Personality

Dottore, while studying at the Sumeru Academy, shared his wild ideas with others, earning him the nickname "monster" and "madman".[5] People chased him away with sticks and pitchforks, after which the young man came to the conclusion that "the academy's style of work does not allow for breakthroughs in research". Rumors of a madman led to the first Harbinger, Piero, finding him and inviting him to join the Fatui. He accepted and was given the title "Il Dottore", which he found ironic.[5] Dottore's segments represent all periods of the Harbinger's life. They have different manners of speech and attitudes towards their subordinates. Conflicts arise between the clones themselves, they treat each other differently. However, every known Dottore is ruthless and indifferent to human life. One segment treated his assistant Krupp cruelly, threatening him with his experiments due to repeated failures and failures in various cases. The man (possibly another segment) also showed no interest in the deaths of two of his fellow Fatui diplomats during the Black Flame incident.[6] Dottore is dismissive of people with the Eye of God, considering the Eyes to be nothing more than "useless trinkets." Dottore is one of the Harbingers of Fatui. He loves to tinker with old stuff, it's his hobby. Tartaglia's line in the legend quest The Adventure of the Mighty One-Eye! He appears to have an interest in the Order of the Abyss and often experiments with the Ruin Guardians, even turning Krupp into a machine like them.[6] The Dottore introduced in Sumeru's story and the interlude teaser is calmer than the manga segment, but he is the most selfish. He manages to agree to destroy the other segments in exchange for the Heart of God without hesitation. He also confirms that the other versions would not dare to do such a thing.[7]

Abilities

Dottore, being the second of the Fatui Harbingers, is comparable in strength to the Archons. Even the Lesser Sovereign Kusanali with two Hearts of God cannot defeat him. And although his combat abilities have not been shown in the game, it is known that at different ages, Dottore took segments of himself and turned them into cybernetic augmentations that perform various tasks. However, he can turn other people into monsters even after their death, similar to the situation with Krupp. During his battle with Diluc in the manga, Dottore attacks him with floating needles. It is currently unknown how Harbinger controls them and whether the Eye of God or the Eye of Corruption is involved.

Appearance

Dottore has longer hair and wears a black, pointed mask that covers his eyes. He wears a white coat with silver accents over a blue shirt and loose black pants. His clothes have many black belts and blue details, reminiscent of Hydro or Cryo elements. Dottore wears a black fur that is attached to his right shoulder pad, reminiscent of a plague doctor's mask.

Environment

The Fatui conduct diplomatic negotiations with other kingdoms on behalf of Snow. However, in reality, they use covert and violent methods to get what they want from other kingdoms, and because of this, they are generally seen as a threat to others. According to Venti, the Fatui are the strongest military organization in Teyvat. The Northern Kingdom Bank is located in Snowy and has branches currently known in Liyue, Sumeru (talk to NPC about opening soon) and Fontaine. When Fatui work abroad, they can use funds provided by the Bank and also use it as their temporary base.

Early life

In the distant past, Zandik was a student at Sumeru Academy. He considered his main goal to be the creation of "improved humans", but due to the inhumanity of the methods he proposed and his excessive self-confidence and stubbornness, he was called a madman. One day, Zandik took part in an expedition to study the ruins of the city of Gyurabad, where he came across the remains of mechanisms built in Kaenri'ah. The so-called "Gyurabad Samples", according to the scientist, were incomplete, which is why he could not consider them particularly important for his research. After that, he also went on an expedition to the Ardravi Valley, where he found other components of the ruin mechanisms, as well as the records of the Schwanenritter. During his research, he connected these records with the legends of the ruins of Dahri. During her explorations of the Sumeru jungle, Zandik was paired with a dastur named Sohre. She found him too stubborn and his research style too different from the academy's. Despite this, she enjoyed the time she spent with him discussing flora and fauna. Later that night, she and Zandik went on a picnic. The events that followed are somewhat vague. Most likely, a few days after the picnic, the scientist is reprimanded three times for his unauthorized actions. It is also mentioned that Sohra was attacked by a Rishboland tiger, which left her with serious injuries. Soon after, the team of researchers is attacked by an awakened mechanism, which is soon disabled by Zandik. He insists that the robot be taken to the Academy for further research, but his peers and teachers react negatively to this. As punishment, the sage Sharnama excluded him from the list of authors of the work the expedition was working on. By that time, Sohre was already dead and buried. Some time later, Sohre's body was excavated and dissected to determine the cause of death. As it turned out, the fatal injury was not the wounds from a wild tiger, but a fracture of the hyoid bone, thus hinting at death by strangulation.

However, pathologists were unable to determine the exact cause of death. Later, Zandik participated in a medical study taking place in the Apam forest. The children of the laboratory disappeared in an unknown way, for which the scientist suspected the Aranaras. As a result, he came to the conclusion that with the help of the Aranaras, it is possible to raise the human mind to a new level. Ultimately, Zandik is expelled from the Academy. To some extent, the scientist is upset, because he has lost the resources and environment that facilitated his research. The beginning of Dottore's journey After his exile, word of the mad heretic quickly spreads throughout Sumeru, attracting Piero's attention. The leader of the Harbingers offers the young man membership in the organization, promising resources for his research. Zandik agrees, and Piero gives him the new name Dottore and the title "Doctor". The newly minted Harbinger couldn't help but laugh at his title, finding it quite ironic. Dottore organized research into Eleazar, a disease caused by Forbidden Knowledge. Under the pretext of trying to cure it, he took people sick with Eleazar and then experimented on them. One of the "Doctor's" victims was Kollei, who was experimented on using the remains of gods. The symptoms of Eleazar were partially suppressed, but new ones began to appear, in some cases more painful, which disappeared only after Saino sealed the remains. Four hundred years ago, Dottore, under orders from Piero, infiltrated Tatarasuna to use the false identity of Fontaine engineer Escher to sabotage the furnace, which would further their plans for Inazuma. Soon after, "Escher" caused the furnace to malfunction. Niwa Hisahide went to repair it, but before he could, he was killed by Dottore, who then removed the heart from the corpse and placed it in a box. He gave the box to Kabukimono, and when the doll discovered the heart, he lied that Niwa had shamefully fled after killing the servant. Dottore then left, leaving the doll furious for his second "betrayal".

Even then, the Doctor and the Jester noticed the doll as a possible future ally of Fatui. When Kabukimono joined the Fatui, taking the name Scaramuccia and the title "Storyteller", Dottore modified him, developing his abilities and granting him new ones that were not originally given to Ei. In the course of modifying and studying Scaramucci, Dottore decides to create "segments" of himself, reflecting him at different points in his life. After Diluc's departure from Mondstadt and before the events of the manga, Dottore single-handedly killed the Ursa dragon, thus making the city indebted to Fatui. He would occasionally come to Mondstadt to recruit people, luring them into the organization's ranks only to make them his test subjects.

Dottore, along with his subordinate Krapp, organized fights in the underground arena Gaeresis. When the 139th test subject dies, Dottore expresses indignation at the worthlessness of the "materials" supplied by Krapp, and threatens him with the fate of the test subject. In a panic, Krapp reminds Dottore that an invitation has arrived from Mondstadt to the Ludi Harpastrum festival, and suggests that his boss go there to get new people. Dottore reacts positively to Krapp's offer, "postponing" his torment, and declares that he will go to Mondstadt personally. Dottore and his subordinate arrive at Diluc's estate, where important people of Mondstadt have gathered. Dottore requests an audience with the seneschal of the Ordo Favonius, Seamus, which he ultimately achieves. Krapp does most of the negotiating, but he is not successful. When Krappa Diluc, in the guise of the Midnight Hero, begins interrogating Krapp to find out why Dottore is gathering children, the harbinger kills his subordinate. Dottore is impressed by Diluc's abilities and tells him to "continue training his worthless abilities." Dottore ends the negotiations and returns to Gaeresis, taking Krapp's corpse along the way to modify it into a living weapon in the future. In Chapter 16, Dottore appears again, expressing his indignation at the guards' incompetence for failing to prevent the Midnight Hero from escaping.

Dottore is first mentioned in the game's plot during the Tartaglia Legends quest "The Adventures of the Mighty One-Eye!" Shortly before the events of the quest, he left the factory where experiments were being conducted on the Guardians of the Ruins, without bothering to seal the entrance, which caused the automatons to leave the factory, thereby attracting the attention of the Millelites. One of Dottore's segments attended Signora's funeral. Capitano asks him about Scaramucci and the Electro Heart of God, to which Dottore replies that he is waiting for the first action from the Storyteller. At the same time, another segment of the Doctor is busy with "a little experiment in desecration". We are shown how the segment burns a huge tree in Sumeru. This image appears in Collea's dream. Before the events of the Sumeru storyline, Dottore learns of the Academy's plans to create a new god, in which he then began to actively assist, participating in the creation of knowledge capsules and a mechanical shell for Scaramucci. Knowing that the Aranars are visible only to children, Dottore begins a mass kidnapping of children as bait for the Aranars, but the creatures eventually managed to pull the children out of the trap. Under Dottore's orders, Froderok Frokonstin and a group of soldiers investigated the situation in the desert, and even attempted to make peace with the Tanit tribe, but ultimately fell under the control of Babel, the tribe's matriarch.

Personally, Dottore only appears in the game in Volume III, Chapter III. When the Traveler, Paimon, and Nahida, using Katerina as a body, arrive in Sumeru City to learn about the sages' plans from Setaria. To the heroes' surprise, the townspeople greet them with loud applause and cries of joy. Dottore ambushes them and reveals that Setaria failed to notice the listening device during her conversation with the Traveler, for which she paid with her freedom. He also states that he modified Akasha's terminal, causing all people wearing it to believe the Traveler to be a hero who had just put the entire world to sleep. When the people of Sumeru could no longer contain their adoration, Nahida was forced to use her powers to temporarily disable Akasha and facilitate the escape of the Traveler and Paimon. Unfortunately, in doing so, she reveals her identity to the Harbinger, who locks Nahida's consciousness away. Katerina's body is destroyed by the Hermits hired by the Sages and Dottore.

Later, Dottore plans to return to Snezhnaya, stopping by Tignari in Pardis Dhyai on the way to try to persuade him to give Hypasia to the cryo region (the reason for this desire is the connection between Hypasia and the Storyteller, who is slowly but surely turning into Shoki no Kami). After receiving a refusal, he sends one of his segments to Snezhnaya, also ordering his soldiers to sneak into Pardis Dhyai to forcibly kidnap Hypasia. However, the rebuff of Tignari, Dehya and the Traveler, as well as a thunderstorm caused by Scaramuccia, ruin the soldiers' plans. Dottore appears for the second time after Scaramucci's defeat. He puts the Traveler and Paimon to sleep with a special sound wave. He begins negotiations with Nahida, as a result of which he makes two deals: under the first, he destroys his segments and receives the Electro God Heart in exchange, and under the second, he receives the Dendro God Heart in exchange for knowledge of the "false" sky of Teyvat.
