Appearance

Muichiro was a short, fair-haired boy with long, straight black hair that was tipped with a pale teal color. He had his hair down with two clumps slightly protruding from each side of his head. He also had large, empty-looking, mint-green eyes. His eyes and hair were similar to his twin brother, Yuichiro Tokito. Muichiro wore a dark, slightly teal version of the Demon Slayer uniform. His uniform had longer, looser sleeves that resembled a kimono more than the standard hunter uniform.

Muichiro Tokito (時時盗撮無無一一郎, Tokitō Muichirō?) is a Demon Slayer and the Mist Pillar. Muichiro, along with his twin brother Yuichiro Tokito, are descendants of the Upper First Moon, Kokushibo.

Muichiro is a light-headed individual who seems to constantly be wandering in his thoughts and never seems to focus on one thing. Emotionless and sometimes silly, he tends to only think of himself and acts purely on logic, never allowing his emotions to rule him. Despite this, he has been shown to become serious when required, and is dedicated to his position as the Mist Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps. Alternatively, he seems to display a cold and arrogant side; violently shaking Kotetsu and calling him stupid, saying that his time as a Hashira was very important, and that "all" swordsmiths could only make weapons. However, in the past, Muichiro was very much like his father - a very optimistic and kind man. Despite this, he approached his training with a fierceness in his soul, not sparing himself at all. After his brother was killed by the Demon, Muichiro subsequently lost his memory and harbored an ever-present rage, deeply suppressed within him, which inevitably drove his future intense training. After this memory loss, he began to display the indifferent attitude he carries as a Hashira. In the future, Muichiro would become slightly more emotional, and his actions would show signs of sarcasm and smugness towards Gyokko, Upper Moon Five.

Mark

Demon Slayer Mark: Muichiro's mark first awakened during his battle against Upper Moon Gekko 5, after his temperature reached 39 degrees and his heart rate exceeded 200 beats per minute. The mark appears as several red, mist-like patterns that cover his entire body, most noticeably on his face and hands. While the mark is active, his offensive and defensive capabilities are increased to several times their normal strength, with the increase in power being enough to give him the power to not only control a heavily poisoned body, but also to kill a stronger opponent single-handedly.

History

Muichiro and his twin brother Yuichiro were born to a woodcutter family. When they were ten years old, their mother became very ill. She eventually developed bronchitis and died in her bed. Before that, their father was very worried about his wife's condition, so despite the snowstorm, he went to look for medicine and other medical help, but on the way to the village, he fell off a cliff and died. Only the two of them survived. Muichiro inherited his father's kind nature, but his brother judged everything only with a cool head, was sometimes rude and always stood his ground. They often argued due to the difference in their personalities, so Muichiro had a hard time living with his brother. When spring came, Kagai Ubuyashiki's wife, Amane, found them and invited them to join the Demon Slayers. Muichiro was disturbed by how aggressively Yuichiro responded to the offer, refusing it. In a fit of anger, Yuichiro blamed his parents' excessive hard work and kindness for their deaths, pointing out that they should have made all their decisions with a cool head. Muichiro failed to convince his brother to join the organization. Amane kept coming to the twins, but Yuichiro always chased her away. At the beginning of the summer, a demon came to their house. Trying to protect his brother, Yuichiro lost his left arm, which caused Muichiro to beat the demon to death in the street in a rage with everything he could get his hands on, from various tools to logs. When he came home, he saw his bloodied brother, who was praying to the heavens for his life. Yuichiro talked about how good his brother was, who wanted to help others, and that he himself was just getting in his way. Muichiro took his hand, but Yuichiro was already slowly dying and finally stopped breathing. They were later found by Amane and her daughters, who took Muichiro in to heal him. After this, he lost most of his memories and began working as a Demon Hunter for the Demon Slayers.

Strength

Crimson Nichirin Blade: During the battle against Kokushibo, Muichiro colored his Nichirin Blade crimson by squeezing it with all his might, allowing him to hinder Kokushibo's regeneration, which later played a key role in his defeat. Muichiro displayed one of the strongest crimson blades (only Yoriichi Tsugikuni had a stronger one). The crimson blade gives him the ability to stop demons from instantly regenerating.

The first part of his name "Mu" (無) means "infinity" (無限). It is suggested that he wears baggy clothes so that his opponents cannot predict his attacks. Muichiro is one of only two Pillars to reach this rank in 2 months, the other being Gyomei Himejima. Muichiro cannot have pets, as his crow is jealous of him around others. Muichiro ranked 29th in the first character popularity rankings with 55 votes, and 3rd in the second with 11,948 votes. His favorite food is boiled radish with sauce. Muichiro says that Tengen Uzuya often gives him headaches. Tokito compares his colleague to a monkey, citing his annoying behavior. His zodiac sign is Leo.

Mist Breathing (霞の呼吸 Kasumi no kokyū): A breathing style that Muichiro either taught himself or learned from a cultivator. As the Mist Pillar, Muichiro is the strongest user of the Mist Breathing in his generation. He became so skilled in the Mist Breathing that he created an entirely different technique that played a key role in defeating Upper Moon Five's Gyokko. His mastery of this Breathing Style impressed Kokushibo, who implied that his mastery of this swordsmanship style had exceeded his expectations. Additionally, Muichiro wears baggy clothing that hides his arms from the opponent's line of sight to further conceal his movements when using the Mist Breathing, further improving the effectiveness of this Breathing Style.
