Persona Attributes

Nico Robin (ニコ・ロビン, Niko Robin?), also known by her epithets: Demon Girl (悪魔の子, Akuma no Ko?) and Light of the Revolution (革命の灯, Kakumei no Tomoshibi?) is the archaeologist of the Straw Hat Pirates, as well as one of the main officers of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet. She is the seventh member of the crew and the sixth to join, doing so at the end of the Alabasta arc. She is introduced as one of the most prominent secondary antagonists of the Alabasta saga, being the vice president of Baroque Works and Crocodile's right-hand woman. However, after being saved by Monkey D. Luffy from dying at the hands of Crocodile and the former Warlord of the Sea's subsequent defeat she joins the crew. She temporarily left the gang during the Water 7 arc, but rejoined at the end of the Enies Lobby arc following CP9's defeat at the hands of the Straw Hat Pirates. Her dream is to know the true history by researching the poneglyphs. She is currently offering a bounty of Belly 930,000,000 on her head, making her the fifth highest of her entire crew. She is the sole survivor of the Ohara Clan, succeeding all of her predecessors as an archaeologist, and was the right-hand woman of the head of the criminal organization Baroque Works under the alias Miss All Sunday (ミス・オールサンデー, Misu Ōrusandē?). She also consumed the Hana Hana fruit. Because she is an archaeologist and as the only survivor of the Ohara Incident, the World Government placed a reward of Belly 79,000,000 on her head when she was barely eight years old, being pursued tirelessly for twenty years under the pretext of having sunk six ships. of wars (using it as a cover for Jaguar D. Saul's defection).

appearance

Start Nico Robin is a tall, slender but athletic woman with shoulder-length black hair. Her eyes are blue in the anime (with large, wide dark blue pupils at the beginning and black later on) and brown in the manga (also in the 10th movie). Her nose is long and straight, slender and defined. Robin's limbs are very long, especially her legs, which greatly contributes to both her combat ability (given the nature of her powers) and her overall height; and, like most female characters in the series, she has a narrow waist. Many people consider her attractive or beautiful. She does not have a trademark look like everyone else, though her "cowgirl" look with a purple color theme when she was first introduced is often associated as her trademark look. She frequently wears some dark-colored clothing (mostly black or purple), or made up of leather, sometimes both. She seems to be fond of wearing high heels. Both Robin and Nami wear high heels and light clothing; and, like her, heels do not affect Robin's height, posture or form, or speed or walking. She also tends to wear a cowboy hat, though she has not worn it again since the timeskip. She has been seen on numerous occasions wearing a striking gold bracelet with the shape of the letter "N" on it (referring to her last name "Nico"), and made up of two purple leather strips and white fringes. In the anime, Robin's skin tone is slightly darker compared to the manga, where it is lighter. Robin also resembles her mother greatly, with the exception of her hair color and style, as well as having a slightly darker skin tone than her.

appearance

In the Arabasta saga, she wore a leather outfit consisting of a purple corset that exposed much of her cleavage and midriff, as well as leaving her shoulders bare, and a skimpy white miniskirt. Both the skirt and corset, as well as high-heeled cowboy boots, are decorated with fringe and leather stitching. At various points in the saga, she covered her light clothing with a heavy, long white coat. Later on, her attire remains almost identical. At first she paired her usual outfit with tight purple or violet-hued pants (the same shade as her previous outfit), and a jacket of the same color with long sleeves and raised lapels at the collar that is short enough to expose her belly button area. At other times, such as in filler arcs, she borrowed clothing from Nami that consisted of loose blouses and long pants. In the Skypiea arc, she once again wore her white cowboy hat, along with a yellow tank top and purple pants that, this time, reach down to her calves. She also wore a simple white and beige belt around her waist, and purple high-heeled sandals. She is also seen wearing her signature bracelet on her left arm again. In the Water 7 saga, she debuted a short black dress with a buttoned neckline that left the neckline generously open, and which seemed to have some kind of white lining or under-fabric with polka dots that could be seen at the end of the skirt and sleeves. She wore long black boots over the knee, matching her black dress, with stiletto heels. She was also seen wearing a tight red T-shirt with the Galley-La emblem on the front, and black pants. She also wore a pair of white high-heeled shoes. She later replaced the T-shirt with a tight, dark purple striped button-down sweater, and high-heeled shoes.

appearance

In the Thriller Bark series, she wore a short purple dress, in the anime (red in the manga) with embroidered lace edges, thigh-high stockings held up with a black garter belt, and black high-heeled boots with two rows of buttons down the front. In the Spa Island filler arc, Robin was seen wearing a white bikini with pink straps and ruffles lining the base of her front. She also wore a yellow sarong wrapped around her waist. In the Sabaody Archipelago Arc, she wore a black outfit (colored purple in the anime) consisting of a cowboy hat, a sleeveless, low-cut, yellow collared shirt covered in concentric black circles, matching calf-length pants, and high-heeled shoes. She also had a number of round, yellow ornaments hanging from her waist. During his confinement at Tequila Wolf, Robin wore a blue one-piece prisoner suit, which was left open to reveal his chest, and had his hands chained with seastone handcuffs. Oda has also answered a fan's question in SBS volume 37 about Robin's measurements: her measurements are B99-W59-H89 (39-23-35) and she is exactly 188cm (6'2") tall, making her the third tallest member of the Straw Hat Pirates. After the time jump After two years, Robin's hair is pulled back past his shoulders, revealing more of his forehead and ears. During his time away from the crew, his skin became a lighter color, much like in the manga. Her outfit after the timeskip now consists of a long pink skirt with a partly violet zippered leather vest with a Boa Hancock-like "V" neck line and a white (dark blue in the anime) rose printed on the front of her left shoulder, ray van-type sunglasses, pink high-heeled shoes, and a pink backpack.

appearance

Like Nami, her breasts have become much larger and more voluptuous and the curves of her body and figure have become more pronounced. Its current measurements are (according to Sanji and Oda himself) B100-W60-H90 [15]. When she leaves Fishman Island she wears a very revealing dark dress. In the Punk Hazard arc, she wears a dull blue top that barely covers her torso, underneath which she wears a sleeveless, flower-printed T-shirt and a dark miniskirt that reveals her long legs. She wears her signature high heels, sunglasses, and her hair down. After arriving at the cold part of Punk Hazard with his companions, he steals the centaurs' coats and wears a pink coat with black spots. He also appears to have two large rows of hair sliding in front of his ears. During the end of the arc, his coat changes to a white one. On the way to Dressrosa she initially wears a violet outfit and later another one, in Dressrosa she wears sunglasses, a white hat and a dark blue suit with a low cut and revealing cut. Disguised as a subordinate of the Toy Factory she wore a red helmet, black shirt, gloves, white belt and light pants. As a toy she became a kind of doll dressed in white and with blonde hair.

personality

When the crew is out sailing, Nico Robin is usually reading stories and/or researching information about the places they visit. She is very wise and very patient in everything. Robin does not have a specific role on the ship, but she can foresee what can be found somewhere and that (in her own words), is an advantage to the others. Luffy considers her to be a very intelligent member. Nico Robin is the most calm of all the Straw Hat Pirates members and has rarely been seen acting in a comical manner. She is more intelligent than Nami. In addition, Robin treats Luffy with more respect; even when he acts impulsively, in fact, she often laughs about it. Along with Zoro, she is one of the members who supports Luffy's decisions unconditionally. She also has an attraction to the macabre, as she is quick to notice the bizarre or morbid side of things, scaring Nami, Usopp, and Chopper. When they were on Thriller Bark, Robin decides to accompany Luffy to the Phantom Island, Nami asks her why she wants to go and Robin simply replies that she likes suspense and mystery. This attitude extends to other situations such as when she, Nami, and Zoro return to the ship at Upper Yard and wonder why Chopper isn't answering them, to which Robin speculates that he was possibly hacked to death, and even thought Cerberus was "cute". She also has a great deal of pride, refusing to do the transformation with Franky, Usopp, and the others during the battle against Oars just because she thought it would look ridiculous, adding embarrassedly that they should never try that "docking" thing again.

personality

Surprisingly, Robin has a childish side where she imagines cute or tender things, although she doesn't show it in front of others. For example, when Bartholomew Kuma mentioned the name of her fruit and showed the palms of his hands, Robin imagined the palms of a cat's paws in her mind and compared it to Kuma's. Also when Kanjuro drew an animal called Ryunosuke, she blushed saying that it was cute and cried when this drawing disappeared after taking them to the top of the elephant. As an archaeologist, she shows a great interest in knowing history and learning about the Void Century. Throughout the series, Robin has been seen investigating and visiting ancient places on different islands and different Poneglyphs. In the past and after witnessing the destruction of Ohara, with the death of her mother and the rest of the archaeologists and being persecuted for years, Robin developed a strong distrust towards the people she knew, with the constant fear that they would betray her, so every time she joined an organization or met new people she kept her distance from them and avoided creating ties with those people, since she always abandoned them and changed groups. She was also traumatized by the Buster Call and the destruction of her home and every time the Buster Call was mentioned or attempted to be used, Robin lost her characteristic serenity and began to tremble with fear, losing her composure. However, thanks to Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates, she overcame her trauma and distrust, feeling that she finally met those people she can call her friends and shows total trust towards them. When Inuarashi mentioned that she would be hunted down by the government and many organizations she simply smiled saying that her friends will protect her, showing that she is no longer afraid and has left behind her past traumas and insecurities.

personality

Robin is ruthless in combat, breaking the necks or spines of her enemies without hesitation, even when they beg for mercy; she even attempted this against Sogeking on the sea train to Enies Lobby. Her attitude towards her companions is so sincere and natural because she feels that she has finally found her place alongside this gang after her hard life. Robin has a great attachment to the Straw Hats, going so far as to do things that could be considered absurd or illogical, such as collaborating with CP9 to achieve Pluton's plans and surrendering to the World Government in exchange for ensuring the safety of the crew. She also set out to become stronger in order to help her captain by improving the range of her fruit and her offensive capacity, something she never thought she would do for anyone. She confessed to Black Maria during their fight that she would be willing to become a demon if it would help her companions and protect them, showing the close bond she has with the crew.

Devil Fruit

Main article: Hana Hana fruit Robin ate a Devil Fruit called the Hana Hana no Mi, which allows her to sprout parts of her body anywhere. Most of her attacks are performed by sprouting hands, usually to neutralize or disarm an enemy. Being a combat style based on capturing and reducing the enemy, to cause damage he has to twist their bones, although he can also throw them into the air or hit them against the ground or any nearby object. The names of Robin's attacks are composed of a mix of three languages: Spanish for the number, French for the term "Fleur" (Flower), and English for the action, in case he performs any. Example: "Thirty Fleurs Clutch", "Nine Fleurs Twist", "One Hundred Fleur Delphinium", "Fleur Eyes" and "Fleurs Ear", among other techniques. So far, the most powerful one he has shown is Clutch, with which he catches the enemy with a variable number of arms (so far he has used six, eight, thirty, forty and eighty arms) immobilizing him with several of them, while with the rest he breaks the enemy's neck or back by pulling him backwards. With this attack he brutally crippled Spandam and left Pell in bad shape. He actually uses his arms and hands, but can also extend his ears to listen to conversations from a great distance and create eyes to see things far away from his body. He has even combined his abilities with Luffy's (such as when they save Usopp from falling into the abyss in Skypiea). The power to multiply his limbs is very useful, as it allows him to lift great weights or perform great feats of strength. Robin is also able to fly, by growing multiple arms on his back, although he is only able to do so for five seconds, it is enough to avoid a hard fall. This technique is called Cien Fleur: Wing.

Devil Fruit

After two years of training, Robin has shown an increase in the offensive activity of his powers, creating limbs immensely larger than those he previously created, albeit composed of hundreds of normal-sized limbs. The most notable of her newly trained abilities is the enhancement of her natural ability to create copies of any part of her body, now being able to replicate all of them at the same time and in the same point. This results in clones of herself which she controls, using them as decoys or avatars in moments of danger when she wishes for her entire person to somehow intervene in the action without risking harm. She has also been seen using these clones to enhance her ability to twist, as occurred in the fight against Hammond on Fish-Man Island in which, trying to counteract his length and resistance, she used the clones to exert greater force and cover a larger area of her enemy's body. Despite being one of the strongest and most powerful members of the Straw Hats, Nico Robin has shown her powers on rare occasions, although in them she makes clear her superiority in combat since her specialty according to her is assassination. Like Zoro, she usually kills or leaves her opponents in very bad conditions. Robin has faced in Arabasta the most powerful warrior of the country, Pell, Lieutenant Tashigi and several Marines. Later she has been seen facing in Skypiea Yama, one of the most powerful warriors of the God Enel, and also easily defeated a large number of marines and the leader of CP9, Spandam (although he was weaker than the average marine, so he was not a great rival), in the escape from Enies Lobby.

Devil Fruit

Many consider Robin to be the fourth strongest and most powerful member of the Straw Hat Pirates, as she has not shown signs of super-strength or super-speed that can be compared to Luffy, Zoro or Sanji, but she can match Franky's, as the latter depends on recharging to be able to use his power. However, it cannot be said that she far exceeds the capabilities of Brook, Usopp, Chopper and Nami. In fact, Robin's offensive capacity is based on ranged attacks, exactly the same way as Nami (with Clima Tact) and Usopp (with his large arsenal). However, it seems clear that the latter is in better physical condition (after the Time Skip) than Robin, and it would be logical to say that he also has greater resistance. In the case of Chopper, he has melee attack skills that she lacks, as well as speed and strength (and even "size") far from hers. On the other hand, Brook has shown a surprising improvement of his Devil Fruit abilities, and his ability that prevents him from being captured in any way is comparable to Robin's "surprise effect", who can capture the opponent with his arms in thousandths of a second and break their neck without them being able to resist; it is comparable to the ability of the Yomi Yomi fruit, which grants Brook the ability to separate his soul and his body, making him someone impossible to capture or contain. We can therefore conclude that the comparison between Robin's strength and attack power and those of Brook, Franky, Chopper and Usopp does not so clearly determine who is above the others, since after the time skip, the abilities of the crew members considered the weakest of the crew have developed noticeably.

Devil Fruit

In Thriller Bark he defeated the zombies Victoria Cindry, Jigoro and Inuppe. He helped Chopper defeat Hogback and Oars along with all the Straw Hat Pirates, helping Brook and Luffy climb to the top of the Thriller Bark mast with his Fleur Feet. On Fishman Island he participated in the fight defeating Hammond.

Hand to hand combat During the timeskip, Robin was trained by members of the Revolutionary Army to attack in melee with her hands, either directly with her hands or created through her powers.[15] Its use was first shown when she side-stepped the Thousand Sunny off some rocks at the bottom of the sea on its journey to Fish-Man Island,[16] with a more specialized use shown in combat against Black Maria.[15] Fishman Karate Main article: Fishman Karate Koala instructed Robin in some fish-man karate techniques during her time with the Revolutionary Army in the time skip, helping her increase her hand-to-hand combat repertoire.[15] Other skills Robin is also an excellent archaeologist with a vast knowledge of history and cultures. She is one of the few people (if not the only one) who can read the encrypted language of the poneglyphs, which contain ancient history. She acquired most of her knowledge during her research in the Ohara Library. Aside from historical knowledge, she has a great knowledge of many of the greatest figures in the world such as "Red-Haired" Shanks, Monkey D. Dragon, Gecko Moria, and the World Government and the Marines, such as CP9 and the most important members such as the Admirals.
