Who knows…” — Dev Update #12 Sebastian is a villager living in the Mountains, north of Pelican Town. Sebastian is one of the twelve characters available for Marriage. Sebastian lives in the basement of his mother Robin's Carpentry Shop, north of town. Sebastian lives with his mother, Robin, along with his stepfather Demetrius and his stepsister Maru. Robin sometimes calls him Seby. He feels that Maru is treated better than him, and during the winter he talks about building a snow monster which Demetrius demands he take down; he then angrily wonders what his stepfather's problem is. Sebastian is good friends with Sam; the two can be found hanging out at Sam's house or at the Starfruit Lounge playing pool. They also hang out together at festivals, along with Abigail. It is implied that he has a crush on Abigail, after Sam told the player that Sebastian wanted Abigail to be his drummer "for some reason".

"I wonder if he'll ever have the courage to ask Abigail out with him." If the player has married Sam, he will sometimes ask you, "Do you think Sebastian and Abigail will ever hook up?" During the Flower Dance, if neither Abigail nor Sebastian are dancing with the player, Sebastian dances with Abigail. Once married, Sebastian will move into the farm. Like other marriage candidates, he will add his own room to the right of the bedroom. He also makes a small area behind the farm for his motorcycle, and sometimes goes there to work on it. On mornings when Sebastian stays inside the cottage all day, he may offer you Coffee. On rainy days, he may offer you a gift he found in "the caves": Obsidian, Shadow Essence, Bat Wing, Frozen Tear, Amethyst, or Cave Carrot. On New Year's Eve (Winter 28), he will give you a Beer to celebrate the new year. In Sebastian's room is a poster of a character that resembles a Harvest Moon protagonist. Even if you've already given Sebastian the Bouquet, and he appears as "Boyfriend" in your Social Profile, there's still a chance he'll ask if you're single. On Fridays, Robin might say, "I found an ashtray in Sebastian's room, and it smells really weird. Should I be worried?" This could be a sign that Sebastian smokes marijuana in his room. His room at the farm also has a vase on the nightstand that looks like a bong. Dialogues during rain and winter suggest that Sebastian has an interest in frogs. This is confirmed by his 14 heart event. Sebastian is the only villager who likes Flounder as a gift. This may be a reference to The Little Mermaid, specifically the characters Flounder and Sebastian. Sebastian loves Pumpkin Soup, which is a recipe the player can receive from Robin at 7 hearts. This suggests that he loves his mother's cooking.
