Origin of the character

ᅠJonathan Joestar (Jonasan Jōsutā?), better known as Johnny Joestar (Joni Jōsutā?) is together with Gyro Zeppeli, one the main protagonists of Steel Ball run. It's the seventh JoJo in the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series.

Appearance

Johnny is a young man of below average height, thin build and somewhat delicate due to his condition. His eyes are light blue; his hair is light blond and medium length, reaching to his shoulders and curling upwards at the ends. Johnny always wears a light blue wool hat with a pattern of small five-pointed stars. His hair sticks out of holes on each side of the top of his hat, giving it the shape of short horns. A horseshoe is sewn onto the hat, hanging from the front, and in the space between the two points of the horseshoe is a horse's head stamped on it. He wears a blue, short-sleeved hooded shirt with a pair of thick black stripes on each of his arms giving it the appearance of harnesses (later, these would be replaced with heart-shaped patches adorning both shoulders). His pants, like his shirt, are light blue with small five-pointed stars, as well as shoes with spurs. In cold weather, Johnny wears a long-sleeved top of a similar design to his shirt.ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ As a paraplegic, Johnny is seen using a wheelchair before the start of the race; but during the race he usually rides his horse, Slow Dancer.

Personality

Johnny Joestar is a teenager who is introduced feeling a great depression after being shot and left paraplegic. Before meeting Gyro, Johnny is shown to be a person who has lost his way in life, wondering why he went to San Diego Beach, the start of the Steel Ball Run. Throughout his life, Johnny always blamed himself for the death of his brother Nicholas Joestar, whom he admired and wanted to be like. Because of this and his tense relationship with his father, Johnny became insecure about himself to the point of considering himself useless, demonstrated at different stages of his career when facing various enemies. After Johnny witnesses Gyro Zeppeli's ability with the Steel Balls, called Gyro, which allowed Johnny to stand on his feet for a moment, he decides to follow Gyro due to him being too stubborn and tenacious. Despite his disability, he is a self-sufficient person and it is for this reason that he decides to enter the Steel Ball Run and closely follow Gyro in the hopes of making contact and learning the mysterious ability. Discovering the existence of the Sacred Corpse gave him new hope and finding the body parts became his main goal, above surviving or winning the race since neither of those interests him. When the need arises, Johnny can be driven by a dark determination, several characters throughout the story mention that Johnny has a look in his eyes that tells them he is capable of killing if necessary. This will has been shown to be too strong and he has been on the verge of doing stupid things, which thanks to Gyro were prevented.

About stand

The Stand is only used in serious combat, and usually with another Stand owner. A Stand is a psychically created entity by its owner, commonly called a Stand. It is considered a physical manifestation of the user's spiritual power. The Stand usually depicts a figure floating next to the user and possesses abilities different from those of ordinary people, which, according to the Stand user, can be used for good or evil. Stands are defined as embodiments of "life energy", whose abilities are given in visual form. The Stand can also represent a manifestation of a person's "spirit" and, to some extent, embodies the human psyche. Johnny's stand

Johnny first seeks out Gyro Zeppeli's tutelage in the ways of the Spin to regain mobility in his legs. Johnny often channels the Spin with the help of his Stand, Tusk; initially developed with the power of the Corpse's left hand, and additionally with the help of Gyro. Unlike Gyro who uses his Steel Balls, Johnny uses his nails as a weapon. ACT I, he is awakened in the Devil's Palm when the Corpse Part combines with Johnny's left hand, manifesting his Stand with the ability to spin his nails and fire them in a bullet-like fashion. ACT II, ​​manifests when Johnny fires one of his nails while incorporating the Golden Rectangle during a fight against Sandman. It grants his nails increased speed and greater power along with a new ability that allows bullet holes to follow the target for a short time. ACT III, is Tusk's final form and manifests when Johnny shoots himself with a Golden Rectangle-enhanced weapon, allowing him to transfer parts of his body through holes to shoot from different directions. He was awakened by a tip from Jesus during a fight against Axl Ro. ACT IV, manifests as a result of using the horse's power combined with the Golden Rectangle, allowing Johnny to fire nail bullets that have infinite rotation. ACT IV possesses the power to force D4C's Love Train.

Horse Riding: Johnny Joestar has been described as a genius jockey, being one of the favorites to win the Steel Ball Run. His skill allows him to travel across many different types of terrain, and challenge his rival jockey Diego Brando. Johnny possesses a great knowledge of his horse, Slow Dancer, which is notable when putting his abilities and limits into play, being able to gauge what Slow Dancer will be capable of at any given time. Intelligence: Johnny Joestar is shown to be a competent Stand user, being able to utilize Tusk's abilities to their fullest. He has occasionally used both the terrain and his enemies' own power against them, being perceptive enough to quickly deduce the ability of Diego Brando's Stand from Another Universe. Marksmanship: When using Tusk, Johnny is shown to possess great aiming skills, being able to hit small and/or moving targets, even if he fires from difficult angles, such as when Tusk ACT III separates his hand from his arm.

Relations

Gyro Zeppeli: Johnny and Gyro are friends, partners in the Steel Ball Run, and also apprentices and teachers in the art of Gyro. At first, Johnny's determination caught Gyro's interest, and led to Gyro helping him ride Slow Dancer before the race. After the first stage, Johnny earns Gyro's respect, leading Gyro to make him his Gyro apprentice. Over the course of the Race, this apprenticeship develops into a companionship, and then a deep friendship. Lucy Steel: Johnny and Lucy are allies against Valentine, but they don't interact much with each other. Mountain Tim: Mountain Tim first became suspicious of Johnny when Benjamin Boom Boom tricked him into believing that Johnny was killing other competitors in the race, but the two became allies in the fight against the Boom Boom Family and Oyecomova. Diego Brando: Johnny considers Diego a rival in his quest for the body parts. Due to Diego's own ruthlessness, Johnny will not hesitate to kill him if he gets in his way. At one point, Diego teams up with Valentine to kill Johnny and Gyro, but it doesn't last long. Sandman: Because Sandman wasn't after the Corpse Parts and befriended the duo, Johnny didn't see him as an enemy. Ultimately, Sandman allied himself with Valentine and tried to kill Johnny alongside Gyro and take the Corpse Parts, thus they became enemies. Funny Valentine: While both were trying to gather the parts of the Cadaver, Johnny and Valentine were enemies, but did not interact much until their one fight. Due to his selfish motivation, Valentine saw Johnny as unworthy of the Cadaver and tried to kill him, though he treated Johnny very carefully as Tusk was partly immune to his D4C.
