppelganger, they can press the emergency button to initiate an emergency. During an emergency, an alarm will blare, the light above the button will flash red, and the window will close, blocking view of anyone on the other side. This also allows the player to call the D.D.D. and initiate a cleaning protocol. The protocol cannot be prevented once the number is successfully dialed. While the emergency is going on, the player cannot interact with anything else in the office other than the phone and the emergency button. Today's List There is a list taped to the wall just above the emergency button. The list shows all neighbors that are expected to request entry throughout the run along with their apartment number. This list can vary in length, ranging from 4 to 9 neighbors. Sometimes, real neighbors can request entry that aren't on the list. In this case, it's always safe to call their apartment first to make sure they aren't already home.

Right Side Door Buttons There are two buttons on a panel on the desk to the player's right: a green button with an open lock symbol and a red button with a closed lock symbol. If the player thinks a neighbor is clear, they can let them through by opening the door with the unlock button. After this is done, they must close the door again with the lock button. Otherwise, the next person can just simply walk past without stopping. Folders There are three folders that are mounted on the wall just above the door buttons. These folders are labelled according to each of the three floors, and contain all the important information of the neighbors respective to each floor. Each folder has four tabs respective to each room on the floor. The player can also choose to minimize these folders, shoving them to the bottom of the screen.
