Bluestar was the leader of ThunderClan in the forest territories. She was a proud and deeply loyal leader. Titkit was born to Moonpaw and Snowfur, along with her sister Snowpelt. She was apprenticed to Bluepaw early on, and was mentored by Rocktail. However, after a devastating battle, Moonpaw was killed and Rocktail retired, causing Sunfall to become Bluepaw's new mentor. Goosefeather showed her the prophecy, though she did not pay much attention to it. After becoming a warrior, Bluefur raised Cloudpaw's kit, Cloudkit, as her own after her sister died in an accident on the Thunderpath while pursuing ShadowClan trespassers, and Bluefur fell in love with the RiverClan warrior, Oakheart, becoming pregnant with his child. Bluefur then realized that she could not be loyal to her Clan when her heart lay elsewhere. At first, she raised Cloudkit, Pebblekit, and Mosquitokit in ThunderClan, with Thrushpaw acting as their father; however, in order to become deputy in place of the ambitious Sharpclaw, who she feared would destroy ThunderClan with his lust for battle, she gave her kits to Oakheart to live in RiverClan, and Mosquitokit died of cold on the way there. Bluefur mentored Snowwhite and Windpaw, and later succeeded Spottedfur as deputy. After Sunstar's death, she became leader as Bluestar. After Spottedleaf received the prophecy, Bluestar invited a young kit named Rusty to join ThunderClan, naming him Firepaw, and became his mentor. Despite Fireheart's warnings, Bluestar trusted her deputy, Tigerclaw, until he attempted to kill her during a battle and she banished him, leaving her depressed and turning against StarClan.
