Origin of the character

Diavolo (ディアボロ, Diaboro?) is the main antagonist of Vento Aureo. As the discoverer of the Arrows, he is responsible for the recent proliferation of Stand Users in the world. Living an extremely secretive life as someone who seeks to remain underground, he is the top leader of the organized crime syndicate called Passione, which corrupts the world. to Italy with drug trafficking on the streets, making him Giorno and Bruno's greatest and superior enemy. Due to his obsession with hiding his identity, practically no one knows his past or his real appearance.

Appearance

In his first appearance, cloaked in seemingly endless shadows, Diavolo has a more organized hairstyle, with his hair slicked back evenly and is dressed in a suit and tie and a shirt embroidered with a grid similar to that of his Stand. When his appearance is finally revealed, Diavolo is a tall, gaunt-looking man of about 33 years of age with a semi-muscular build and physique, and his lips are painted black (purple in the anime series). He has long, leopard-like pink hair with either black, green, or violet spots depending on the media, which he keeps combed and parted in a zig-zag pattern; the strands of his hair fall in a vertical spike and are parted slightly to the side. The rest of his hair falls straight down to his shoulders. How much hair he has often varies depending on the media he is portrayed in, being inconsistent. His shirt, hidden under Doppio's jersey, is black and appears to be made of woven mesh: it covers his shoulders and torso, but on his back and abdomen there are interlocking circles in a line that are folded under his belt, which in the back end into two~three long "tails". On his biceps he appears to have several spiral flower motifs inked in long black lines that extend all the way to his wrists, but according to the last episode where he appears, the apparent tattoos are literally the sleeves of his shirt, but in the anime series it is clarified that they are actually tattoos. He also wears a pair of bracelets and shares the same brown pants and loafers without socks as Doppio. Their eyes are unique: their irises are "fragmented", forming several spots with a touch of light in a triangular shape with them.

Personality

Diavolo is an extremely proud, ruthless and brutal mob boss in his desire to hide his past and maintain his hierarchical position at the top of his Passione gang. Diavolo shares his body with an alternate personality due to multiple personality disorder. The biggest personality trait that Diavolo displays is his obsession with erasing all traces of his past and hiding from the world, a compulsion that he tries to fulfill by any means necessary. Diavolo believes that the past is filled with many mistakes and that it must be destroyed in order for a person to mature. He is shown to be quite anxious about his past, often linking it with fear, and being apprehensive of anyone learning about it. Even in Passione's already secretive hierarchy, Diavolo goes to extreme lengths to conceal his identity and face, issuing orders through various proxy servers or computers so that no one will ever meet him personally. Diavolo lives most of his life in the shadows, implied to constantly travel throughout Italy hidden in his alter ego and often sleep in hotel rooms exclusively. This compulsive trait of erasing his past is also an allegory for the inherent imperfection in King Crimson, specifically the Epitaph ability; while he can see into the future to prevent any mistakes, his Stand's ability cannot erase the low points or "ebbs" in his life that have already occurred, forcing him to try to correct his mistakes through his own manual and personal efforts. Diavolo has also shown an inability to understand other people's emotions and to properly interact with anyone, due in large part to his overwhelming pride and secrecy.

About stands

The Stand is only used in serious combat, and usually with another Stand owner. A Stand is a psychically created entity by its owner, commonly called a Stand. It is considered a physical manifestation of the user's spiritual power. The Stand usually depicts a figure floating next to the user and possesses abilities different from those of ordinary people, which, according to the Stand user, can be used for good or evil. Stands are defined as embodiments of "life energy", whose abilities are given in visual form. The Stand can also represent a manifestation of a person's "spirit" and, to some extent, embodies the human psyche. Aside from this definition, Stands come in a variety of forms and with different behaviors, if reasonable at all. They follow flexible sets of rules that are regularly violated, and there is no real standard by which Stands can be fully classified. Such as the embodiment of psycho.

Devil's Stand

King Crimson is Diavolo's Stand. Created after stabbing himself with the Stone Arrow, this Stand is a short-range Stand, so it can only unleash its power at least two meters away. When that happens, his Stand is shockingly strong, capable of dealing very powerful blows, presumably stronger than those dealt by Stands like Star Platinum or The World. However, its true ability, which makes it truly dangerous, is to erase a portion of time, that is, King Crimson eliminates the cause of an action, leaving only the resulting effect. All those affected will not be able to remember what happened between the action and its consequence since the ability affects the entire surrounding area, except for Diavolo who can move in the erased space. With this, Diavolo makes sure to avoid any attacks directed at him. In addition to this ability, both Doppio and Diavolo can predict the future of what happens around them within a space of ten seconds and alter it as they see fit. All actions predicted by Epitaph (which is what the ability is called), according to Diavolo, will inevitably occur and cannot be altered in any way. However, like the Stand Tohth, the predictions are not 100% accurate.
