Goddess Freya

Freya (フレイヤ) is the leader of the Freya Familia. She can disguise herself as a human girl named Syr Flova (シル・フローヴァ), who is a waitress at the Hostess of Fertility, due to her deal with Horn. Following her defeat in the War Game against the Hestia Familia alliance and the official dissolution of her faction, Freya decided to abandon her identity as a Goddess and live from now on as Syr.

Appearance

Freya has a beauty that is superior and outstanding even among the Gods. She has long silver hair, silver eyes (purple in the anime), and skin as white as fresh snow. She has a perfect golden ratio, enough that one might think that the golden ratio comes from her. Her clothing is largely black and red, and exposes most of her stomach and breasts. She also wears two flower ornaments in her hair. When she is disguised as Syr, she has blue-grey hair, which she keeps tied up in a small knot in a ponytail style. Her eyes are the same color as her hair and she has smooth peach-colored skin. She wears a white blouse and a knee-length skirt. She also wears a slightly long apron around her waist and wears a pair of brown boots over black stockings. On her days off, she wears a white one-piece dress.

personality

Freya is flirtatious, loves to tease, and has an endless appetite for talented adventurers. She seeks out the best and most talented adventurers and will get them no matter the cost. She has an obsession with Bell and actively does everything in her power to see him grow as an adventurer. She doesn't like being tied down by anyone, though she also doesn't wish to become an arrogant ruler. However, as her love for Bell grew more obsessive, she eventually decided to let her selfishness get the better of her and attack his Familia, kidnapping and enchanting all of Orario in the process so she could have him unhindered. She is very impatient as she constantly interferes with Bell's activities knowing that she might kill him in her attempt to want to see him grow as fast as possible, but at the same time she is just as willing to help Bell in order to see him grow like when she gave him a grimoire just to speed up his progress. She is intrigued by his resistance to being jinxed, making her want him even more. She doesn't take kindly to others trying to claim what she wants as she invaded the Entertainment District when Ishtar tried to claim Bell and ended up sending her to heaven. She was also shown to show a bit of jealousy when Bell trained with Ais the first time and when they danced at Apollon's Banquet. Despite her usual, straightforward method of acquiring those she likes, in Bell's case, Freya has decided to just keep an eye on him, stating that she could claim him whenever she wants. She usually stays in her room in Babel, making no public appearances, but recently she has begun seeking out information about Bell or seeing him in person at the Banquets and Denatus of the Gods.

On the other hand, like Syr, she displays a cheerful and kind demeanor, usually because she is slightly mischievous and sometimes scary. She likes to tease Bell and others close to her, though she is weak to being teased herself, which usually ends with her blushing. She is kind, but tends to take advantage of others, usually to increase her family's business, or avoid getting into trouble. She sometimes takes days off to care for the children at Maria's Orphanage on Daidalos Street.

History

Long ago, Hera, at Zeus' request, asked Freya to help her in her quest to save the world. Seeing this, Freya challenged her to a challenge, telling her that she would help her if she won. Having lost, Freya was forced to stay in Orario as part of the deal, and lost several members of her Familia in the confrontation. Some time later, Freya met an orphan girl named Syr. After telling her that she would rescue her, Freya asked the girl what she wanted. Hearing that she wanted to be like her, Freya decided to offer her a deal, which the girl accepted. Thanks to this, Freya obtained her name, which she gave to one of her transformations, allowing her to use it without needing her Arcanum; while in exchange the girl obtained the name Horn and a magic that allows her to transform into Freya.

Skills

Keen Eye (洞察眼): Freya has the innate ability to see the color and glow of souls. She often used this ability in Heaven to claim those she liked before others. Through her ability, Bell's soul color is clear, while Ais's is gold. She can also use this to vaguely estimate the status of adventurers by looking at them. In addition to this, Freya can also see the oscillations of a soul, allowing her to read people with shockingly terrifying accuracy, causing Anya and Chloe to nickname her "witch". Charm (魅了): As the Goddess of Beauty, Freya is able to charm Gods, mortals, and even monsters with her beauty. It is an ability feared by even the other Gods as absolute, with only the Virgin Goddesses being immune to it, forcing those in Heaven to resort to them in order to keep the rest of the Goddesses of Beauty in check. Even amongst the Goddesses of Beauty, Freya's Charm is extraordinary. In Heaven, he was shown to be able to charm even those same Virgin Goddesses, with Freya theorizing that the only ones capable of fully resisting him were the three Great Virgin Goddesses of Olympus. This also allows him to overwrite the Charm of other Goddesses of Beauty with great ease. In the attack on the Entertainment District, he charmed Tammuz, who had already been extensively charmed by Ishtar, with a mere glance.

To charm someone, Freya only needs her target to see her or hear her voice. While this allows them to avoid falling under its effects by covering their eyes and ears, it also gives her a potentially gigantic reach. Indeed, when she decided to take Bell by force, she managed to charm all of Orario in an instant. Alternatively, Freya can resort to touching a person directly. Her power is such that it is said that through her Charm Freya could take over the entire Underworld if she so desired. Through her Charm, Freya can achieve a wide variety of effects. Anyone affected will blindly follow her commands and do anything to please her or gain her favor, even if it means committing suicide. It doesn't even matter if a person finds out they are under her control, as it is impossible to fight against. Her Charm also lets her overwhelm a person's senses with ecstasy and pleasure until they become unconscious in a trance. Its most impressive possible use is that Freya can even rewrite a target's memories, erasing real ones and/or creating new ones. Only two people have been shown to be able to withstand it: Bell thanks to his ability Liaris Freese and Hestia for being one of the three Great Virgin Goddesses. Interestingly, Oomori commented that Freya would have been able to end the Great Conflict seven years ago by using her Charm to neutralize all of Evilus' forces except for Alfia and Zald. [1] However, it is unknown whether her failure to deal with them would have been due to an immunity to her Charm or another unknown factor.

Outside of avoiding falling under her influence, it is possible for Freya's victims to resist the effects of her Charm to a certain extent. When she used it on a group of Guild employees Royman injured himself so that the pain overwhelmed his mind. While he had some degree of success, it was only temporary and he soon fell completely under Freya's power. On the other hand, her ability to alter memories is far from perfect. Since she only modifies people's memories, there is a chance that physical evidence, such as records or notes, that contradict a person's memory will cause them to notice inconsistencies, some to the point where they end up deducing what actually happened. It is also possible that some experience a strange feeling that something is different or missing, but those who have felt this are unable to go further without evidence, remaining stuck with their hunch and never getting closer to the truth. An even rarer and more shocking possibility is that a strong enough emotional bond is able to allow a person to recall certain memories blocked by Freya's Charm. When Bell interacted with Ais the girl ended up remembering their promise to train together. However, this is presumably extremely difficult to do due to how strong one's feelings have to be to achieve this, as out of all of Bell's acquaintances and close friends only Ais did.

Skills

Divine Intellect: As a Goddess, Freya is a brilliant being. Her knowledge is far more extensive than that of normal people, and when it comes to games, she will inevitably win against a mortal as long as she knows the rules. Indeed, despite it being her first time playing, after the rules of Halvan, a game similar to but much more complex than chess or shogi, were quickly explained to her, she proceeded to overwhelmingly defeat Naazo, a fairly experienced player, in just fifteen minutes without stopping for a moment to think about her strategy. In her second game against Arry, an expert, Freya easily gained the upper hand after giving herself several disadvantages and thus giving an overwhelming advantage to her opponent and Arry's own brilliant moves throughout the game. She also demonstrated an unparalleled ability to predict, seeing a scenario, and the moves needed to achieve it, dozens of moves ahead. Skilled Manipulator: Freya is skilled at manipulating other people through a combination of her Keen Eye, acting, and deception, such as when she beat a group of skilled con artists who ganged up on her in poker. Divine Perception: As a Goddess, Freya possesses supernatural perception. Even without a clue, when her intuition tells her something, it is correct. She can also immediately tell when a mortal is telling a lie. However, she cannot distinguish lies from other Gods. Divinity (神威): As a Goddess, Freya gives off a divine aura that allows mortals to recognize her as a Goddess. She can also release more of her divinity at will to gain a more imposing presence. Arcanum (神の力アルカナム): As a Goddess, Freya possesses a wide range of divine abilities with the potential to destroy the world if she ever unleashed them. She sealed them away upon descending from Heaven in accordance with the rules of the Gods.

Skills

Divine Mirror: Freya is able to create a mirror that allows her to see any place she wishes in the Underworld. Despite no longer being in Heaven, she is allowed to use it without being sent back, though its use is still restricted. Transformation: In Heaven, Freya could transform to change her appearance. Because of her deal with Horn, she can use her ability in the Underworld. After making the deal she gave one of her alternate identities the name Syr, Horn's original name, to create the identity of Syr Flova, who is a waitress at the Hostess of Fertility.
