Prosciutto

Origin of the character

Prosciutto (プロシュート, Puroshūto?) is a minor antagonist who appears in Vento Aureo. Prosciutto is a member of La Squadra di Esecuzione, Pesci's mentor and fights the Bucciarati Gang on a high-speed train to Florence, using his Stand, The Grateful Dead.

Personality

Prosciutto is a rather serious person. He is presented to us as a man who always focuses on his mission and adheres to the motto of La Squadra di Esecuzione, that of holding one's ground even when mortally wounded, which he puts into practice and expects all his subordinates to do the same as well. He does not tolerate any decline in that attitude, especially when it comes from his peers and subordinates. He is usually very determined, resolving any obstacles with cold efficiency, and carrying out his objectives without hesitation. Despite his serious and cold demeanor, he is also shown to have a somewhat caring and concerned side towards his companions. As the superior of the assassin duo, Prosciutto frequently points out his partner Pesci's lack of confidence in his own abilities and on multiple occasions tries to comfort him and convince him of his own capabilities. This confidence is not unfounded, however, as Bruno Bucciarati mentions during his battle with Pesci that Pesci's abilities are more dangerous than Prosciutto's own. He also possesses a strong will, as shown when he suffers near-fatal injuries from being caught in the train's wheels and uses the last of his resolve with his meager strength to keep his Stand's ability activated for as long as possible.

Appearance

Prosciutto is a man with a thin build, short blond hair braided into three short mats at the back of his head. His lower eyelashes are thick, and his upper teeth are somewhat pronounced, being depicted with a slight emphasis whenever he opens his mouth. Prosciutto wears a dark suit with a spider web-like design running along it, under which he wears a bright, light yellow shirt. Prosciutto has a dark collar with a large, stylized pendant around his neck.

About stands

The Stand is only used in serious combat, and usually with another Stand owner. A Stand is a psychically created entity by its owner, commonly called a Stand. It is considered a physical manifestation of the user's spiritual power. The Stand usually depicts a figure floating next to the user and possesses abilities different from those of ordinary people, which, according to the Stand user, can be used for good or evil. Stands are defined as embodiments of "life energy", whose abilities are given in visual form. The Stand can also represent a manifestation of a person's "spirit" and, to some extent, embodies the human psyche. Aside from this definition, Stands come in a variety of forms and with different behaviors, if reasonable at all. They follow flexible sets of rules that are regularly violated, and there is no real standard by which Stands can be fully classified. Such as the embodiment of psycho.
