What is the Omegaverse?

What is the omegaverse? The Omegaverse is essentially a subgenre of BL with a social class system or “second gender” divided between alphas, betas and omegas. In this way, there is not only biological differentiation between men and women, allowing pregnancy regardless of the person’s sex. The Omegaverse combines the female and male genders, with a "secondary gender" or "secondary dynamic" that manifests during puberty. They are usually described as: Alpha (α): They are portrayed socially (and in some interpretations, biologically) as dominant, physically athletic and strong individuals, with an intense temperament and natural leaders. Beta (β): Depending on the story, they may be portrayed as ordinary humans, with no heat cycles, no pheromones or no reaction to the pheromones of alphas and omegas, or be a mix of characteristics of alphas and omegas, in some works they have their own characteristics. Omega (Ω): They are portrayed as submissive and gentle individuals, generally calm and seeking to maintain peaceful coexistence.
