story When Giyu was young, his family was killed by demons. Giyu survived by protecting his older sister at the cost of her life. Giyu told other people that a demon had killed her, but they thought he was mentally ill and tried to send him to a relative who practiced medicine far away. Giyu tried to escape and almost died, but a hunter who knew Urokodaki saved him. ChildGiyu&Sabito Little Giyu with Sabito When Giyu was 13, he met Sabito and they became close friends due to being the same age and having similar backgrounds. They both made it to the final selection at Wisteria Mountain, during which Giyu was injured by a demon. Sabito saved him and then went to help the other students. Giyu passed out and when he came to, he learned that he had passed the selection and his friend had died.
